  1. Bloody Hondas. Nothing but trouble
  2. I don't know about you Matt but I spent an awful lot of time just staring at it, lovely looking car. I hope you continue to enjoy it.
  3. Well I'm sad to say someone came to look yesterday, left a deposit and they're coming back in the week to pick it up. I mentioned the forum and Stu more than once and will try and steer him towards here when I see him again. A real shame as I've hardly had time to play with this car at all. I nearly got in touch with the buyer Friday evening to say I'd changed my mind but I have to be sensible. For once. So thanks all, especially Stu. And hopefully this will just be a temporary leave of absence.
  4. Well it turns out I'm a victim of that old chestnut - losing my storage. Full story is that for years I've had about 1500sqft to play with but in a few weeks I'm moving the business to smaller premises and I just can't physically fit the cars into it. So I'm afraid the Honda in all likelihood will have to go. And the Saab. This isn't an official "For Sale" thread yet but if anyone's interested then give me a shout and we'll take it from there. Bit pee'd off if I'm honest but needs must and the ££££ in rent we're saving can't be ignored.
  5. Agreed. The standard pipes on mine are tiny 55mm things. The exhaust tips make it look so much better.
  6. Front obviously sits a little higher now but I can live with that. Certainly rides better. Already had one or two hey granddad and monster truck comments in my little corner of Twitter
  7. I've kept it at the same pressure as the standard 16s which I think is still only 32psi. As the Civic wheels are an inch larger and a touch wider if anything I should probably put a pound or two more in. The other issue is jumping from the Coupe and into the Lexus with its 16s and foot of sidewall!
  8. Fastest colour apparently. Even when the paint's half an inch thick on the bumpers Having the original springs put back on the front tomorrow. I'd booked it in, then thought it was OK and could live with it, then crashed down some very minor pot holes this morning and decided to go ahead with the original plan. The thing is I think it looks just right as is but as far as driving it is concerned I don't spend the entire time on lovely smooth swoopy fast roads on which it feels perfectly at home. Hopefully it won't spoil the look too much.
  9. Try to ignore the poorly Nissan.
  10. I can talk openly about it now because my wife found out yesterday. Hello. My name is Richard and I keep buying old cars...
  11. More than likely. The car has been in the wars a bit. It's had a bad paint job done on both bumpers so it could just be down to the fitters ineptitude.
  12. I really should pace myself but the car does seem to appreciate the attention. Went for a little run into the Peak District with a couple of the kids and it's running extremely well. Next thing I need to turn my attention to is the bodywork. Needs a good polish and the rear bumper could do with refitting as it's quite a bit out where it meets the rear wings.
  13. So in the space of a few days I've done the oil and filter, coolant, ATF, plugs, cleaned up the engine bay and put the correct Accord badge on. Add that to all the work Stu did for me last week and I suppose all that's left is to drive it... I should think about the cam belt as I've no record of it being done but that's beyond me. Maybe another trip to Honda 6 HQ is in order Oh, getting the standard front springs put back on next week. It's just too crashy round town. If it stays nice this weekend I'll try and get some more pictures up.
  14. Hello knowledgeable types, Is there a coolant change how-to on here somewhere? Took the expansion tank out to get at the bulbs and couldn't help noticing that it appeared to be largely water.
  15. So spurred on by this weekend's work by Stu it's going up on the ramps this afternoon (carefully!) and I'll get the engine oil, oil filter and ATF done over the next couple of days. I have to fit these jobs in between work that, you know, pays the bills But I did find time to fit these... Only cheap things so I'll keep an eye on them but lift the back end err... no end.
  16. Very much enjoyed it Stu! It was a great day.
  17. Well I don't seem to be able to post in the What Happened @ Honda 6 HQ Today thread but let me tell you what really happened. An innocent enough message from this guy Hugh or Stu about a fuel pump relay and before I know it I'm on the A38. (Some kind of mind control?) Then I'm held hostage and given cups of tea and chat all day while Hugh/Stu fits the new relay, changes the PAS fluid, swaps out a knackered engine mount, fits a new wiper linkage and then has the nerve to change both aux belts because he was worried I might not get home. And he checked for fault codes! All this so he could try out some new gloves! Over and above service Stu. Thank you very much. Lovely to meet you, Mrs Stu and two fifths of your children. And you were very polite about my car
  18. Not at all. I probably wasn't clear. I was able to to tell them what parts I needed 👍
  19. Ah, OK. We'll see what I get then. There's me talking to the young lad in the parts department and going "Well hughezee on the forum says..."
