Get the best of both worlds Accord & Caravan

Looks much better Stu. You will be surprised how many cars advertised on Auto Trader has dirty pedals. As Dave said a small attention to detail makes all the difference. BTW I must do mine

Seized Rear Caliper Slider 1998 1999 2000 2001 CG Accord Coupe
Brett replied to Cryistic's topic in Braking & ABS
As Stu said these sliding pins are essential to the calipers and need to move freely for the pads to move in and out. If not moving this could become a problem with pad and disk wear. Also it could cook your calipers and become a bigger and expensive job in the long run. -
Just to add to this IV tried EBC green pads and slotted disks on my 7gen. I have nether experienced such bad brake fade in all the years of driving. Also after 12 months the disks were shot and had wheel wobble through the brake pedal. Since then Iv stuck to OEM and nether had any problems. Lots of People has ask me how to improve braking performance. TBO disks and pads don't do a lot to improve. You need an upgrade on calipers. For example the 6th gen ATR twin pot calipers are a straight bolt on the 7th gen Accord and is far better than any performance pads or disks.

Which Engine Oil for 1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.0 2.2 "Incl H22"
Brett replied to hughezee's topic in Engine & Faults
Yep, I think I will try 5W40 that you recommended Stu as the car is getting older, especially looking at the link you sent about the oil pressure with 0w-20 oil is quite alarming. Thanks for the quick call.👍 -
Which Engine Oil for 1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.0 2.2 "Incl H22"
Brett replied to hughezee's topic in Engine & Faults
Over the last 6 years I have tried a few types of engine oil and am now sticking to Mobil 1 5w-30. Iv used Ester based oil from Fuchs Titan pro and was very good indeed. Also tried Honda 0w-20 oil for the new tyre R and was not inpressed at all. The oil was to thin in my opinion and reverted back to 5w-30. -
1998-2002 Accord Coupe Power Steering Cooler Leak?
Brett replied to BN Coupe's topic in Suspension & Steering
You could wipe some oil from your dip stick and compare the colours. This would eliminate an oil leak if not the Same colour. -

Honda charge around £50 for a headlight change on the 8th gen Its a good job I'm not scared to take the bumpers off. I think Holfords have crossed my car off there list for free lamp changes.
-
Will have a look Dave but on mine 99% of H1 leds will not fit as there is limited space behind the screw cover. The ones with fans on are a no no so would have to be the heat reducing copper ones. Also to fit on the 8th gen the easiest way is mad I no but to take the bumper off and lights out. I did this when fitting my hid,s much easier.

Dave Iv been toying with led headlights for a wile now. Horizon leds are now doing Philips H1 for my car but are £120

Sounds a great plan Stu.PS have you got a pressure washer so I can bring my snow lance. Its a karcher fittment that just plugs in.
-
Forgot to say it's worth giving the electric connections a spray with WD first to stop water getting in there. The leaf blower is a great way of shifting that water on the bay.
-
Engine degreaser followed by snow foam and use a toothbrush to get into all the hard to reach places. Rinse with hose then dry with leaf blower. Then a good coat of engine detail for the best results.
