  1. I think Honda Legends are quality, the coupes are nice. Be great to see some pics. Is one going to be a donor car or will you be running them both?
  2. Good news. Lennie was at his uncle Stu’s last night from 7.30pm until 10.30pm having his new OEM front discs and pads fitted. News sparkly pads discs and pads from Honda, blimey, the discs are heavy! You can tell they’re quality. Here’s the first offending disc, the one with the pads in the wrong way round and we’re scoring the inside of the disc like a glass cutter: Here are the pads that come out, Stu commented that they look like Ebay jobbies and were crumbling and not in good condition: After having to grind the securing screws off the disc, here is the lovely new disc and pads fitted, everything nicely greased too (ooo errr Dave); And another pic; It was getting a little dark when Stu started the other side although he was delayed somewhat as the two screws this side were #&£@%# to remove, however, they were no match for the grinder and screwdriver. Needless to say, the brakes are spot on! You can certainly tell the difference and fingers cross, I’ve not heard that squeaking noise today either. Happy Days.
  3. Great stuff Graham. Yes, please send me some pics of the wheels, mine are the original alloys but two of them are severely curbed (see post on here) and getting just one is impossible. So a new set of four would be ideal. Click on the message icon above as you could send them to me on here? If not I’ll be happy to PM my email address. I need a few bits and pieces If you have them; Wheels. Covered above. Please send me pics. Passenger side auto dim mirror. Either the glass or complete unit as mine is cloudy. Windscreen strips that go each side of the windscreen. My drivers side one is damaged. Plastic/Chrome look rear passenger side bumper trim insert. Maybe front grille as the plastic/chrome on mine is not perfect. Good call regarding your Honda’s, the paper clip comment made me chuckle. I’m Honda through and through as is my wife. I’ve had four Accords, two Coupes and now the 08 Legend, which is my dream car after the NSX. Wife had a Civic and now has a CRV which she loves. I had to wait months to get the alegend and I very nearly had a Lexus 420 GS. When one popped up on my radar I had to have it. My view is you work hard and it’s nice to drive something special.
  4. Hi Graham, Glad you found us in our little part of the net. You’re in the right place for all things Honda related, especially the coupes, Accords, a Legends and other Honda engined motors. The forum is run by Stu who is the Honda Guru, no one lifts the bonnet on any of my cars (or the wife’s) except Stu. Don’t be afraid to ask any question no matter how silly and you’re sure to receive a swift and friendly reply from people who actually own and run these cars. Lennie Legend says Hello: Have a look around and you’ll see some Legend posts regarding wheels, rust and a secret diagnostic menu that I got all excited about but was shot down in flames as it’s common on other Honda’s. While I’ve got you you say you had/have a donor car, have you still got it as I’m desperate for a alloy wheel or even the full set. Or indeed any other bits you may have because as you’ve probably discovered, they only sold around 500 Legends in UK and getting parts is impossible sometimes without going to the states (Acura RL) or other side of the world. Welcome again Graham.
  5. Lennie Legend has been with his Uncle Stu since Thursday night tackling the rust spot on the roof caused by some muppet using bathroom sealant on the windscreen. Anyway, for the last few months or so I have noticed a squeaking occasionally when applying the brakes. Stu had already ordered the new pins that hold the pads in place as when he had the wheel off he noticed they were held in with a green house clip and a rusty nail! I kid you not. Withiut laughing, feast your eyes on these that Stu removed from my front Brembo callipers: This is the inside of the wheel, notice the slight groove where the pads have been scoring the disc, much like a glass or tile cutter. Yes, you guessed it. The incompetent muppet had used a greenhouse clip to hold the pads in and as he couldn’t get the pin through to the other side, he simply hammered it and bent it. Apparently two of the pins weren’t even in the holes! To make matters even worse, the @#£%@ had put the pads in the wrong way around. Therefore the bottom of the pad doesn’t sit right and effectively is scoring the disc which could cause a catastrophic event! Needless to say, new discs and pads are needed. So...Tune in next time for an update when Stu fits new discs and pads PROPERLY! Honestly, you wouldn’t believe it if you didn’t see (and hear) it! ?
  6. Yep, unfortunately, it would appear that ‘BATHROOM R US’ fitted the windscreen and used some spare silicone sealant all around the windscreen! Unbelievable. Anyway, Lennie’s roof is now rust free and luckily the Nissan “Dark Blue BW9” is a perfect match. ?
  7. Great stuff Brett, Stu said that too. Do you look at yours and mess with anything or leave well alone?
  8. I’ve messaged the guy in Australia above, thanks Dave. Seems weird going literally to the other side of the world for a wheel but hey ho, needs must.
  9. Yes again Guru Stu has cracked it. I was at Honda HQ earlier this evening and showed Stu the red error boxes above. Stu said “It’s probably because the ac isn’t on”, so I started the engine, turned the ac on and went to the secret menu and VOILA. They’re now green. Happy Days although I did tell Stu I knew that and I was testing him. ?
  10. ☹️ Still no joy with the wheel. I contacted a guy on Facebook called Niko who said he had one. Asked him cost etc and he went all quiet? Think I will cry now. ?
  11. Hi everyone, just looking around and happened upon an article and vid on You Tube about accessing a secret system menu via the navigation screen. Hmmm. So I pressed the three buttons required for above 5 seconds and lo and behind, there it is! From here you can look at various things, most of which apparently you should change like yaw settings for the AWD etc. Anyway, I went into the Navi System Link and apparently the AC and METER are red which means there’s a fault somewhere I then checked the AC menu and apparently too it’s DISCONNECTED, despite coming on when selected and blowing reasonably cold air? Any thoughts? Perhaps the codes needs to be checked for a relay or something? This is the initial menu you see when you access the menu, although this is from another Honda not mine, but it’s the same
  12. I think fixing it is the best way. There are quite a few in Birmingham, think I’ll spend a hour or two popping round to a few recommended ones. I’ve got a week off at the end of June so I’ll have a look then. ?
  13. Unfortunately no success. All I can hope for is that I see some listed somewhere and get them before anyone else. The other option is to pop to an alloy wheel specialist and see if the wheel if fixable. If not, then I’ll have to go down the road of a new complete set of after market wheels.
  14. Got a load spare Stu if you need any. ?
  15. My nice new 10mm clips arrived today, to replace the damaged ones be rude not to clean everything. New clips fitted and all the covers are now nice and tight Also siliconed all the rubber seals on doors, boot and fuel filler. Nice.
  16. It’s a lovely example, cracking motor. Less than 200 on the road I believe, may be less.
  17. That spring looks a little....crusty. It didn’t stand a chance with the wire brush and satin black.
  18. Lovely example, only Stu would know the actual paint code. ? Definitely needs a chrome tail pipe though. ?
  19. Hi EJ and welcome to the Wikipedia of all things coupe. Have a good look around the forum, there are loads of interesting articles and advice from people who own and run these glorious Ohio USA made coupes. I’ve had two myself, the 2.0 ES like yours and the V6. Now drive a Legend. Regarding posting in ages, use Post Images: https://postimages.org/ Welcome again and don’t be afraid to ask anything, no matter how silly, we’ve all been there.
  20. Of course David. My Stanley blade is at the ready.
  21. Back when I was a lad, the best systems were always separates. Separate turntable, amp, cassette (yes, cassette), etc and the Pioneer system I had had gold plated screws on the back and gold connectors. It costs around £1,000 from Kay’s Catalogue. Sold it a few years ago for £100 I think. ?
  22. Just bought 20 of these babies, should be enough:
  23. Think I’ll check Lennie’s too next time it open.
