  1. Cannot comment on Pagit as I've had no experience with them, but nothing like what you say I have experienced with the Eicher Pads. And as previously stated, for me EBC is my weapon of choice up front, where it counts.. https://ebcbrakes.com/about-ebc/
  2. That would have been ideal of course... Anyway found a decent one on YT - pretty straightforward other than the Piston has to be screwed back in, I suppose that is because of the Handbrake action/operation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPkwer-WcPM I've fitted Eicher to a few cars and they have been OK - personally wouldn't fit them on my fronts but the rears get so little action, they're quite adequate. Anyway, anything has got to be better than what's in there at the moment.... Horses for courses. Anyway, your brakes are only as good as your rubber...... Ciao boys....
  3. Bought some Rear Brake Pads for the Ol' Bitch today. I know they are only Eicher from ECP, but at a tenner + Tax you can't complain, especially as they were delivered Same-Day FOC! Ordered at about 11-ish and arrived just after 1pm...!! Not bad I don't mind fitting cheaper Pads at the Rear, only the Fronts I'm fussy - EBC is Pad of choice. Anyway, Eicher are made at the same Factory - go figure! Not sure how bad the Pads are that are on there but I wanted to service them anyway, and a bit silly to go to that bother and not fit fresh Pads. Now to go and find a Video on YouTube...lol. Ciao boys....
  4. Are they Bayonet or Capless fitting Stu? And what is the MO to replace them please?
  5. Are your Indicators blue, or is that my imagination???
  6. Thanks Pete. Concerning the Grille, I'm sure they are not as grey as they seem to be, but that is what happens to these dark plastics on cars after a few years as the oils that give it the black satin finish leach out over time leaving it looking lifeless and grey. This is why I spray them as no matter how much you treat them, or how good the product is, they eventually just go back to the grey colour. At least with spraying it's done - simples... All I did was rub it down gently with some *Scotchbrite, followed by a good few passes with IPA, (Isopropyl alcohol). No Primer, just straight on with the Paint. I applied about 4 light coats leaving it to flash off, (go from shiny to dull) between coats. This is what I used: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/car-maintenance-accessories/paints-and-primers/paints/?549772161&&cc5_159 It's the same I used for the Wiper Arms as mine were looking a bit sad.... ***But don't use a Gloss - I tried, doesn't work. Satin perfect*** Cheers, Bill.
  7. Thanks Stu..... Yes, very sad. We get very attached to our little friends. And yes, I agree about the Badges - quite annoyed with the quality of some stuff you get these days! They are obviously not intended for external use. Just wish they would say.... Just very fortunate that nothing was wrecked in fitting them! And thanks for everything. Luckily I decided to explore deeper as at first I just thought it was packing material...lol. But I did give it a really good clean with detergent and degreaser - it had certainly been well used. I'm waiting to see what happens with the MOT before fitting anything else. But greatly appreciated!!! Well, I'll soon find out in an hour or so..... Fingers crossed!
  8. Hi Pete. Yes, it wasn't that long ago. In fact I saw it coming as moisture used to get into the actual Badge. I did complain and was offered replacements, (a bit pointless as they both were doing it) or a refund, which I accepted. So it didn't really cost me anything. But an annoyance. (See photo). But at least it gave me a chance to clean up the Grille that came off, (which is now back on) and spray it in a Satin Black - the same I used on the Wiper Arms. Looks almost like new now.... You live and learn hey.....
  9. Today I decided to refit the Standard Airbox for the MOT tomorrow, and because I received a very welcome surprise donation of what I do believe to be a K&N Panel Filter...!!!! (Amongst other things)... Thank you sir - you know who you are! And after opening the Airbox to insert the K&N Filter, (don't worry I gave it a good degrease and wash beforehand) I found that the Original Filter was absolutely filthy! But they always do look worse when originally white.. Also gave the whole Airbox a thorough clean at the same time before re-installation. I also decided to re-fit the Original Grille with the Big "H" as well as the Boot Badge as both had deteriorated quite badly and started to look shoddy. But I tell you what, I got quite good at removing the Grille - removal and re-fit took all of 30 minutes, at a guess! And no skin is broken!!!! Bargain. And then gave her a bit of a clean, didn't go overboard as it looked like rain was on its way - but didn't actually arrive. Apologies for poor picture quality as it was getting on for 20:30hrs. Filter: Grille and Rear Badge: Fingers crossed for tomorrow......
  10. I reckon they are most probably quite generic to Honda - have to go down the local Silverlake sometime and grab one...
  11. Still after one of those little grommets that cover the screw in the Door Handle Recess.....
  12. Yes they will as the "40" is a percentage of the overall width. 235/40x17 = 24.5 inches overall diameter. (Approx). 215/40x17 = 23.7 inches overall diameter. (Approx).
  13. Hi Dave. It's just a single 582 Bulb that has definitely blown as I tested it on a meter. It was working previously OK. Just a couple of quid down at Halfords. NB. The Bulb is in it's Holder. Easier to remove and refit that way.
  14. Hi chaps..... Today I took advantage of the wife having to go down the to to pick something up locally to take a quick Vid of the car. Luckily I did because I noticed the 3rd Brake Light had blown... And with the MOT on Tuesday quite advantageous. So a trip to Halfords tomorrow, and might as well take in Burger King while I'm at it - be rude not to...lol. Anyway, the Vid - not too great as was a last minute effort from the upstairs window: What you reckon??

