  1. Hello all, due to lack of time and local driving so not feeling the need to change the stat(I know it’s very stupid of me). However with that said I just wanted to give you an update on the overheating......it’s just stopped overheating all of a sudden!?!?! I did a long run of 18miles through London last night and it was fine. Any thoughts/advice.
  2. I am so impressed with the US Amazon Prime service.....ordered the Stat on Monday and it arrived today. Also, the stat comes with the O ring. Ordered the O Ring from Honda on Tuesday and they said delivery tomorrow and I called today and the ring was still in Belgium. What can I say🙄
  3. Thank you mate for the time you put in to responding in so much detail....very much appreciated. I’ll keep you updated. off to order the o ring now
  4. Another question.....in the manual it says to replace the o ring. I know it makes absolute sense to do this from a maintenance aspect as it probably is the original ring. Is it a must or advisable. As I’m writing this I’m convincing myself I should replace it. Also what is the order in I should replace the stat ie loosening rad cap, removing rad pipes, bleeding post replacement etc
  5. Not pulled it yet....will do it after I get the replacement on Friday. I’ll keeping the driving down to a minimum until then ie less that 3 miles from cold.
  6. Thanks for all your advice. I’ve ordered the Gates stat for cost and also the fact that I’m undecided if I’m getting rid of it before October when ULEZ kicks in.
  7. Hello all, sorry I’ve not been around in a few months.....all I’ll say is the stresses of life and work. Wanted some advice on overheating. Last night the coupe started getting a high temp(bit like me at present post Astra Zaneka jab from last night). In traffic it started rising and it hit the red mark. When I put the car heater on the temp came down immediately on either hot or cold temp. Whilst driving with the heater fan on the temp was in the middle and then in traffic started creeping up. Radiator is topped up (from Stu 4 years ago....I know it should have been flushed by now) and I filled the expansion tank with plain water this morning up to the Max line. This didn’t help either. Both radiator fans come on too. Any suggestions?
  8. I’ve just answered my own question......yes you have considered the Maxx RT and fitted are £118.52 at National Tyres. I did 20k on my last set. Excellent tyre
  9. Have you considered the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT? I’m on my 2nd set and they have excellent grip and road noise reduction is impressive. I had all 4 changed in Jan 19 for £311 which included £14 for insurance for 2 tyres. I’ve already claimed on one of the tyres in Jan/Feb this year for a sidewall bulge and got a free replacement.
  10. They’re the ones. However I will say that they need a VERY firm push in to the holders and can loosen every now and then.
  11. As soon as I saw the the first picture of the bulb I was confused as these are the ones I use in my rear Depos cluster(as Stu pointed out). I have chrome coated ones of these as well and with the the black plastic part too.
  12. These are what I have on mine: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Philips-SilverVision-Silver-Vision-PY21W-Indicator-Car-Bulbs-Twin/253306500969?epid=1832722819&hash=item3afa3e7769:g:2fMAAOSwp0ZemC0T Bought them in 2008 and fitted them to my previous CG2 and then transferred them in 2012 to the current one and still going strong.
  13. This looks genuine https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-ACCORD-COUPE-2-0-AUTOMATIC/284038339399?
  14. I hope You’re able to keep her on the road. Can you remind me of the shocks and springs set up please?
  15. They really don’t know what they’re missing! Bought mine for £1,650 8 years ago with 43k on the clock and it’s just had its 100k birthday. It’s not failed me once (except whilst starting a couple of times) and all I’ve spent money on is on a couple of mods and maintenance. Now that’s what I call excellent value for money!
  16. Sorry to hear about the leak and issues. You have just prompted me in to looking in to my leak in more detail. Also just ordered some Smith and Allen oil and will order some stop leak of some kind. good luck
  17. This one looks good and with the original skirts. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1201010
  18. Everyone I speak to is amazed at the size of the coupe boot.....it’s like a mini Tardis. Did 7 days in Cornwall and 3 of us packed for a month and the boot was full to the brim. The car pulled like a train still (as Geoff would say). My sister in law suggested taking 2 cars to the beach one day as she assumed her SUP board bag and another sizeable bag along with other beach stuff wouldn't fit in the coupe. She was amazed and so impressed that everything packed in nicely. This is all with a 12” subwoofer enclosure as well. Such a practical and understated coupe.
