I seem to recall seeing this one on and off for about 2 years, too many "questionable" mods on it for most peoples liking i think.

Hindsight is a fantastic tool but, like many other things in life, too little, too late! I can't count the number of times a strange noise/behaviour has happened and i've decided to see what develops instead of investigating immediately - usually ended up costing me!

Leave it as a permanent drain, certainly until you find the source of the water ingress. Could be anywhere, even around the door and traveling by capilliary action.

Maybe a 3mm hole drilled in the bottom of each light unit will allow them to drain? Not ideal as you want to stop the wet stuff getting in in the first place.

It would still need filling up to get it home though!

I like that - i'd remove the pendant rear fog and fit 2 colour (red and white) bulbs into the reverse lamp holders and wire those for rear fogs and reverse, would clean up its rear. Ooooooooooo-errrrrrrrr missus!

Don't know anywhere down there that usually has a few for breaking, unlike one of my local ones. I think (but don't quote me on it) they do mail order but a cat isn't something i'd trust through the post or other courier. Welcome to CR-V ownership! If your engine bay is anything like mine, despite the engine looking small compared to a big V6, you'll find it's still cramped to wok in because of the basic engine design. Not one of Hondas finer moments!

Hmmmm, that's that theory gone with the wind then! I've had similar in the past, if it hasn't been the valve core leaking i've resealed the beads using one of two possible methods. First is to deflate the tyre, push the tyre as far as possible away from the bead towards the centre and run a bead of black RTV around it (inside and outside of the rim), wait 15-20 minutes for the sealant to flash off then re-inflate and leave 24 hours before refitting to allow the RTV to cure. Second method is to use TyreWeld or a similar product, drive the 20 minutes or however long it is and then check/adjust pressure to correct level. Both methods are a pain to remove the tyre when it needs changing though. A lot depends on how much life the tyre has though.

Could it also be you haven't used it for a while and it's just leaked around the rim/valve? Was following a RHD USA spec Odyssey today........... more available and affordable than an Elysin but without the V6. Tempting though!

Thanks, i've had a lot of Rovers and Hondas over the years and been interested in how things came about. I had a Ballade 1.5EXi about 25-30 years ago, i called it the "thinking mans 216VDP" as it went just as well, gave slightly better economy and still had similar equipment. As you say, the BAe management was very poor, almost as bad as the previous BL/ARG management had been but a definite lack of investment in newer models stifled the Rover brand, and by extension, the Honda brand. The 600/Accord (5th gen) was a superb car but Honda did most of the leg-work for that, a Rover 620 with a Honda K20 and maybe even a Rover 624 with a K24 would have been a nice facelift if BMW hadn't come along.

If people think the car is underpriced they automatically assume something is wrong with it - if others are selling for £4-5k then price yours to match, you may get some more serious enquiries! Some years back i sold my old microwave on ebay, it wasn't actually that old, it was stainless steel but it was a bit small for what i needed. I set the opening bid at £9.99 and only got a couple of offers, both well under the £10 point. Needless to say i politely declined and waited for auction end then relisted it with a starting bid of £19.99 - sold the next day for £20! From this little exercise and the offers i had when it was £9.99, people will always assume the worst, give them a reason to expect better/the best and they will pay it. If some smart Alec (damn - there's my dyslexic typing again! ) asks why the price has gone up, tell them because a series of muppet thought it was knackered so you've now priced to reflect condition, rather than a quick sale. You'll probably get a few offers for ~£3.5k...........

I'd suggest adding £2k to the asking price Pete! Seriously, give it a go and see what happens!
