  1. STT that's a South Devon suffix, so yes, definitely a coastal car! Where are you based, as Torbay is my neck of the woods?
  2. So 2 years on, and still not done the belt. Not really relishing spending huge amounts on it, and was thinking about doing it myself, being handy with a spanner. Watched a YouTube on a US Honda with the same engine, and it looks do-able. I'd let Stu do it, but I'm too far away. Any hints and tips, Hughzee? Make a great post for the forum.
  3. No worries.... Window stickers, mugs and T shirts, I could take a look for us all.... Thing is, a Youtuber might have an audience of thousands, whereas us, well, not sure of the membership numbers, but it can't be very high, given how many Coops are left in the UK. I suppose you don't want to be left with a lot of stock!
  4. Any updates, Stu? YouTubers can't wait to sell us stuff from their stores!
  5. Since owning my Coupe (May 2019) I've done nothing to it mechanically, other than an oil change. But I've been getting a bit of hesitation and a lumpy idle on first start up. So on checking the ignition system, I find that all 6 spark plugs are only screwed in, barely hand tight! So these came out and got a clean. They were in good condition though. Then a look at the dizzy and rotor arm, both of which had seen better days. I've cleaned them up, and refitted, but have some new ones on order. Anyway, it idles nicely now, and rises to about 1200 rpm on a cold start. Nice!
  6. Looks good in green! Most seem to be in silver including mine.
  7. where did you get the bulb from? I found a few on eBay, but they were a right faff to fit, and not very bright either.
  8. Really happy with Churchill, £164. One Yr NCD, 55yr male, TQ post code. Half what I paid with AA previous year.
  9. Happy bunny! The 2 items turned up today, from different sellers, and after a little bit of faffing about with the right sized watch battery (a CR 2032 instead of the 2025 I thought went in there at first), I now have a fully functional 3 button remote. The aftermarket case feels a bit flimsy , but it'll do for now!
  10. Yes Stu, as far as I know the OMRON receiver is good. I pulled it out to get the serial number and Mhz frequency. I just want remote access via a fob, which I do not have. I believe the alarm works, as the horn went off the other day when I tried to get in with the window open and the door locked. Not sure about the boot release feature though.
  11. Didn't explain that very well, did I. The photos are, as you have deduced, the receiver unit that I have removed from my car. I've been looking for the correct remote Key fob, and the seller on ebay said his wouldn't work, because the part number was incorrect and not matching.
  12. Never had a remote with the car, and when I thought I'd found the correct one on ebay, the seller said it wouldn't work, due to the wrong serial number. I presume they have to match? If so, I can't find one that will fit.
  13. Next job on mine is to address a liitle bulge in the wheel arch inner edge. One side is OK, but the nearside is warped with a little obvious rust. I'm going to get the Dremel out and grind it out, taking care not to damage the outside edge and wing. Then rust proof it, fill it, and spray it in the proper silver paint I have.
  14. Fabricated some frames to replace the crusty number plate light mounts, taking inspiration from another post on this site. Doesn't look too bad, and you can't see it anyway.
  15. The bar cleaned up after removing it, and a coat of silver Smoothrite. Didn't fancy drilling the top support, so that got a thorough coating too, after a rub down. The whole area is vulnerable to the elements, due to the number plate lights being open. Bad design in my opinion. When I took the bumper off, I must have knocked the pointy end of the taillight off. Luckily I found it 6ft away on the road, and glued it back.
  16. Where could I get a new crash bar from?
  17. Going to fit reverse sensors to the Accord, but could see dirt and rust underneath. The crash bar is a bit rusty and will need cleaning. Doesn't look like the bumper has been off in a while. I reckon most of this will clean up. Plastic clip on the bumper needs sorting, and I'm not sure whether to touch the number plate light mounts which are a bit crusty too.
  18. I prefer the US designed and built, Japanese car.
  19. Any photos without 'Photobucket' across them? You can barely make out anything!!
  20. Could it be that you have a slightly clogged fuel filter and the extra fuel drawn when cold is a little bit too much flow for it? So guys, where is the fuel filter situated? I ordered one from ECP and they gave me this one?
  21. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RZ42GNZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Fitted a perfectly, despite not being the same model, so let's see how long it lasts!! I don't really think they are that effective in today's climate or in my use, as I would always wash the car regularly, but, hey, if the car has something that's not working, I like to get it working properly. 22. Useful post, just replaced the pump on mine, as it was seized. Genuine Honda one was £125 I think, and got the cheapy on Amazon, £15. Ebay only had them sourced in China, but this one was UK and arrived in 2 days. Then I forgot how the pipes went back.....and I drove over one as well, smashing one of the pipe connections. Managed to bodge it with some stiff rubber fuel pipe and used the photos here for guidance. I always forget to take pictures. Lots of plastic clips broke, too! For a 22 yr old car, there's no rust underneath either.
  23. Really nice. What size are the wheels, they look good.
