  1. Thanks for the heads up, I think I’ll just have the rear screen and rear windows done. I’ll contact my insurance company afterwards. Any ideas of the cost, presumably it’s just a film that cut to size and sticks inside...or is that too simplistic? Perhaps they use templates? Not sure if you would have one for my Legend though. 🥴
  2. As Lennie passed his MOT with flying colours, I thought I might treat him to some tinted rear windows. Don’t get me wrong, I want something subtle and not too drug dealer/gangster, just something classy. I think there’s a place by me that does it, I’ll investigate tomorrow.
  3. Just fitted new wipers, what a palaver. First you have to depress a little cover on top then the actual wiper blade assembly is held on by two small Phillips screws. Easy enough once you know what you’re doing I suppose. Then again, the screws are quite small so if you lose one then that would be problematic! Oh and before fitting them I cleaned the windscreen with a few squirts of Rain X. Tested them and all fine. 😊
  4. Lennie Legend is due his MOT next Friday so I thought I would treat him to some new wiper blades from Cox Honda. I must say these are great for parts having purchased my recent new wheel bearing from them, the wipers were only around £10 each plus vat and they’re genuine Honda parts too. What is weird though are the sizes: The drivers side is 27.5 inches long and the passenger side is a mere 18.7 inches long! Do any other Honda’s have weird length blades? (Dave oo matron)
  5. Happy to report that all is well with Lennie’s new bearing, nice now being able to hear the sat nav, radio etc. Happy Days.
  6. Good News! Lennie Legend now sounds like he should instead of a combine harvester, on a gravel road. Popped over to Stu’s earlier and he got to work on the bearing. I must say Cox Autoparts were great, the price of the bearing was reasonable (£117), it was a genuine Honda part and even better, it arrived a week quicker than expected. Right, back to the action shots... Here’s the bad bearing in situ just after removing the wheel: Followed by removing the monster calliper: Close up of the offending noise making bearing: Bearing removed, notice how dirty and contaminated it is, this was obviously cleaned thoroughly : Close up of old bearing: Brand spanking new sparkling bearing just out the box: And finally, new bearing fitted to Lennie: I’m happy to report that Lennie is now operating in stealth mode again and I can now hear the sat nav over the noise which was getting worse, despite driving and braking like a nun for the past few weeks. All is now calm, MOT due January and he should pass. Stu reckoned it had a few more weeks and it would have finally failed. The comparison - when you turn the new bearing in your hand to the old one - was really noticeable, the new one was tight and turned smoothly, the old one you could actually feel the grating and it wasn’t smooth either. As soon as Stu felt it he said “that’s toast”. Happy Days, I am somewhat relieved to say the least. Thanks again to Stu as always for spending a cold few hours fitting the new bearing! It was cold...I didn’t see my testicles until about 4pm! 😆. Be interesting to see the state of the innards of the old bearing too, I think they were literally ground to paste!
  7. Good news...had an email earlier from Cox’s to advise the bearing is arriving earlier than planned, it should be with me Monday, fingers crossed. The weight on the invoice is just over 11 lbs! 😯 Don’t think they’ll get that through my letterbox so I’ve asked for it to be dropped off at my neighbours. Quite relieved it’s arrived early before I do any catastrophic damage although I am driving gingerly.
  8. Easy does it chaps...driving Lennie Legend Like Miss Daisy at the moment, treating the brakes like glass and not gone over 30 MPH so far. Noise is definitely there although it subsides when I reduce speed. No steering wheel wobble yet, will park Lennie up at the weekend and use the wife’s CRV, just to give him a rest. Come on Lennie, hang on in there! Not long now until your lovely new bearing arrives....🥺
  9. I’m not wallpapering Dave, we’ve got a decorator coming next Sat/Sun to put the paper up. 15 rolls at £22 a roll! 😯 No, I’ve been stripping all the old nasty Anaglypta off with a steamer. Blooming hard work I can tell you. Today will be spent sanding down the final 10 feet of skirting board. Then Thursday we have a new suite coming, so fun and games at the moment. This time next week we should be relatively straight. Oh and I had to physically cut up the old three piece with a bow saw and take it to the tip as the charity I was giving it too wouldn’t take it due to a couple of broken springs! That was fun too. Anyway, today I need to pop out in Lennie...no driving above 30 and delicate braking is the order of the day! I’m just hoping the bearing holds out although apparently they can make noise for months and years until they eventually fail. I’m with the RAC and hopefully I won’t need to call them! ☹️
  10. Thanks for the tips Dave. As you would expect, I’ve not driven Lennie much today as I’ve been up to my armpits in bits of wallpaper, I’ve literally not long finished. The joys of having a 30’ lounge! So Lennie has been parked up resting, waiting for his new bearing to arrive.
