  1. Yes Pete, I sort of agree about the Cabin Filters... Mine could be years old! But that will have to wait until after the MOT, although personally having A/C in cars since 1995, I'm pretty sure the Gas could do with a boost. Again, it could well be the original stuff in there...??? And the starting is not a problem, nor a complaint - just an observation. I'm just used to engines turning more than a few milliseconds before starting I suppose. It's literally like "Chi-Vroom".... Not all the time, but most. Just takes me by surprise when it does...
  2. Used the A/C in anger for the first time, (yesterday) and it was what I would call adequate.... Improvement possible though. Can't find any evidence it's been re-gassed and the previous owner found it like I have done - adequate. So it could most probably do with a top-up. It'll have to wait until after the MOT. But otherwise all good! NB. Not sure if this is normal, but mine starts so quickly that I hardly have time to register the fact and release the key!! So now I just 'twitch' the key. Does all yours do this..??
  3. I did the same with my Sunroof after I got it. But I just used my trusty White Grease - which I use on all the hinges, latches and locks. Once before Winter and again after. I also do the usual checks but nothing is ever needed - not even air in the tyres! I do intend to do one more, (4th) drain and fill of the ATF if it passes the MOT and then an Oil/Filter change at Winters start. The one thing that I still have to do is the Cabin Filter - putting it off until the weather cools... But you're right, it is a tad toasty....
  4. I just used a 3/8 Breaker with a short Extension. Although the Breaker was overkill, the 3/8 Ratchet would have surficed.
  5. Couldn't get mine open at all.... (Mainly because I didn't have the Tools you have). So I just ended up filling it through the Dipstick Aperture. It all fitted perfectly without a drop spilled! NB. The Drain Plug by comparison was relatively easy...
  6. Don't worry, the car has a better chance than I do!...
  7. Thanks Stu. I wish I felt as confident...
  8. Thanks Stu.... Yes, I gave it a well-earned clean the other day. Talking of MOT, Mine is next month..... Not looking forward to it to be honest - never am!
  9. Hi Pete. Right. I'll give this one more go - just so you can confirm I have the information/size you want to fit. As stated in your opening Post - 225/45x16.... Correct? Al I have been trying to point out is that this size, 225/45x16 will give you the incorrect overall diameter, not width. The correct fitting for the 16 inch Rim you have is: 205/55x16. Giving you an overall Diameter of 24.9 inches. You want, or your criteria is that you have a 45% Aspect Ratio. (The Aspect Ratio being a Percentage of the overall Width of the Tyre = The Wider the Tyre the Higher the Sidewall will be with a set Aspect Ratio). So, you want a 45 Aspect Ratio on a 16 inch Rim - Correct? In that case the narrowest width you will require is: 245/45x16 This will give you a slightly smaller Overall Diameter of 24.7 inches. Ideally it would be better to fit 225/50x16 giving 24.9 inches. The same as standard. I understand what you are wanting, all I'm pointing out is Standard recommended sizing. Whether you can get these sizes in trackday tyres is questionable.... I apologise if I seem to come over badly but all I'm trying to do is the correct size for your car, so I will say no more. Personally I would go 18 inch and be done with it. Plenty of choice aswell..... Ciao.
