I keep thinking should I save it as I have all the bits to fix it, but it's the thought of dealing with all the unknown damage on the electricals. 😦 My biggest fear is a bodyshop B.S as everyone I've dealt with always lets me down sooner or later and I that point I'm in too deep.😔 1

Founding Member Retro Rich Posted October 21, 2022 Founding Member Report Share Posted October 21, 2022 Not the first time it’s happened either eh Stu, let’s not forget Matilda. Always down to shoddy work of previous mechanics. Don’t know why they bother 🙄 At least you kept it contained as it could have been worse. 2
Administrators hughezee Posted October 21, 2022 Author Administrators Report Share Posted October 21, 2022 Well, I have tried to fix the damage with parts from Project Baldrick, intake, throttle body, dizzy, fuse box etc. obviously I've repaired the offending fuel line properly.😡 Now the car is refusing to start and some lights on the dash and I can't get the scan tool to communicate with the ECU. 😔 1
Site Subscriber’s RevvinKevin Posted October 21, 2022 Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted October 21, 2022 Nightmare. Any wiring harnesses that can be swapped with Baldrick? Easier said than done I expect

I have replaced or repaired all the damaged wires I can find, with some sections from Baldrick and replaced the passenger fusebox and the neutral safety switch as a precaution.😩
Founding Member PaulS Posted October 21, 2022 Founding Member Report Share Posted October 21, 2022 Is it feasible that the heat in a wire (or a short circuit occurring in the fire) could have damaged the ECU? Can you swap that out too?

Can you swap that out too? During the fire and extinguishing the blaze several fuses had blown, so very likely the ECU suffered until I could safely remove the battery. I do have a spare ECU but I will need my Bosch scan tool back from repair to reprogramme it with the keys, but I only have the grey key anyway so it probably won't let me do it anyway.🙃