  11. I’m hoping Stu it will hold out for a couple of weeks driving tentatively everywhere, ie 30 MPH or less. Presumably if / when it does decide to pack in the wheel will stop turning....or bounce down the road in front of the car. At least it will be on someone’s dash cam footage somewhere! 😁
  12. Well, I got home last night from work, kissed Mrs Geoff and said ‘Just popping to Stu’s.’ 30 minutes later, driving through the rain, I arrived at Honda HQ and took Stu for a drive. By this time I was pretty sure it was the wheel bearing, either that or I was suddenly driving a Tiger tank in Branston! The noise was immediately noticeable by Stu. So we drove back, Stu did a check to see if anything was getting hot on the wheel, tyre etc. Nothing. So Stu whipped out his mighty trolley jack and quickly had the wheel off, in the rain. Nothing was jumping out, nothing appeared to be rubbing, the disc was fine, as were the pads and calliper, nothing was rubbing on either the disc or the wheel. The analysis was that it’s highly likely to be the wheel bearing. Stu said he would get on it and I advised him the VIN number etc to start the ball rolling on sourcing the bearing. I was already sweating thinking that the part would cost a trillion pounds and would take months to arrive. He told me not to drive any distances and don’t drive fast until it’s fixed. 🥺 i texted Stu when I got home as he asked, just to make sure I made it. He then called me to say that although he found some, they were the cheaper ones and wouldn’t recommend them. He suggested I contact Cox Motor Parts as they are able to source genuine Honda parts relatively cheaply. Therefore in my lunch hour I emailed them and amazingly they can source a genuine Honda bearing for £117.07 including delivery! The part is on order and should arrive around 13th Dec. So mystery solved. My only hope is that the bearing holds out until Stu can fit it. I am driving like a vicar at the moment I can tell you! Thanks again to Stu for messing around in rain last night! 😊
  13. I drive the car every days Brett, only do 10 miles a day to work and back usually. I’m leaning towards fronts bearings, when doing say 30 mph and I put it into neutral, the noise is still there. Nothing when I stop, engine purrs as usual. So it’s something connected to the wheel. It could be a loose stone, unlikely to be pads I think as Stu changed them 12 months ago. Or it could be something completely different. All I know is that it sounds like a bag of nails when driving. I’ve got lots of things happening at the moment, new three piece suite coming tomorrow, sanding skirting boards as decorator is coming a week Saturday. I’m home from work in the week at 6pm when it’s dark so no time to do car stuff, unfortunately. 🙁 in any event, I’m popping over to Stu’s tomorrow night after work, pretty sure he will know what it is after driving it for a mile or two.
  14. Popped out tonight with the wife and she said “your cars making a funny noise”. The noise was coming from the front of the car and what could only be described as a slight grinding noise. When stopped in Drive nothing. So that rules out anything to do with the engine then presumably. I drove again and slipped the car into Neutral and the noise was still there. So not the engine or gearbox then? I though it may be a front wheel bearing, I wound the window down and no usual grumbling noise either. My detective head thinks it may be something to do with a wheel, maybe something is rubbing somewhere like the shield by the calliper? Before I seriously consider getting rid and getting something less complicated, any ideas anyone? cheers
  15. I do love gadgets and after discovering that my wife’s CRV has a TPMS system - and my Legend doesn’t - well, I had to go aftermarket and these are en route: The replace the dust caps and then transmit the pressures onto the display. I’ll report back when I’ve fitted them. Oh the display is solar powered too!
  16. I’d have it but it doesn’t have an ejector seat. Or ground to air rockets.
  17. See Stu, I do pick up things from you oh master Yoda. 😊
  18. Hi and welcome to this most excellent forum. I’m no expert but I think the brand is Blue Print, I may be wrong, I’m sure other members will pipe up with the recommended brand. 👍
  19. Pmsl. That price...according to one of my apps:
  20. There does seem to be a plethora of Legends on sale at the moment, doesn’t there? 🧐
  21. Hi Jay and welcome to the bestest resource on the wibbly wobbly for all things coupe and Honda. You’re in the best place for any expert advice from people who own and run these lovely motors. I’ve had two myself, currently run the Legend. Have a good look around the site and ask away. Oh and we love pics so post them up so we can admire them.
  22. That’s a sight for sore eyes, she looks lovely. 😍 Should have messaged me Stu and I’d have popped over and given it a cuddle...not you Richard, the car. 😀
  23. Yep, I missed it too. 😯 Welcome welcome to the Wikipedia of all things Honda, especially the lovely, rare USA made coupe. I’ve had two of them and they were both epic...although not as epic as my current Legend as I like my toys. 😁 Have a good look around the site and don’t be shy asking any questions, we’ve all been there.
