  1. In the early days of my current Triumph ownership I had a similar noise. Turned out to be loose caliper bolts allowing the carrier to rock back and forth when brakes were applied. Stu and I were flabbergasted when we realised it. Iโ€™ve not seen it on any car since however.....
  2. Not too sure about that. If you find an even better oil I can switch to that ๐Ÿ˜‚
  3. I recently ordered a new 20L container of Smith & Allan 10-30 mineral. Never bother with anything else these days ๐Ÿ˜‚
  4. Lovely car. Looks similar to the Nissan Bluebird, especially with the wheel styling.
  5. About 3 miles or so from me in Chellaston and certainly not far from Burton Honda6 head quarters. Welcome ๐Ÿ˜Š
  6. I just found a great car on Auto Trader, surely a beautiful car to keep ๐Ÿ˜ https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202012157106919?
  7. Just read the article. This gave me a wan smile... Aptero co-founder Steve Fambro, told the Independent: โ€˜40 miles doesnโ€™t sound like a lot but itโ€™s the equivalent of parking your car and having it magically fill up with two gallons of gas overnight.โ€™ last time I checked the sun is over the other half of the planet overnight ๐Ÿ˜‚
  8. The government(s) have perfected the art of diversionary tactics. Knowing full well that diesels were dangerous, foul smelling vehicles, that although put out less C02, gave copious amounts of NOx and particulate matter that they knew would be inhaled by all mammals. They are doing exactly the same with this EV fiasco. Goodness only knows what natural balance worldwide EV production will upset.....
  9. We may even find (dare I suggest it), that the electric recovery vehicles donโ€™t make it home either. Sorry, we spent the juice winching your car onto the trailer ๐Ÿ˜†
  10. I have noticed this a lot lately too. So annoying, especially if no work is actually being done.
  11. There really are some beautiful old Honda's out there..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Prelude-Mk1/203177164536?hash=item2f4e4d7ef8:g:HgsAAOSwO~lfrEeO https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-prelude-mk1-retro-rare-classic-collectors-1982-gen1-hondamatic-18K-MILES/284075369179?hash=item42243622db:g:CdwAAOSw2OlfqoFS
  12. Urghhh No! I donโ€™t like any of them. I did wonder if my age suggests my deviance toward older vehicles, but NO! The older ones look better and frankly are built better too ๐Ÿ˜‚
  13. I have found Rock Auto extremely useful as a search tool. Iโ€™m a bit twitchy about cheap always being good though. In my experience, pay cheap, pay twice ๐Ÿ˜†
  14. This is scary stuff. Itโ€™s something Iโ€™ll be watching out for if I work on any car ๐Ÿ˜ณ
  15. The only other car I would want to purchase in my life. I absolutely love it ๐Ÿ˜
  16. ......Thinking the gold would look nice on my dark blue Accord.....
  17. I remember about 5 years ago I went into a Chinese takeaway and a man was wearing a T shirt and it proclaimed that there are two types in life.... Those that own a Volkswagon and those who wished they owned a Volkswagon. I didn't say anything, but gave him a look that I hoped he took as incredulous ๐Ÿ˜€
  18. Talking of Stereos, I decided to put the original Bose system from my previous Coupe into my current Coupe, as I'd like to keep it looking "Stock Original". I started by removing the Mexican built speakers in the boot and replacing them with the Bose speakers and then I decided to mount the CD changer in the same place as the existing one. Making more holes is not something that appeals to me greatly..... Moving to the front of the car, I removed the door cards and removed the speakers, replacing with the Bose ones. I took the time to clean the Cavities (it didn't need much) and squirted a load of wax seal into all the gaps I could find. (I would love a compressor driven wax gun with an omnidiectional nozzel ) but the aerosol will have to do ๐Ÿ™‚ I also noticed the drivers door splash light lens has been damaged in the past and repaired with glue, so I'll try and source another. Lastly, I stripped out the dash center console and luckily all the original loom was intact allowing me to place the head unit straight in. Also simple, if not time consuming was the running of the CD changer cable to the boot. It's all been tested and sounds fantastic. I also managed to replace the clock bulb and that is working perfectly too. Very happy. Some pictures below... Also I have a question. The last photo is of a black box mounted in the boot with a coil or transformer inside. It's marked up TDK and that made me think of an audio crossover or something. Does anyone know?
  19. I'm happy to have a look at this at some point. It would be like stepping into old slippers as an ex television engineer ๐Ÿ™‚
  20. Can you imagine the price weโ€™d all pay have oil change at our local dealers and not knowing what oils they may be using ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†
  21. I have one of those too. Itโ€™s just full of oil that I need to take to the recycling centre ๐Ÿ˜†
