Offside rear tyre down in pressure,  hope it's not another puncture...tread getting low, might be in for a couple tyres soon..

Could it also be you haven't used it for a while and it's just leaked around the rim/valve?

Was following a RHD USA spec Odyssey today........... more available and affordable than an Elysin but without the V6. Tempting though!

I have been using it a fair bit in the last three / four weeks or so as the Volvo is being an arse and the Coupe is off the road !!!!.....got a lot on with vehicles at the moment.🙃🙃😂😂🤣🤣

Hmmmm, that's that theory gone with the wind then! :P

I've had similar in the past, if it hasn't been the valve core leaking i've resealed the beads using one of two possible methods. First is to deflate the tyre, push the tyre as far as possible away from the bead towards the centre and run a bead of black RTV around it (inside and outside of the rim), wait 15-20 minutes for the sealant to flash off then re-inflate and leave 24 hours before refitting to allow the RTV to cure.

Second method is to use TyreWeld or a similar product, drive the 20 minutes or however long it is and then check/adjust pressure to correct level.

Both methods are a pain to remove the tyre when it needs changing though. A lot depends on how much life the tyre has though.

Today, the second day without rain and very little wind, I decided to check on the rear lights, for water ingress.

Some time ago, a couple of years possibly,  I had a fishtank in one of the rear light units...

Today , I have TWO 😭😭😭😭 !!!!

Where is gets parked it get the full force of wind and rain and because its never let up for four months, apart from the odd days, both lights have pretty much obscured lenses.. the offside one has been like that for a few months, I keep taking the bulbs out to let it dry out but now the nearside one is the same....

The mot is on the 22nd so I need to get them dried out...looks like the hot air gun is favourite although a hairdryer is probably gentler !!!!!

Anyone else have the same problem???

Maybe a 3mm hole drilled in the bottom of each light unit will allow them to drain?

Have considered this....then seal up the hole again ?

Trouble is I can't find where it is getting in, got to be a seal, or maybe between the reverse light lense and the tail/ brake lense joint....

Leave it as a permanent drain, certainly until you find the source of the water ingress.

Could be anywhere, even around the door and traveling by capilliary action.

Today was a bottoming day for Elly....😜😜😜😜 ooh, err !

It is MOT day on Monday,  7.30am sharp, so everything got emptied out, washed, cleaned,  checked.

PS fluid down a touch,  need to keep an eye on that just in case we have a problem developing again.

Just got to give the wheels another go , last check on all mot bits and good to go , Monday

😛

Tackled the wheels saffy, using Bilt Hamber wheel cleaner they came up really well considering the neglect over the winter months .....and the "rainy" season we seem to have had 🤣🤣🤣🤣 tyres came good too with 303 Protecterant. Wheel arches mucked out too.

Door shuts, nooks and crannies , including scraping moss out of places I didn't know existed !! Headlights looked a bit cloudy so did the business on those too.

Good wipe around the cabin, re arrange the seating as they have been folded down all winter in working van mode. Got cobwebs off the dash and sun visors 😂😂😂....no idea where the little blighters are that did the deed but I expect they will have another go tonight.

Last job tomorrow is vac out the floor,  plus any cobwebs ! , and it's ready for inspection Monday 😇😇😇

Today I have checked over the front suspension after the tyre advisory on the mot...can't find anything bent but it definetly needs tracking.

Took the opportunity to raise the suspension one full turn on the front, it was still a bit low even after lifting it one turn on the platforms last year....neede to do this anyway before the tracking get done.

Tracking booked for Wednesday morning now....looks like its definitely out even just a visual check.

Amazed that it drives well, albeit with a slight pull to the left...should have checked it when the pothole got its way with the wheel !!,  might have saved the tyre 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Hindsight is a fantastic tool but, like many other things in life, too little, too late! :o

I can't count the number of times a strange noise/behaviour has happened and i've decided to see what develops instead of investigating immediately - usually ended up costing me! :o

Still not got the tracking done.

Booked into local place who then told me they didn't have the settings for it..Elly that is, ....

I said it's "zero"....they said they don't have the Elysion on the system..so I suggested they use the Accord or the Oddy...yes can do that BUT they can't tell if the actual setting is "zero".

What do you mean?

Well, apparently,  the system uses the model info, doesn’t tell the operator what the actual figure should be, it just uses its system information to determine how far to alter, number of degrees, the tracking to the correct figure !!!!WTF !!!!

Now it would seem to me that the operator should have access to the manufacturer required numbers for toe in/toe out because if the person that set up the tracker has input the incorrect figures how will you ever know if the vehicle continues to wear its tyres out unevenly?? The tracking is correct, mate,...yes but my tyre has worn on one side again!!!

Apparently Kwik Fart have one that the operator can input the correct degrees requirements into the tracker equipment..not looking forward to that...."you need to replace the disc,  pads.. and the shock is leaking, broken spring too, oh and you need two new tyres on the back...ahh,original exhaust, it must be leaking, cats shot. "

Do you know how it is set up, ...works ???

Very easily - short version is you position the laser unit to the right of the drivers wheel, mirror on the left and then move the laser to give a 0deg reading on the scale. Move the mirror onto the drivers wheel and read the scale, this gives the included angle of both front wheels so as long as the rack is central turn each TRE an equal amount, recalibrate and read again.

That's the simple version of the instructions, very accurate and easy once you get the hang of it.

Well, managed it OK,,,the first problem is the lightweight legs on the cross bar..the 18 inch wheels mean that the unit has to sit low, angling out the legs..couple of weights sorted that.

It was toe out 30 mins so about one turn of the tre.

Took the opportunity to correct the steering wheel angle too !! by adjusting the offside which turned out to have about 1/2" of thread showing compared to the 1" on the nearside 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Got it down to 6 minutes toe in at the end.... leaving it there ,,,,then will check all again in a couple of weeks.

I'm assuming you checked the rack was central in straight ahead position before doing the balancing of the TRE lengths? Had similar on my Volvo, when the TREs were equal length, the rack wasn't centred. Caused several problems! :o

The amount of toe out (0deg 30') wasn't much but could give you a bit of a pull and odd tyre wear, especially if the rack wasn't central. Should also make it more stable, especially under power. ;) :D

They ,tre, are slightly off centre to rack centre so still unequal lengths but not as much and at least the steering wheel is pretty much bang on centre !!!

Today I used the Elysion for the first time in two weeks,,,,started first time though, ...oops need fuel !!

150.9 for E5 at Shell.

The V6 power is lovely !!!!    Runs like a dream....I miss my Coupe though 😭😭😭

Although the Volvo is okay now it's not a Honda, pity there isn't a decent VED rated Tourer...without taxi miles on it 😜😜😜

Checked Elly over after a day on the road,,,perfect !!!...couple of tyres coming on though.

Well it will be when I fix the radio/camera unit...only been a year since it died !!!

Fitting wind deflectors from AliExpress. Rear (sliding) door ones are ok. The front ones don't fit 'perfectly' but I think it may just work. The car shown on the product page looked like my 2008 Prestige, but was listed as 2012 onwards. Maybe that's part of the issue.

Yes, the 2012 ish on version is made in China....maybe they changed the door profile.

The front ones are "tight" to insert but they do bend a fair way in warm weather,,,,,had a similar problem with the front on the Volvo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
