  1. Agreed Steve. I had alerts all over the place and I very nearly settled for a GS420. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice but I’d set my heart on a Legend. When one popped up on Auto Trader I was on the phone to the dealer in minutes and he was emailing me pics straight away. That was on a Saturday and I was there picking it up Sunday. Like the coupe, it’s nice to drive something rare and different and made better than almost every other car. Think I mentioned when I went to my local Shell last week (with attended service) the guy thought it was a Merc!
  2. Woo Hoo. Happy Days. Just a top tip when starting, turn the key to position 2 and wait for the D4 light to go out...then start.
  3. Ahh ha. The 10 speaker BOSE system (specifically developed for the Legend) is very clever in that it monitors road noise inside the cabin and then plays opposing frequencies to effectively cancel the noise. ‘‘Tis witchcraft. How the system works Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is designed to dramatically reduce low frequency noise in the interior. The system operates whenever the car is running, regardless of whether the audio system is on or off. There are two microphones in the cabin area. The microphones capture low-end drivetrain frequencies entering the cabin, and send a signal to the Active Noise Cancellation unit. The control unit then creates a precisely timed reverse phase audio signal that is sent to an amplifier, which powers the door speakers and the subwoofer positioned on the rear parcel shelf. In the frequency range below 100 hertz, ANC results in an impressive 10 dB reduction in noise level. Since the system is designed to cancel low-frequency sound, it doesn’t use any of the audio system's tweeters. The ANC dramatically reduces exterior noise. In the frequency range below 100 hertz, ANC results in an impressive 10 dB reduction in noise level.
  4. Oh dear. I did text Rich to make sure you have Red Bull on tap. Long day eh...9 hours?
  5. Very nice, looks in great nick.
  6. Agreed Dave, Lennie Legend will never see the inside of shit fit etc, as, with all my Hondas past and present, Stu is the only one I trust to mess underneath the bonnet. I do the Demon shining.
  7. Agreed Dave, can’t remember the last time I saw a car ‘on bricks’ as most cars have alloys these days. In the olden days they were usually only on the top end cars. Unless they’re expensive after market jobbies with expensive rubber I wouldn’t bother with locking wheel nuts. If I bought a locking wheelnut set then it would be from Honda.
  8. ^^^ what Dave said. Post some pics of the troublesome wheel nuts. If you’re after a V6 then message Stu. He also has a lovely red Integra.
  9. Damage to drivers seat bolster on the bottom left as you look at it is common on the coupe, pretty much every one has damage there I think. However, Stu is expert at repairing them and once finished, you wouldn’t know it was damaged as the fix is blended with the colour of the seat! Lovely. Have a look around the forum, most recently Purple Haze (my previous coupe), there are a few other threads too.
  10. Agreed, I think they look classy and modern, finishes off the rear end nicely.
  11. Hi and welcome to the Wikipedia of all things Coupe and Honda. My first priority would be to get the ATF changed by an expert (aka Stu) as Honda haven’t a clue when it comes to the correct fluids. Have a good look around the forum for lots of information, help and advice from people who drive these glorious cars, made in Ohio, USA. Welcome again. Beep Beep.
  12. Hi and welcome to the club, you’re now in the bestest part of the internet for all things Coupe and Honda orientated. We’re a friendly bunch and you’re sure to get an answer from people who actually own and drive these remarkable USA build pieces of metal loveliness. Have a browse through the sections, there loads of information and facts aplenty. Welcome again.
  13. I can confirm having been in it recently that’s it’s a lovely example, very smooth and in great condition. Rest assured Tom it will want for nothing.
  14. Mickey, personally, if I were after a coupe then I would wait for Stu to get back to you on Project Shimmer as you can rest assured all the important bits will have been taken care of, namely ATF, oil, etc. I certainly wouldn’t buy a coupe from anywhere else, irrespective of how cheap it was or low mileage (alleged) it has as you don’t know the history. The transmission needs TLC and the right ATF. My previous car was a V6 and it was literally almost consigned to the scrap yard due to transmission issues until Stu worked his magic on it. It took time and I think five or six part changes with the right ATF and it is now perfect. The recent new owner (literally had it last weekend) will testify that the transmission is “so smooth it feels like it’s in one gear!” Project Shimmer is mint inside and once the little niggles above mentioned by Stu are resolved, then you will have a cracking example.
  15. Mickey Murphy, trust me, Stu (aka Hughezee) will not release the car until he is happy with it. He treats all the cars he looks after as they were his own. As he owns probably the best and most sorted example of the V6 coupe in the country has very high standards and you can rest assured that when finished, everything will be in order. Don’t forget, the coupes are almost 20 years old so they’re going to have a few blemishes here and there but you can be absolutely certain that the engine and gearbox (if looked after) are bomb proof. I’ve had two coupes and until you’ve had one, you don’t appreciate what great cars they are. They’re worth the wait.
  16. Come on then Richard, you’ve had Fenella now for 24 hours, how’s she riding?
  17. I think it switches the box to 2nd gear when you pull away to avoid wheel spin, I think it also casts witchcraft into prevent too much torque going to wheel. Perhaps if it detects wheelspin it cuts power? However it works it’s
  18. Morning all, it was a tad nippy last night with some snow and both Lennie Legend and Herbie Herbster we’re covered After scraping I thought I would try Snow Mode: Yes, it did make a difference on the slippery side roads. Car was lovely and toasty in no time too.
  19. As a temporary measure, I have stuck a length of black electrical tape along the top of the windscreen. It’s hardly noticeable, I overlapped about 5mm onto the paint and made sure it stuck properly. This should stop water entering the top of the windscreen for the time being. Just looked outside and it’s snowing.
  20. You’re honoured Richard as Fenella’s been well ‘run in’, her ‘fluids’ are regularly replenished, she squirts when you press the right buttons and goes like train when you push the pedal.
  21. Come on then Richard, how was the drive back with Fenella (ex Purple Pimple/Haze)? Good??
  22. If I had the room I’d have it as my summer toy to thrash down the country lanes scaring the horses. Only kidding, I do slow right down when I see horses. Honest.
  23. Personally, like Purple, I prefer a motor to be mechanically sound with the correct fluids etc and run great and be a good, honest example. The mint interior is nice to have too. Therefore, again personally speaking, I’d go for the quick turnaround option which would also free up valuable drive space too. Mint interior, fluids done, fresh MOT and good wax. That’s it.