    HI

....................... Unless you have a Honda Automatic with no reverse...lol.
  16. I fitted 235/40x18's all-round. These: https://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s322p124879/Nexen_Tyres_Car_Nexen_N8000_Nexen_N_8000_-_235_40_R18_95Y_XL_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_E_Wet_Grip%3A_B_NoiseClass%3A_3_Noise%3A_74dB But I got a good deal at Formula1 at £250.00 for 4 Balanced & Fitted! And although the EU Ratings aren't that great in the real world they get rave-reviews! http://www.productreview.com.au/p/nexen-n8000.html And I'm pretty chuffed aswell! Inspire real confidence....

    HI

What Dave said that Stu said! ^^^^^
  18. Might look the business but the real aficionados will be asking why all the time or be having a bit of a laugh. (It happens believe me) - just saying. As far as I'm concerned sometimes different is better, as you can tell by mine, a bit of an abortion! But I've been to 'Meets' with my old MR2 and was almost ostracized by some because it had Stripes and non-Japanese Alloys! Also to have staggered tyres correctly, you should have different size wheels aswell. Wider on the rear. Now THAT will look nice! Like this as an example: Good luck with your 'Mods'.... And more photo's!
  19. May I ask why you are fitting Staggered Tyre Sizes? This is only beneficial in RWD Cars like BMW/Merc/Porsche... It can in extreme cases have the undesired effect of causing increased Understeer in FWD cars....
  20. Well I've been really lazy - haven't even washed it for I can't remember how long up until yesterday! But today did quite a big job - yes, shortened the Baffle Inserts by about 2 inches and fitted new Allen Bolts and Nylocks as the original ones were getting a bit rusty. Yes rusty! The Bolts, (screws actually) were S/S but the Nuts and Washers were not! How stupid! Anyway, nice new ones fitted now. Surprisingly the sound is much softer, not quieter but softer in tone - and something I wasn't expecting the changes even seem smoother. Strange...??? Or maybe because now there us is more distance between where the actual Silencer Outlet ends and where the Baffle Pipe starts is allowing the Exhaust Gasses to move around more and dissipate some of the higher notes - that's my theory anyway - but what do I know..... And seeing I was outside I decided to take a few snaps - as you do..... But with my Xperia Z-Ultra this time instead on my much used Xperia-Z, which are both getting on in years as I got them when they were just released! - What 4, 5 years ago? Also the Tyres seem to be wearing nice and even, although I think I got the Rears a bit hard - need to rectify that as I never carry anything in the Boot other than the Spare, etc. The snaps..... (the boring bit - sorry). And some Eye-Candy for the Dog-Lovers.... the 2 new additions to the family. Chihuahuas at 7 weeks - Ah cute! Ciao.....
  21. I use this chap locally: http://www.coolrunners-southampton.co.uk/ Have used him on my R75 when I had a leak on the HP Pipe that run down behind the Engine and Bulkhead. He just cut out and replaced a section of offending Pipe. But prior to that he did a Vacuum check - best way to see it there is a leak. Then flushed out the system and re-vacuumed to test, then refilled with dye and oil. Checked visually and then ran the system on full whilst gauges still connected for a good 20 minutes - had a cuppa in the meantime and watered his dog - I reckon he was at location for a good hour+. Cost £90.00 Was still going strong nearly 6 years later when I sold the car! Called him on the Beemer as it was not coming on. Did a test, couldn't find anything so re filled and tested - all good. Cost: £40.00 But about 3 weeks later no A/C again. So I gathered there must be a really small, undetectable leak so I bought this: And invited him around again to aid in doing it for me because obviously I will need some more Gas. Anyway, he came around within a couple of days, did the business including top-up and didn't even charge me! He considered it a 'come-back' as he didn't originally find the leak in the first place. I highly recommend him if you live in the area he covers! First class chap..... NB: The A/C was still ice cold when I sold the car, albeit only a few months later.
  22. Sorry to be a nuisance - but there seems to be loads of missing Posts...???? I've got Email notifications but the posts are not on the Forum... Like this one: kag8 said: Just hit another car. From behind. At a roundabout. Thought she had gone far ahead. Turns out she had stopped or gone really slowly so banged in to her rear bumper. Got scratches on my front bumper and my number plate held by double sided tape is just about to fall off. Not much else damage except im now hearing that knocking sound I complained of when my droplinks were changed. Weird. Impact was minimal. Will get that checked out. Might be my bonnet. Just worried about my minimal no claims bonus. A shame to lose it on such a minor incident
  23. I got to this today it's peak. And this is in a correctly positioned Thermometer/Sender in the shade all day and away from any structures that might radiate heat. And that was hot enough with the humidity! I hate humidity. I was used to a Dry Heat in Africa at 5000 feet altitude 18-20 on average. So you would need a Temperature of about 36*C to feel like it felt today at 30... Actually, if you have Dry Bulb Temp of 30*C+ and a Wet Bulb Temp of less that 3 Degrees difference, (ie 27*C) it is considered Heat Stroke Conditions. You need a Whirling Hydrometer to measure those. I used to use one when I worked in the Gold Mines in South Africa as an Environmental Control Officer 2km+ below the surface where it gets VERY HOT! The rock face is around 60*C, sometimes as hot as 140*C at a Virgin Face! I think that is why I hate it so much, humidity that is.
