  1. Opportunity too Stu to whip out the clay mitt? Looks bostin as we say in Birmingham.
  2. Think I’ll leave them on. When the sun is out again I’ll take them off and give them a proper clean. Needs to get some new clips first though. ?
  3. Quality not quantity counts with audio I believe. What’s the point of having thousands of watts blasting through a 12” incher. Ooo errr Dave. As well as the Honda Guru, Stu is also an Audio Guru too, so whereas the man on street with settle for a £50 jobbie that plugs straight in, Stu I suspect, will use specific, quality pieces to build the system to the best it can be. I’d rather listen to my Megadeth through a quality system at say 100 watts than through a shite system with 1000 watts.
  4. Lennie Legend’s engine is covered in plastic covers; My question is....In order to aid airflow under the bonnet, would you remove them? However, my simple brain is telling me: REASONS TO LEAVE THEM ON Some clever Japanese engineer designed these for the car, which presumably costs gazillions of yen to develop? Why then take them off? Perhaps they prevent heat from rising and damaging the bonnet paint? Presumably they are also noise reducing so you don’t hear the engine as much? REASONS TO REMOVE THEM They trap heat underneath the bonnet. Therefore removing them would allow quicker heat dissipation and allow cool air to circulate around the engine? They could hide leaks and things? They need to be cleaned all the time? Answers on a postcard please chaps.
  5. Great seeing you and Stu yesterday Brett, the lights look coolio. Be interesting if you could post up a vid from say a dash cam of the beam etc on a dark road. By the way, I got a clay mitt and used it earlier on the wife’s Civic. You were right, amazing result. Check out the thread. You finally met Lennie too, what did you think of him?
  6. Sounded like a bag of spanners, Lennie would smoke him, no sweat. Coming home tonight I thought I would give him some beans and I went from 30 to almost 60 within a few seconds. Brutal.
  7. Tesco wanted almost £1k for the Legend. ? So I went on the usual searches and came back with £450...you guessed it, with Tesco! So I called them and they matched the price. Get in.
  8. Spotted earlier tonight in Birmingham. Quick check and it’s the 2.0 with optional Heinz baked beans tins for exhaust pipes. ?
  9. Sweet. I’m no alloy expert but I’m sure he’s seen worse damage, he’ll be able to fix it with his eyes closed. Hopefully. ?
  10. Thanks peeps. Searched everywhere and there are no oem alloys anywhere. You’d think someone would have one in their garage. Anyway, Lennie is popping over to see his uncle Stu later for a diagnosis. Fingers crossed.
  11. My Legend is 2008 and unfortunately so are the maps on the Sat Nav! Sometimes it looks like im driving through a field or through a roundabout that has long since gone. I noticed this a few weeks ago driving back from Stu’s. The Sat Nav is CD ROM based in that the maps are on a disc located in the boot. Here’s my old disc labelled 2006; Now there are lots of websites selling updated maps, however, be aware that these are COPIES. Stu explained that with the copies the laser in the drive is continually going over the same spot thereby prematurely killing the CD drive as it’s reading the same spot over and over. End result is a new drive. A genuine Honda disc is the only way. So I started to look around, bearing in mind Honda wants stupid money. Fortunately I came across this and after doing a bit of research it is fine for Lennie’s Sat Nav; It arrived today. I ejected the old disc, inserted this disc and voila! Drove to the Shell garage for some V Power and all is fine, I now have 2012 maps! Moral of the story is to shop around and research stuff before buying. Happy Days.
  12. They look Brett, I’m going to try and pop over when you’re at Honda HQ, be great to see you and show off Lennie. Call me thicko McThick but my simple brain is telling me that your current headlights (specifically the reflectors inside) were designed for standard bulbs. If you fit these LED jobbies then won’t the light pattern be different? Just asking.
  13. Evening peeps, after hassle with a another leaking pipe in the bathroom I’m back on Planet Honda. If there was a crying emoji I’d use it here. As you all know, I love Lennie Legend and yesterday, when opening the rear passenger door to grab my rucksack, I looked down and noticed this.... Nooooooo. How did I not spot that when I bought the car? Anyway, the wheel appears to have had a good whack and the rim appears to have been pushed towards the tyre. The tyre is maintaining pressure though. Is it fixable? Is it worth fixing or just buy a new wheel, if I can get one? Beep Beep.
  14. Hi Andy, my simple brain is telling me that there’s obviously power going to the switch. Therefore, there must be something amiss with the power going to to the seat heater, which presumably is like an electric blanket ie lots of wires. Therefore; The seat heater element is shot. There is a loose connection between the switch and the seat connector. There is a fuse somewhere that has blown. I will be eating six chocolate eggs over Easter. Laird_Scooby aka Dave is probably laughing his socks off and will post a schematic diagram of the circuit with a fix involving some kind of witchcraft.
  15. Don’t think I’d be testing the brakes if you’ve got any snow lying around. Good luck anyway.
  16. Hmmm, I’m no paint expert but the rest of the car is bone dry. Surely you check the pictures before posting when selling a car though?
  17. The bonnet looks a bit rough too unless it’s the lighting?
  18. Ahh, I remember. We went to Blackpool in the Sterling, loved all the switches and the dash was orange I think. Far superior to the SD1 I used to have. Oh dear.
  19. Brilliant. Did I mention I used to have a Sterling? Loved it, jolly fast too, think it had a sport mode button.
  20. Welcome Roger, this is our part of the internet for everything Honda, especially the glorious coupes, Legends and other Honda powered stuff like the Rovers. Have a good looky around the site, there’s loads of information, tips and advice. Welcome again Roger.
  21. And I thought Ginsters were the real deal. Pleasure as always Stu, can’t go wrong with a Red Bull and a fake pasty. Man Food.
  22. Lennie Legend had a great day at Stu’s, he certainly runs a bit quieter and Stu said the MPG should increase a bit and the emissions should reduce too, so happy days. The main priority now the essential fluids are done is the rear differential fluid change and Lennie will be one happy Legend. As always, many thanks to Stu for his expertise.
  23. Lennie will be having most of his fluids replaced tomorrow and he’s looking forward to his spa day at Honda HQ. Yes he does talk to me...it might have been in German previously but he’s now speaking English. ill be taking pics at various strategic points along the way and post them up tomorrow. Off to bed. Beep Beep. Hondaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