  10. Hi Pete. Not too sure if you bought the car with those size tyres. But they are wrong to begin with. They should be either 205/60x16 (OD 25.7") OR 195/65x15 (OD 25.0") Yours: 205/55x15 (OD 23.9"). Now this isn't a bad thing in itself for general driving, but it has 4 detrimental effects, one of them being a safety issue. 1) A smaller than standard tyre rotates at a far great speed at a given speed compared to a standard tyre. This can lead to greater heat build-up especially on a larger, heavier cars, such as ours. This can lead to premature wear and even failure in some extreme cases! 2) Because of increased rotational speed the tyre will wear out quicker. More rotations per mile = less miles. 3) Incorrect speed shown on the Speedo, With standard tyres speedos are set by law to over-read by about 10% more or less. So with these smaller tyres you will very rarely get a speeding fine as on top of the 10% plus the tyre size differential, about another 5% at a shown speed of 70mph you will more likely be doing about 62mph. 4) They will just look silly...lol. But seriously, it is not recommended. In fact if you want to fit the wrong size it's better to go slightly larger, by about 2% max. Of course it is your car and you must do what you feel is right for yourself. I'm only stating the above as fact.... (Except maybe the "silly" bit)
  11. I was just looking at your sizing. Standard 15" is usually 195/65x15 which has an overall diameter of 25.0 inches. The 225/45x16's you want to fit are way too small as far as diameter goes, in the order of 1 inch. Overall diameter 24 inches! 16's should at least be either 225/50x16 or 205/55x16. On 17's the ideal would be, or should I say recommended, 225/45x17 which makes an overall diameter of 25.0 inches. A 35 aspect ratio on 17's you would need a tyre the width of a formula-1 tyre, like 305 to get the correct overall diameter....lol... I hope that helps to some degree. Ciao. NB. (edit): To give you an idea I run 18's with 235/40x18 tyres which give an overall diameter of 25.4 inches.
  12. I cannot imagine Camskill selling OOD Tyres to be honest. You could call and ask I suppose...?? You're going to struggle to find other decent 16" Track Tyres. as there just isn't the demand for them. Why do you not go 17 or 18 inch? Plenty then to choose from.
  13. Personally I would go for something like this - but then I like Nexen Tyres so it don't mean much.... https://www.camskill.co.uk/m116b0s663p120617/Toyo_Tyres_Trackday_Track_Day_Toyo_R888_Proxes_Toyo_R_888_-_225_45_R16_89V_(GGG-MediumSoft)_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_G_Wet_Grip%3A_B_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_70dB
  14. Welcome to the Forum..... For everything HONDA, Stu, (hughezee) is your man! Enjoy....
  15. That I cannot tell you I'm afraid, I have no record of them being changed. But I will say that the suspension is what I would consider on the "hard" side of soft. Not bone-shaking, but firm and quite 'crashy' on bad road surfaces like potholes etc. But I would imagine the large wheels with the resulting low aspect ratio has a lot to do with this. Also mine tends to sit quite proud on it's haunches with a gap a 5.5 inches between bottom of wheelarch to top of rim on the front and 6 inches on the rear. As can be seen here: (And the overall diameter of the wheels/tyres is slightly more than the standard wheels/tyres are - about 10mm bigger. Hence my Speedo is within +/- 1 mph correct according to my Satnav). Sorry I can't help further... Ciao.
  16. The vibration is certainly not normal. I made a conscious check on mine yesterday and there is none at all. And I wasn't holding it rigid, just a very relaxed 2 finger grip, (which is generally all it needs to keep on the straight and narrow anyway). And even in parking with sharp turns I just use the 'One-Handed' method. And don't forget I'm running 18 inch wheels with a 40 Aspect Ratio which would normally amplify any vibration. Not to mention 36psi inflation. (34 Rear). I just find the car very balanced with nice precise turn-in with that set-up. And with reference to your Steering Wheel, I wish mine went lower! At the lowest position there's a good 4-5 inches gap to the tops of my legs. I'd be happier if it went another 2 inches lower!... (And I haven't got matchsticks either ) Now the Front Seat Back. Like Welland99 states, there is a slight amount of play at the top of the backrest, but this is normal on nearly all backrests. At the Pivot it most probably has a couple of millimetres movement but by the time it gets to the top of the backrest it has increased somewhat. Basic physics ol' chap... I think what you need to do is drive another one to make a comparison. I know when I first drove mine it felt like it was going to fall apart - but I just looked past this.... But I will admit for the first couple of weeks I thought, "What have I done"!!!! I hope you get it sorted and start enjoying it - it took me a good couple of months!
  17. Pete.... I found this info: (Click Product Data Sheet) - (Next time ask an Expert - Kidding ) https://www.osram.com/osram_com/products/lamps/vehicle-and-bicycle-lighting/cars/led-signal-and-interior-lamps/ledriving-standard757008/index.jsp For these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192182316204?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Not sure if it helps. 21. Hi Pete. Personally I would most probably go Standard - but that's me.... While we are on the subject, do you know what bulb is fitted to the High Level Brake Light please? Thanks. Bill.
