  1. I have to say that either the Indicators should all be Amber like the Rear and Repeaters, or Clear like the Front ones, not a miss-mash. Personally because the Front Lights look so nice as all clear they should all be like that - matching. But I actually prefer Amber Lenses on older cars. Looks more suited.
  2. These are the last photo's that I see from your Post a few days ago. No photo's since these.
  3. Glad you got the humour...lol. Car looks pretty clean to me! And yes, do like that colour... I'm going to have to say that I reserve judgement on the removal of the Plate Holder. Maybe a photo from farther away might help. Sorry. I'm thinking a Vinyl Plate fitted directly onto the Bumper maybe...??? And Dave, I'm sure it is not my eyesight but I see no Border on the Plate, although I would agree a Border would look nice! And I would lose the Emblem, just have it plain. Also a pre-2001 can have pre-2001 lettering. Thus: Compared to thus: Fills the Plate better because as a pre-2001 you didn't have to have the EU Emblem... These are from Hardridden on Ebay. Ciao. NB. Mine has no Emblems.
  4. Apparently they all do this. Well, mine does and I'm sure I've heard other people complain too.... It's not the first car I've had with a proper Boot that has done this, seems quite common. But if it's not leaking in the same place when closed, count yourself lucky....
  5. Welcome the "The Club" Andy..... If you have any problems - "Ask Stu" - what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing! And yes, definitely photo's - use https://postimages.org/ or http://imgur.com/ Cheers, Bill.
  6. Yesterday it dawned on me that after talking about the Throttle Body the other day I suddenly realised that I had in fact NOT cleaned it - it was the Beemer that I got mixed up with doing. Silly boy! So anyway I decided I had better do something about it and give it a good clean using a mix of IPA and as I didn't have any Carb Cleaner I used Brake Cleaner instead... It was to say the least, FILTHY! Filled with thick black gunk it was, and took a good half hour of cleaning until I was satisfied it was as good as I could do with it being in-situ. Also adjusted the Cables as they seemed too slack by my standards. Anyway, the throttle response is a lot quicker in regards throttle movement at the foot and throttle response. And smoother as there did seem that there was the slightest hesitation previously. So always worth doing in my humble opinion. Sorry, I forgot to take photo's at the time but I did take a couple of photo's of the cloths afterwards.... Ciao....
  7. All I can say is that you guys don't know how lucky you are having someone like Stu close at hand in these eventualities.... Definitely fixable - it's Stu we're talking about here!
  8. Bummer...... Sorry to hear this David...
  9. Hi pete. No worries, you're welcome. I'm pretty sure he does as the plate itself is of Vinyl on a Backing Plate - But I was very happy with the quality as were hundreds of others who bought from him! Also you can have your own Logo across the bottom if you wish - you just have to contact him.
  10. By the way, if someone is wanting Plates made up I can recommend this chap - I as well as a few hundred other Rover 75 owners bought our Rover 75 Shaped Rear Number Plate from him without having to go through all the usual hoops to get one! Also he will make up anything you want basically. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QUALITY-CAR-NUMBER-PLATES-ROAD-LEGAL-MOT-COMPLIANT-SHOW-PLATE-OPTIONS-AVAILABLE-/232404111109?hash=item361c5d4f05:g:RNMAAOSwo4pYI3gw Ciao.
  11. The only trouble with that is that now my latest post has no relevance as to what we were discussing....???? My post starts: "Carrying on from the last topic concerning Number plates I decided to"................................. I know it's nice to keep it tidy, but I have to say in this particular instance I find it mildly irritating because now the story looks disjointed. Not only that, but my contribution to the discussion is not there especially as I end my last post with: "Anyway, I haven't been completely idle since my last post, as you will see"..... (But of course you won't see - it's not there).
  12. Please tell me I'm not going crazy...... But is it my imagination or has quite a few posts gone missing concerning Number plates, etc...???
