Founding Member Mazda Man Posted October 21, 2015 Founding Member Report Share Posted October 21, 2015 Built like the proverbial Chieftain Tank though. Front seats were like armchairs and the headlights had little wipers on them. Ahhhh
welland99
Starter motor now fixed! I finally took pitty on the ignition lock, which has seen more than its fair share of use this last couple of years, and took it in for repair on Monday. The fault was diagnosed in about 1 minute, and the repair was complete in about 15 minutes while I waited. The problem was the contacts in the solenoid. They had become eroded with use and were not making good contact any more. New contacts were fitted and the starter is now back on the car - working perfectly first time, every time!
Administrators hughezee Posted December 13, 2016 Administrators Report Share Posted December 13, 2016 Glad you got it resolved in the end, although to be fair given half a chance think any one of experienced members wouldn't have diagnosed it just as quick, maybe a short video of the event as I suggested would have been better, that's why I don't like offering a diagnosis over the phone. Thanks for the follow up though.
