Yes but have 14 days to cancel

Give Mark Richard (brokers) a call..they had no problem with insurance for Elysion when no-one else knew what it was...,,,£380 i think was the initial quote.

https://www.japcover.co.uk/models/honda-insurance/

When I called Adrian Flux they did not know what it was but did offer some insurance at an extortionate price like your 900 quid !!!

As a matter of interest AF also say they are specialists in sports cars...their VERY expensive quote on the  4.6 TVR was halved by other insurers quite easily ..

Insurance sorted and ouch 900 notes with 15 years NCD 😮

Bloody hell, something not right there! I'm with Adrian Flux on the Mercury, that only cost me just over £600 for a 24 year old with about 3/4yrs no claims 🤔

The LAGREAT not so GREAT and I am almost certain it wouldn't have made it back to H6 HQ ☹️

Various rust repairs on most panels (BAD) with surface corrosion all underneath some areas suspiciously thick with fresh underseal and both rear jacking points are heavily corroded. Transmission fluid contaminated and stationary shifts are lumpy and the reverse was violent. The power steering rack is leaking and the pump has run out on the pulley. The potent smell of fuel near the tank with a minor fuel leak around the filler neck and rusty lines. No coolant just plain water and water dripping from the timing cover and was pressurisng almost instantly from cold with air pockets.

A.C not functioning whatsoever (despite being told it did) and I suspect a fractured line or failed discharged hose. Engine misfire from cold and when warmed (lumpy idle) suspect ignition coil or fouled spark plugs? Exhaust leaks on the middle section and downpipe, with bad repairs. Brake fluid below minimum and leaking from n.s front caliper. 😮 Various suspension components are worn with excessive play, splits boots and both front compliance bushes split.🤨

At this point, I gave up on my inspection and walked away, what a waste of my time and lost a few hundred on this stupid idea too. 😡

Why cant sellers just be honest, sounds like it's been imported and not rust proofed and then neglected, someone not as well informed of you could have ended up with a world of pain.

The irritation at the loss of the money making your way to the car only to find out it's not be honestly described always stings a bit.

All the guy said to me was it's 20 years old what do you expect 😮 it is not safe to drive for one 🖕 fecking prat 🤬. Sure I was prepared to spend a couple of grand on it and prep and wax it all properly. Replace all fluids and get the timing belt water pump sorted, but just getting it roadworthy would cost more IMO.

I am gutted... 😭

Hate this sort of thing,  really taking the proverbial,  just wonder how the mots were obtained.

Just been to look at a Civic SI and a Volvo V50....all nice and shiny outside, both, interiors wrecked, engines uncared for, oil stank on both vehicles...both dipped to show that just the tip of the dipstick was touching the oil. Both owners declared regular servicing....volvo owner , when asked how many miles..." only about 10,000 ago...ffs !

Like you , wasted half a day and a load of fuel 🤬🤬🤬

Shouldn't be allowed. You kept your side of the bargain, turned up etc. If not as described should get 100% back IMHO

It was my upfront insurance costs 😐 they class it as a deposit, but did lose my securing deposit with the seller. It's up to him if wants to do the right thing and give it me back, but grateful I dodged a bullet.

So sorry to hear of the great failure after the great promise of the great heap of the Lagreat....  But despite your costs suffered now, you will be better off long term by not suffering days of work and not having to buy a shed load of bits to limp on a rusty wreck for another year or two....

I guess there will soon be another competition to guess your new project?

The first sentence on the new advert is aimed squarely at you , I think.😡😡

Like new and working like it should seems to be a difficult concept......my Elysion is 18 years old and WORKS but it is not new !!!!!

Yeah, I have to agree, although I can't see why as I didn't kick up a fuss despite him wasting my time. I just said it wasn't for me and thanks for letting me look at it and was about to walk off. He then wanted to know why, almost like he was the one that went to trouble & expense to come and look at it FFS. He was very evasive a rude from the minute we arrived on time BTW, completely different over the phone.
