The only reason I thought mine was registered in Swindon was the plates are marked with Honda main dealer Swindon, but that could now be a later sale, not the first.

Wow, nice car. Same year as mine, and same ADO registration too! Swindon originated? Not seen the side skirts at that age, are they standard?

Run the car until it's hot. Close all vents, turn the AC on, and heat on full, not cold. The heat in the system will help eliminate the smell. Not sure if kills any bacteria lurking in the system, but it gets it hot and bakes it. I've had good results in lots of cars this way.

I love the look and shape of the rear end of our cars, but the Amber lens doesn't line up with the red boot panel! Perhaps I have OCD? I'm on a trip to the US later this year and might see if I can pick up a set of rear lights from over there. I've read somewhere on here that it has been done already, and with Amber bulbs, has gone through the MOT as well.

Not sure, I've had the car for about 6 months. I know it had a new transmission in 2003 though.

Just on start, little bit in D, but that's normal in most automatics I've had. When it's warm, it seems to start with no lurching.

Interesting post, my V6 seems to make the car lurch when it starts up. Is that normal or the start of something deteriorating? It too has just turned 100,000.

Saw a green V6 today and the chrome badges were blinged in gold! Is that a custom mod or an optional extra? Has anybody seen one before or maybe this owner is on here? I'm in Torbay.

I watched the first garage fill it,, and in hindsight, it looked like a top up, no oil or sealant was added, just gas from a bottle. I paid much for the second fill up, and so far, it was worth it.

When I bought my V6 in May, the a/c wasn't blowing cold. I got it pumped up and it lasted a week. They used a big bottle of gas and 2 lines. 3 weeks ago I asked a different garage who use the Bosch system to re-gas and this time it has held firm and blowing like a winter North wind. Asked about leaks, and they say the system won't allow it to regas if it detects a leak. Makes me wonder why it leaked out first time round though. Maybe one of the valves was a little sticky and allowed refrigerant out? Just wondering....!

I'm pretty sure it's been tuned, came with little history, bought cheap, skinny airbox, but no real performance issues, just pops a bit when pulling away.

Thanks Stu, while we are on the subject of the VTEC, what does it sound like and how do the revs react? My son in law has an S2000 which revs like crazy, pops and bangs all the way up to 8000rpm.

So the J30A engine..... What's considered normal oil consumption? Should it use any? Topped it up when I bought it. Only driven about 600miles, but had to top it up today with about 400ml. I've used 5w30 too, as I have 20 litres of the stuff and use it in my Vectra.

Update... Those ebay bulbs were a pig to fit, and too dim. They need to be brighter.

Just read this old post, and it looks like I have no diffuser /light cover for my number light, although the bracket holding the bulbs is still there. Are these obtainable? Stu, can you let me know where you get your spares from in the USA?

That's good. Took a bit of a punt on the size, as there's 3 different sizes. Never good buying stuff from ebay when you've had a drink or 3.

Oh, and to add, no I can't hear the motor whirring for the headlight washers. Presume it's all kept in the front wheel arch? Hopefully just blocked. Lol.🤣

Ha! Ordered some already off eBay, 10 for £2.95 let's hope they are the right size! Both of those buttons are no longer illuminated and neither is the odometer light. Also. I think the headlight washer jets might be blocked, or the motor is bust.

Where exactly is the central locking control unit? My Coop came with no remote fob, but feel pretty sure it did have one at some point in its history. Was thinking of splicing in a cheap remote unit off ebay - they've worked brilliantly over the years in a couple of Toyotas I've had- or is it better to get a second hand remote fob? Can they be reset to match the vehicle?

So, how often should the J30A timing belt and water pump be changed? I was told mine was done in 2016, but can only find a note that it was checked then, not replaced. I have found an invoice for 2006 showing it has had at least one change though. How much is it likely to cost? Would you go main dealer, or independent? I'm fairly handy with a spanner, but it looks a bit involved even for me.
