  1. The eBay link lead me to this after a couple more clicks https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F392108682425 Which got me thinking about the chrome bumper trims. Do the coupes have these? My Legend certainty does. Car SOS used a company that can paint spray a mirror finish on to plastic but wondered if this chrome tape would be a viable alternative. Anyone else had experience of "rechroming" plastic trims?
  2. Can't believe it took almost 14 minutes for him to discover the VTEC roar!

  4. Can't see the pics! Says they've been removed?
  5. Wheels stand out nicely with that body colour. Matches the spoiler too. Is that factory? Would have thought it would be colour coded if so.
  6. How about an hybrid? 300bhp V6 and an electric motor and battery pack = extra horsepower boost when required. Add a 3ph generator, inverter and braking regeneration and wave goodbye to any boot space. Anyone fancy doing a power to weight calculation to see if the extra weight would out weigh the extra power?
  7. With the unit on the kitchen table it's time to disassemble. Remove 5 Phillips screws, 4 at the back, 1 centrally at the front. I removed the screw on the black box (microphone interface) which helped later but wasn't necessary to get the grey cover off Unclip the the tabs around the edges. Remove the cover. Unplug the black box (LHS) and at the rear. Take out the 8 or so srews holding the PCB board down. Remove the board. The offending switch (push button) is SW113. (SW114 is the rear headrest dropper). Not much chance of spraying liberally with contact cleaner and I didn't fancy unsoldering it either. With a multimeter on the test points at the switch base. I repeatedly operated the button. Meter read varying values of resistance with each press and occasionally beeped with zero ohms. A few more presses and a bit of compressed air I got a beep with every press. Reassembled in reverse order and plugged back in to test. SUCCESS! refitted back in the roof aperture after refitting the 2 black plastic push clips which I removed earlier to prevent loss. Again, pushing the unit against the spring tabs at the front, pop the back tabs under the headlining and push up into place. Refit the 2 screws and the lamp cover. VID_20210405_161801.3gp
  8. Ok. Found time at the weekend to tackle the overhead light/switch console on the KB1. 1st step. Removed the lens. Flat blade slots to the rear, 1 each side. That revealed 2x8mm hex securing screws. With the screws removed pull down with finger nails under the edges. Push the whole unit towards the windscreen and remove from the lining back/rear (closest to the sunroof) first. Unclip the multi pin connector To be continued........
  9. A very well written guide and easy to follow. Thanks for that
  10. My powered window blind had become less hit more miss when I pressed the roof mounted switch. Always goes down when reverse selected though. I suspect a faulty switch as it doesn't feel quire right. Big question is, how do I remove the all the trim/surround so I can get to the switch to test it please?
  11. Meant as a spares donor, not to get back on the road.
  12. Link to 9 listings was included This is particularly low milage example https://www.gumtree.com/p/honda/2009-honda-legend-3.5-vtec-48k-fsh-lpg-great-condition-295hp-awd/1398628171
  13. Quite a few Legends too https://www.gumtree.com/search?search_category=all&q=Honda Legend&search_location=Nn1
  14. Wrong colour interior for me. BUT, if someone has the storage space, I'd be willing to co-own it and arrange transport if need be
  15. Can't see anything on oil filters for the KB1. Do you have a Honda part no. Or a highly recommended alternative please?
  16. Think we need to be aware of the reg & colour etc. In case it does reappear in the market place
  17. I read that it locks the diff's to allow torque to be shared equally to both wheels on the same axle and is limited to a maximum speed of about 50mph or so. Must do a whole lot more though, I'd say. Speaking from a very recent experience, it works brilliantly propelling one forward in a straight line but cornering is still very precarious. Think probably due to my lack of experience with ATM and no handbrake!
  18. Cryistic, It wasn't advertised! Right time right place I guess. I'd been looking to replace my 525i for a while but didn't really know what I wanted. I went window shopping one day and saw it, literally, in the window. I had to go in to ask what it was even. I'm a Northamptonian, moved away in early 90's
  19. Kelvin, I live in Kettering, work next door to the Aquadrome! You'll have to call by for a coffee. Oh, we can't 'til after lockdown
  20. Yes, a local dealer in Burton. Previous owner for 2 years also from Burton. Haven't heard any bad reports about Orbit Tyres, thinking about getting a 4 wheel alignment check. Hughezee, how adjustable are the rear wheels? Easy enough for average garage or more specialist?
  21. Not sure what part of the country you are in Geoff but a guy in Northampton is a whizz at aluminum welding. I had a buckled inner rim on an Audi that was sorted by Mick Tee. Company is Precision Welding Northampton Ltd. NN5 5AX. The correct amount of heat to straighten and a bit of weld filler, matching and a respray. Job Done. He doesn't do the refinishing though (I think)
  22. Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade, but too much electrical tape and not enough (i.e. none) heatshrink tubing. Tape will get warm or hot and will unravel eventually. Self amalgamating tape would be preferable to PVC.
  23. Geoff, don't the blinds work any longer? I had my 5 Series windows tinted with full privacy tint. Great in the summer, not so great at night when reversing though! Having said that, it was camera less, unlike the Legend. Local company charged me £125 to tint (3 years ago) how much was Lennie's tint Geoff?
  24. The garage that sold me the Legend said it didn't have a drivers handbook (manual). I emailed Honda (UK) and they emailed me an electronic version if anyone wants a copy I will gladly forward on. Before it arrived, Honda took a couple of days to respond, I found my non virtual handbook and satnav owners manual in the glovebox "hidy hole". Just where Honda intended
