  1. Anyone any idea what bulbs I need for the coupe? I bought some silver PY21w bulbs but they're normal bayonet fitting and mine definitely aren't! They are now in the Vivaro looking better than the orange ones but I really wanna fit silver bulbs in the Accord!
  2. Nice to hear other people still go for a drive for no reason other than enjoyment, top work Stu. I have lovely minor roads to get to some parts of the county or back that allow full throttle and sweeping open bends, lots of extra miles but that's what it's for eh?
  3. H&R springs with a 35mm fall and kyb shocks, which are slightly stiffer damped than standard when you go through the specs.
  4. I'd have loved it working - I've done 30,000 miles in half that time in a black car with black leather. It needed it! So I had a ponder yesterday and as far as I can remember, since I've owned the car, it's had - Wheels refurbed properly. New shocks and springs. New discs and pads, front and rear. Some new brake pipes. Main relay. Four gearbox oil part changes. Numerous engine oil changes. All the other servicing like plugs, pollon filter etc. Everything working as it shoul now apart from the AC which has been 'fixed' and worked for half a day. There are Depo rear lights, clear sides and a different grill... I could go on and on.
  5. I sat looking at her tonight - she drives too well to break BUT the paint is the real issue when it comes to future value. New discs fitted... etc etc etc
  6. Sadly, it not weldable. It was up on the lift yesterday. Tom says he could cut some metal away and sleeve it but it probably wouldn't last were it is. So it's probable that on Tuesday I'll drop it off to him and he takes the centre section off, then gets the local fabricators to make an identical piece up. Franklin's Silencers are a decent company and just up the road. Fingers crossed that it all works out.
  7. The middle section had to be welded on a weld before and the joints are not something I'd want to part if at all possible. So it's going up on a lift on Fri, to see if it can be welded in situ. It cost me £40 for the last weld but I'm not so optimistic this time.
  8. Turns out its a snapped weld on the centre piece Y joint - not too corroded but obviously not brilliant.
  9. Well mine has decided to give up the ghost - I'll get under there tomorrow and have a listen bug I think it's around the rear driver's silencer. The mot is due next month as well
  10. I think you pretty much described my car there. The body is rust free, the mechanicals are sorted (apart from the aircon which is proving problematic) and it's debadged. Well, apart from a VTEC badge in the aftermarket mesh front grill, oh, there's different rear lights and side indicators too. Plus full control Bluetooth headset etc. Yeah, it doesn't look great and I hate washing cars but it's flippin' loved. It's had brakes, discs, pipes. Springs and shocks. Cambelt and waterpump. So many oil changes! Gearbox oil sorted, ECU reset. All the electrical niggles fixed. Wheels refurbished professionally. The list goes on and on. I paid £700 for it and then the investment starts to mount but the paintwork will always let it down. I may yet paint it matt black.
  11. Finally a coupe with paintwork worse than mine!
  12. There's a reason you bought the later one Stu 😀
  13. Well, the Coupe did it's last day at work - from tomorrow there's a Vivaro for carting all my work kit about. I'm going to miss the easy power to overtake, not miss the lack of go after a tight bend leaves you out of the VTEC range, miss the general loveliness of driving around town with an autobox but not miss the sometimes 12mpg 😂 She's been abused at work and carries the scars but it's been fun for sure. She's now insured and taxed for a year in retirement and a 5k mile limit.

    Welcome Tanner's.
  15. Nice purchase there Stu. It'll eventually be parts availability that kills a lot of coupes but at least you're going to be ahead of the game.
  16. Yeah, the age is the issue I guess - I've just bout a 61 plate van for the same money that's super clean and low miles with full history. It'd be right nice tho 😁
  17. I had a Becker head unit for a while and the radio reception on that was seriously good. Same Ariel as the previous head unit, a high end Alpine thingy but dear me, the Becker wiped the floor with it on radio. Not a lot in it when it came to Cd playback mind. I think part of the issue for my coupe is being so flipping low compared to SUVs and living on the very bottom of the Nene valley floor. That's useless for DAB and even after returning to FM in the current Kenwood unit, it's still crap when I get near home. Currently, adventure podcasts and Fever333 are my go to accompaniment, so it matters little anyway 😀
  18. The rear window heater works fine - no interference when it's on either. It's just really poor reception. Stu said it happens with different head units sometimes, I've had both Pioneer and Kenwood in there and both have been the same.
  19. The rear screen, which is apparently the problem. I just use a radio app on my phone, so it's not too much of an issue.
  20. I've still got poor reception on the radio despite a new Kenwood head unit.
  21. Cleaned the leather and all the interior yesterday, now it's not a work vehicle it's worth doing properly. This is the current fleet. Oh, and two boats!
  22. It's alright - I've been using litre after litre of rustkiller over the years and I think there's something to the idea that they've been hindered by current regulations. My favourite, and it seems to be working a treat on the boat is Fertan. It's a bit messy and definitely harder to use than the vactan types but seems infinitely better in its rust killing and conversion.
