  1. Checked the plugs today. I changed them about 3 years ago, (Bosch, the type with the 4 way earth/ground electrodes). Just thought I'd check them today, only done about 5,000 miles in them, and they were all loose. One of the back ones was very loose. There's no way I would have not tightened them at the time. Is this a known 'thing' or did I just have a senior moment at the time? It might explain a little recent rough idling, and since tightening, it's running really well.
  2. fill your boots. Don't think I've EVER paid £7 for a brake disc. Check out the filters too, although I didn't bother with the pollen filter, as it didn't look right.

  4. I know that good old EuroCar Parts and GSF have a sale on every day, however, I do think they are slimming down some of their stock at the moment, and it looks like there's a few bargains to be had. Brake discs £14.78 FOR A PAIR !! Crosland Fuel Filter £1.49 Bosch Wiper Blade set £5.49. There's bargains out there if you look. If you want full premium brands, then maybe look elsewhere, but they're got to be worth entering in your Reg and taking a look!! This is on ECP , but I also found some bargains on GSF as well....rear drop links LH £0.43p RH £14.46 (funny that, especially as I need a pair). No, I don't work for them. I also got some spares in for the StreetKa, similar bargains to be had. Let's here about any others!!! Always up for a bargain, and I have now started to build up a little stock for these older cars.
  5. The brackets are fairly chunky and unlikely to rust through completely, but the rubber grommet mounts looks like they have shrunk, mine are the same. This could cause a bit of vibration (dampened by those rubbers), but still could provide a wobble. Can you get replacements easily?
  6. I've put off so many jobs lately until the weather gets warmer. What a pussy. Then when it does warm up, we end up doing stuff and going places, and so it goes on......
  7. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/714552513460236/ Just seen this on Facebook.
  8. I seem to remember fitting police spec discs, which worked!
  9. This was a good little series of videos. Takes me back to 1993 when I had an 820e. This one had the M series engine, but had a single point throttle body fuel injection system. As mentioned previously, the issues I had were warping discs, and a couple of exhaust valves that burnt out. That was quite an expensive job.
  10. They only sold the 350g , which was £4.49. Cheaper than ebay, but a long way for you guys to drive! Although it's quite nice down here in Devon at this time of year!
  11. Picked a couple of these items up from Trago Mills, which are like big versions of the tiny silica gel packs you get in covid test packs. Both the Streetka and the Coupe have recently been getting quite misted up, and so far, they seem to be working. Will update you all accordingly.
  12. the original eBay trader promised to inform me , no reply as yet. However, this looks pretty good.
  13. Brixham is 5 miles away from me and is right by the sea You can just see it in my my profile picture!. You'd need to have a firk around underneath I think. Speedwell Honda fixed the airbag recall on mine last year too, but they'v now relocated to Newton Abbot, and Hondas are no longer the primary franchise (Hyundai I think). Still, if I had the space, I'd be tempted.
  14. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/794531135118416/ Wish I had the space for this. Would make a good project, not too much to get it back on the road.
  15. You're clearly 'of a certain age' now, making insurance cheaper. I only pay £170. But it is a slight worry if I wrote the thing off and only got market value. Maybe time for agreed value classic insurance. At the moment though, it's got business use on it, so classic might be difficult. By the way, how is the transmission behaving now?
  16. Both....pads tight, and just about stuck on the calipers , by the pad 'ears' as you say. Got the Dremel out and ground down a bit of corrosion and dust build up. The rear sliders were tight, but i didn't think excessively though. They got a new dose of red rubber grease. The creaking sounds like a little bearing grumble, but the bearings when I inspected them are smooth and sound and feel great. It is only when I reverse the car, almost sounds like a suspension vibration.
  17. That's funny, as I did mine last week. Exactly the same procedure, and pads very tight, with the rear sliders a bit tight. I've been getting creaking from the back as well, which is better now, but not completely eradicated. Could it be something else?
  18. I watched this when it came out as well. Brought back some memories of the 820e I had in the early 90s. The 'e' had a single point throttle body injection, as opposed to a full injection as in the 820i. Great car, but could never fully eradicate brake judder, which was a common problem with them. I suppose by now, this issue has been solved?
  19. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/50820s87a81?gadw=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw14uVBhBEEiwAaufYx_yhmOslxPy7ZzEkcaB6iwHUNt3m2Epk_jyD8mywaf4K2cdxKCYm8xoCOWEQAvD_BwE It would appear Autodoc have them. I've used them before and they're pretty good, so long as you are confident of the part numbers. Might treat myself to a bigger order to justify the carriage costs.
  20. It is now listed as out of stock as well. I messaged these guys, and apparently they can't source them here at the moment. They get them from Poland, and they are pattern parts, not OEM, and again, can't source them there either.
  21. Ok, which one of you lot have just gone and bought the last one? I bought mine this morning, but I've had this message Hi there, Many thanks for ordering with us! We are incredibly sorry to inform you that due to the unavailability of the stock we will need to issue a refund for this order. We’ve tried really hard to source this with other companies but unfortunately, nobody has been able to help us. We are deeply sorry for letting you down! Please expect your refund in 1-2 days. Regards Energized Customs
  22. Mine wobbles a little on start up, but settles once running. Could be the start of it failing. Please let me know the price too.
