  1. Reminds me i need to whip off my noise box, i mean cone for a clean.
  2. And i thought my gearbox sump plug was pretty gunked up, you win on that count. I believe my gearbox sounds similar to yours as you've described. It's basically the Achilles heal of these cars if not fully looked after and since we haven't owned them from early on there's not a lot we can do. Mine though has improved gradually and depending how i drive it the gear changes aren't noticeable. But other times theres the over revving and jolts esp when cold. Which is forgiving with age. Persevere with the changes and as Stu has mentioned throughout this forum to us all it's generally after the 3rd change you get more of a feel for the difference. Basically down to the volume of oil changed. Not recommended on here when asked i dropped some lucas anti slip/leak into mine, i figured i had nothing to lose since it was doing my head in and i think this has also helped. I'm on the carlube u also. So interested in how the better stuff makes a change.
  3. Just had an arguement with my mates who have gone on a hard line bike or bus kill the car etc or only use for essential journeys. They were pleased about recent blockades and garages running out of petrol. I pointed out the millions who need their car such as nhs workers etc were one had to take his son to hosp last week in the car.. The delivery drivers who bring their groceries and over priced craft ale. Then they discuss a get together down in Leicester and driving down?? Go figure. In other news all my parts turned up, so today I'm soaking in WD all nuts n bolts involved in case that will aid removal and the job maybe
  4. New plate still had cover on it for pic. The font is smaller and doesn't fill it up as much as original does, which i thought odd. But cheers, only a small job but nice to have 5mins in good weather and tackle a job undisturbed for a change.
  5. Looks smart and tidy πŸ‘
  6. Some gentle t.cutting to remove contact damage and rubbings. A quick contemplation about sacking off the plate holder was soon binned in favour of "just get on with it". Noticed our bumpers are polystyrene filled when poked about. I think that has definitely contributed to not being worse off. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wxbk8wxfq18mk4z/20220326_150603.jpg?dl=0
  7. New rubbish bland plate swapping over for mot as I'm guessing the semi shattered one is a fail. Gutted original one has gone. Guy in the shop was interested by it and even came out for a gander. Said he knows a few that might like that reg? https://www.dropbox.com/s/lppafo75ugs7ifj/20220326_135151.jpg?dl=0 Also buffing out the damage caused. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ws27y7nzfoal0z/20220326_135230.jpg?dl=0 Gap under o/s headlamp ☹ https://www.dropbox.com/s/73825hgiymgxptu/20220326_135212.jpg?dl=0 Could have been worse. This is the Fiesta after it had been put back together and tidied up. Dinted bonnet out of shot and lower fascia split in two https://www.dropbox.com/s/s4dzv4y3oxkxkey/20220321_151741.jpg?dl=0
  8. Watching with interest as mine is getting a bit peely with age on the edges.
  9. Looks tidy, headlamps look great and clear too.
  10. Hello and welcome! Is it one of the purple ones that were up for sale recently? Definitely needs a spoiler to finish the look off. Look out for a breaker i suppose is best option there, unless someone on here has one perhaps. As for the cat, yes it'll effect running due to lambda sensors feeding back to the ecu. I think we're al in agreement that cat thieves deserve being crushed esp with Honda's high on the target list. Engine and autobox oil have plenty of write ups and feed back and i think it comes down to preferences and availability. Even the filter (which has the best access of any car I've owned) can be changed for the S2000 option. There's more techy guys on here who'll go into detail soon i reckon. Good to get a new owner on board πŸ‘ Andy
  11. Spotted these the other day. Both purple, i felt dirty and common. But yeh liking the prices πŸ‘ Just need a show like car sos, 5th gear or wheeler dealers to do a feature on one like they did with the Corrado and prices shoot up.
  12. All sounds familiar the.. its just there but I can't get an angle or purchase on it, with the bonnet connector and super gunked up latch mechanism. Been there done that with the sliced knuckles from the rad being in close vicinity. Works as it should since though. Funny I've done it on the actual car that the person who started this thread used to own.
  13. It is yes. I'm happy with it and can't see it being beaten by much. I'm registering onto their driving less money back scheme. Honda has gone from 12k miles down to 5k now the vw is taking up the slack. Insurance has it down as 8k.
  14. Some good news against impending war and fuel hikes. Insurance renewal through the post this morning. Down over Β£20 to just Β£171. Think I'll pop out and fill up to celebrate πŸ‘
  15. Have a blast on mine if you want non smooth πŸ˜„ I've learnt how to accelerate and not because i know what makes it kick. Still, it's improved lots since the changes. Nice work on Ruby Stu though, looks like it'll reward well.
  16. Garage noticed mine was out so adjusted it for me a few years ago. But it still wears out my rubber on the insides πŸ™„
  17. Exactly. Rich get richer, levelling up etc just pure BS
  18. The plug-in car grant has been cut to Β£1,500 | Top Gear https://www.topgear.com/car-news/electric/plug-car-grant-has-been-cut-ps1500?fbclid=IwAR3maw0sBaj_0r8qJmrNEoP9om3tjFiG9SrWmGddFffaMZgnFPU1rYcAdYc
  19. Drove it for a birthday treat to myself after i got 10mins alone time and to a local brewery to collect to gift packs and have a cheeky half. Not been in the Honda for over two weeks. Love the way they smoothly start, about 1 and half turn overs and gently whirrs into life and the seats and comfort compared to the euro box πŸ‘Œ
  20. Might actually respond to my 3rd letter then and see what they come up with 😎
  21. Southport bound, was I and the wee boy on the path at the gates of Woodvale. He wanted to see the Hawk gate guardian and I needed to park up the vw and let it cool down after it sneezed oil out the front setting off a whole host of alarms πŸ™„ just a pressure switch by looks of it. Back in the Honda for a few days though, but could only find E10 nearby ☹
  22. If anyone ever wants to spot an Elysions just briefly pass through Southport and surrounding area. There like flies round there 😁 The gold badged one was just heading out of the car park at the front as i was cutting through avoiding the road closure. Then a V6 badge adorned one making the most of the bypass past RAF Woodvale, something familiar about that one πŸ˜‰
  23. Just bits already kicking about. I have noticed a difference yes, definitely more twirly than previous. Old stuff stinks bad too.
  24. 5th slop out of the power steering fluid. I think its getting clearer πŸ€” https://www.dropbox.com/s/zuuet7i6m7brawm/20210926_134217.jpg?dl=0
  25. Looks a cracker, don't think its the same car but similar. Other had about 60k on it and was up in Carlisle.