  13. Thanks Stu.... Coming from you that is a truly fine compliment. Much appreciated!
  14. And that's not all..... Whilst I was waiting for the paint to dry I fitted some Plastic Chrome Caps on the Wheel Nuts as they looked pretty shabby. These were a carry-over from when I had the R75 when I had Spacers fitted and having to use longer Wheel Bolts which had 19mm Heads but were a black Steel coloured, so decided to fit these. Of course I removed the Spacers when I sold the car and fitted the Original Bolts back, and them having a 17mm Head I had these left over. Of course the Coupe has standard 19mm Nuts so I can now make use of them..... Look much better me thinks. Before.................... After...................... (and I've just sussed out what "ZR" means: ZR basically means the tyre is adapted for speeds above 149 mph. ZR tyres includes the speed ratings V(149mph), W(168mph) and Y(186mph). Before 1990, the manufacturers used "ZR" to mean high performance tyres before the ratings got refined with W, Y… And mission accomplished.... Nice N/P Holder and Wheel Nuts.... And it didn't even take long!
  15. Carrying on from the last topic concerning Number plates I decided to just do what I wanted to do in the first place and that was to give the Number Plate Holder a coat of Satin Black as it looked pretty dull, in spite of applying copious amounts of Trim Cream.... I just removed the Number Plate and Masked up the area. Before.................. During..................... After........................ Looks better than it does in the photo's - much improved! And of course matches the Grill perfectly as they have the same paint applied....
  16. Hi-De-Hi Dave.... Yes, it was the first thing I tried but even that didn't work... But thanks anyway. Anyway, I haven't been completely idle since my last post on What Have You Done To Your Coupe Today, as you will see.....
  17. Ah, I see the Mounts on the Bumper protrude. On the Celica they didn't, they were dips as far as I could tell. I bought the car with this plate attached so I really didn't have a choice, and to be honest I never even gave it a second thought - ignorance is bliss sometimes... My Plate Holder will have to stay where it is because I cannie remoove it capt'n... One of the Screws/Bolts just spin.... It'll tighten up, but loosens to a certain degree then just spins - so it's staying put because I'm buggered if I'm going to remove the Bumper to get it off as all I really wanted to do was give it a coat of Satin Black anyway as it is faded somewhat. I don't mind it to be honest..... But if it was a Satin black it would look better. And yes, I know I could Mask the Bumper but I don't want to risk any overspray. And anyway, these sorts of things just shouldn't happen!!!
  18. I had a Vinyl Number Plate on my Celica and had no issues with MOT's or anybody else. I have to say it was pretty thick Vinyl though which hid the original holes in the Bumper unless you looked really closely, and were looking for them.
  19. Very many thanks Paul, and I wish a lot more Members were closer - a pretty lonely existence down these parts.... It's one thing about the Rover & ZT OC - there was a GTG at least once a month if one so wished to attend. I miss that.......
  20. Well, nothing to report really. I've been really busy with other things so have neglected the car a little bit since endeavouring to do the rear brakes a couple of weeks ago, and failing. And it was a couple of weeks before then that I last showed the car a bucket, so I thought it was about time yesterday to give it a bit of an all-round clean. To me the wheels are my pet-hate, any wheels! Hence I do them separately first, then the car afterwards. As far as polishing goes all I did was give it a quick once-over with my trusty 3M Quick-Wax. And the tyres got a covering of some Simoniz Back To Black. But this is from Costco and a really tall aerosol tin from the States, quite different to what I've seen in the shops locally. Also it is like a clear rubbery Lacquer. Certainly does the job anyway, and last a good couple of months! (And doesn't oil up your wheels like some others do). Then just gave it a quick vacuum and leather wipe-down. Anyway, I was chuffed with the result. But I do miss my Red H's on the grille and bootlid. Sadly the only place that sells the sizes I require is the same place as I got the last ones, which deteriorated really quickly. So it's back to boring standard ones. I took a couple of photo's but it was nearing 19:30hrs so the light was getting bad, hence the poor quality - apologies... The engine compartment looked ok so just left it..... Ciao...... Took a couple just now to add.... Must get a proper camera. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee....
  21. Eventually replaced the Hazard Warning Button Illumination Bulb today. It had to be ordered from Belgium - ordered on the 16th and arrived at the Local Hendy Depot yesterday! £4.69. Not too bad I thought... (Same place I got my replacement Fuel Relay). And it is the smallest bulb I have seen! The bulb itself is only about 2mm long by 2mm in diameter. I'll have to wait until dark to see if it works. * The old blown one* Another thing fixed.....
  22. Found a nice little video on how to test the Bulb and Circuitry to eliminate those just leaving the Sensor inside the Tank at fault. Did this Test and the Reserve Light lit up. So that leaves the Sensor, and seeing as it is part and parcel of the Float Mechanism, it can stay bust! I normally keep it above 1/4 anyway. Ciao.
