Moderators PTR200S Posted January 23, 2020 Moderators Report Share Posted January 23, 2020 This link looks like the full set? Headlights too, not just tail lights. The headlights ares geared for left hand drive, not sure if they could be converted to right hand drive if you intend to use them? There is a thread somewhere here regarding "upgrading" lights, off to work now so haven't time to locate it but if someone else doesn't link it then I will have a look when I get back.
Site Subscriber’s Chrismas Posted January 23, 2020 Author Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted January 23, 2020 I love the look and shape of the rear end of our cars, but the Amber lens doesn't line up with the red boot panel! Perhaps I have OCD? I'm on a trip to the US later this year and might see if I can pick up a set of rear lights from over there. I've read somewhere on here that it has been done already, and with Amber bulbs, has gone through the MOT as well.

What Pete says is correct about the headlamps being set up for left hand drive. The other thing is, the USA aren't so fussy on headlamps as we are, the dipped and main beam patterns are almost the same, just with the main beam being higher. Instead of having the kick-up on the passenger side as we do (and so do the EU but the passenger side is the other side) they have a slightly larger area on the passenger side : You know how when you drive on dipped beam, you can still see the road signs, nice and bright? That's courtesy of the kick-up which should also show you pedestrians, animals etc on the pavement/verge etc. You may be able to use the housings they supply if you get the right size correct dipping headlamps for the UK (confusingly known as Left Hand Dip and often marked "LHD") so you could use the housings. Stu (aka Hughezee) has the USA spec rear lights as i recall that are basically red across the whole lens area with an orange LED indicator bullb to improve the colour and overall light output of the red lens. The big problem in this country with lighting is the Destruction & Abuse (better known as Construction & Use) regulations tend to be somewhat strict so there's not a wild amount you can do to personalise them.
Site Subscriber’s Kelvin Posted January 24, 2020 Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted January 24, 2020 There's a few of us with different rear lights, and for different reasons, but I don't think anyone has these. Stu went for US spec red lenses for the OCD reason you give and they look great. 2
