  1. Welcome to the club. Yes, you are in the right place to share your trials and tribulations and there is plenty of support & advice for these motors on this forum. Long may your new joy run smoothly and cheaply!!
  2. I am sure your coupe sale went with a heavy heart though..., I miss mine!
  3. Hope you find a caring buyer after all the work you put into your coupe.
  4. fingers crossed for you...
  5. I used Cluster repairs in Essex for my Merc E350. They said my unit was not repairable and - without asking - sourced me a suitable replacement, presumably from a breaker for what I thought was amuch higher price than a direct breaker sale would have been! However teh replacement unit dod work faultlessly
  6. Indeed attention to detail and a laborious process; unfortunately one often without obvious result . But occasionally the problem is found and fixed that way even if you never notice any particular dodgy joint. But by doing so, even without any change, you know dodgy joints are not the cause of the problem, so can be ruled out, hence nothing to lose other than your time... Whilst separating plug in connectors, I usually spray on battery terminal protector grease on each removed end. That seems to stop future corrosion, plus makes the connectorsd easier to slide in and out. Just a thought... and I have never had any follow up problem after using it...
  7. I should add that the two 40 ft containers are joind together lengthways with the common sides removed & welded to make a single space which is lined & wood panelled and dehumidified . Just seperating them to move, then rejoining will be difficult enough - and they have to be well levelled when reassembeled.... Transporting as a single wide load is sooo complicated and expensive that it is not a viable option.
  8. Yes storage yard is closing, might - stress might - move elewhere but then only temporarily and move & move again. Not an option for me moving the 2 containers full of stuff. 3 other storage facilities locally have already closed so a lot of other people are having to move cars, motorhomes, caravans, trucks, minibusses, speed boats etc. Moving things one can tow is much easier than moving containers which have to be emptied and things put somewhere whilstthe move happens.... My Mitsubishi will find a new home somewhere as yet undecided (at least temporarily assuming I can relocate the containers). Same problem of lack of localish facilities . And I want somewhere dry & secure away from prying eyes and fingers....
  9. Unfortunately I have now lost my storage facility so my coupe has had to go. I am gutted after doing so much to get it back on the road. But now even if I did sort out the last few issues, I have nowhere to keep it unless on the road where it would not last long. But it has now gone to Stu who will use the many good bits to help keep other Coupes going that bit longer... It was a sad day as it went off on the transporter, loaded with all the useable coupe spares I had. I now have to find homes for my 2x 40' containers (no easy task!!) and my Mitsubishi. My Renault Laguna RT Auto will also become resident in a local breakers yard... And I have now found a new home for my car ramp in a local garage who will use it much more than I did and give me reasonable free access to it (well I gave it FOC to him!). A new era dawns for me.... But loads more stuff to find new homes for....
  10. Might not be related, but it would be worth checking the brake fluid level , just in case it means low fluid.... Rotted pipes could leak fluid...
  11. Whilst awaiting diagnostics it is worth checking water and oil levels too...
  12. Looks stunning, not too far from me either....
  13. Still not sorted the brakes, but more worryingly, the eccentric rotation of the drive shaft inner end which unless sorted will cause severe vibration at road speeds although OK whilst jacked up on my path. Out of ideas on that one.... all suggestions welcome as it is at least 1" out of true Had more than a few issues with my C240 that have sopped up time (and not much chance to do anything with our continual rain over the last 2 months....)
  14. if only my coupe problems were related to it being dirty....
  15. Your new suspension work looks lovely. But I guess you sweated buckets getting all those old rusty bolts undone...
