What Have You Done To Your Coupe Today

Well I don't seem to be able to post in the What Happened @ Honda 6 HQ Today thread but let me tell you what really happened.

An innocent enough message from this guy Hugh or Stu about a fuel pump relay and before I know it I'm on the A38. (Some kind of mind control?) Then I'm held hostage and given cups of tea and chat all day while Hugh/Stu fits the new relay, changes the PAS fluid, swaps out a knackered engine mount, fits a new wiper linkage and then has the nerve to change both aux belts because he was worried I might not get home. And he checked for fault codes!

All this so he could try out some new gloves!

Over and above service Stu. Thank you very much. Lovely to meet you, Mrs Stu and two fifths of your children. And you were very polite about my car ;)

Apologies Richard, you need to be a member of that section, you can request to join but I have sent you an invitation now.👍

I enjoyed today and it was great to meet you and the motor (it is a nice motor) although I am still not sure if you enjoyed the visit to Honda 6 HQ. 🤔 I will sort out some suitable seating and cake and biscuits if you ever decide to come back. 😆

So spurred on by this weekend's work by Stu it's going up on the ramps this afternoon (carefully!) and I'll get the engine oil, oil filter and ATF done over the next couple of days. I have to fit these jobs in between work that, you know, pays the bills ;)

But I did find time to fit these...

Only cheap things so I'll keep an eye on them but lift the back end err... no end.

Nope, just recognised the exhaust flange. 👍

This one doesn't seem to have an O2 sensor, should it? To be honest, I'm not bothered as I wanted the tail section really, but it appears that the cat convertor is still in situ. My existing mid section that's on the car has been made up by an exhaust specialist (prior to me buying it) but does have an O2 sensor screwed in.

Is this not the catalyst?

I was going to say "Its C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S!!!!!" but we're a few months short of that.

I wondered about it being an exhaust system but had a brain fart and thought there would be two long pipes so ignored the idea! 🙄

The seller had to remove the tailpipes and secure them separately on the pallet. Very well packaged for transport.

The downstream lambda/ 02 sensor screws into the Catalytic converter, I would be surprised if they included the CAT with the other exhaust sections?

You're right! Not for the price I paid!

Swapped out my bust rear cluster. One from ebay was ok apart from one or some previous owners must have washed it with sand paper as the lens is pretty grazed over compared to my popped one. Might look at options to polish that up. Presume similar approach as headlamps?

But whats with that black lug and the grey junction box stuck on it at the rear, what a pig.

Was that the ebay unit I linked ?

If it is then it's the same place I got my climate control unit, must be breaking a V6.

Shame about the lense, ??, isn't great but some plastic polish should bring it back presuming it isn't deeply scratched ?

Is the rear of the unit different to your original then?

It was thanks, not an awful lot of choice out there eh. There's a couple breaking V6s. Sometimes if you put it on as 'watching' they'll send a reduced offer price the next day. This one didn't, but the guys breaking the black v6 do.

There's a wiper mechanism and motor up but its £35

No, just a black lug which is part of the rear moulding that a grey box slides onto. But nothing to obvious to pinch it to release. One from ebay was snapped off. Managed to slide mine of eventually, with a bang though.
