  1. Let me know if you don't go for that one, if you were interested i'd still potentially be up for selling the red one on? Im not interested in making any money on it, I pretty much bought it because I wanted to save it, it's too nice for anybody to buy and turn into a lowered chav wagon with daft wheels πŸ˜‚ It has the added advantage of having a towbar already and i've gone all out and bought brand new OEM everything and a few aftermarket service parts ready to go straight on it
  2. I can't afford or fit any more on my drive now! πŸ˜… Yeah the new red one's a lovely car, the engine bay and alternator look really well kept so i'm guessing its broken mostly because its not had much use for quite a few years ☹️ Its the actual rotor that's gone I really hope that one's good and you buy it mate, i'd love to have a fellow aerodeck owner!
  3. I've been eyeing it up too since I saw it yesterday naturally, way out of my budget though! I didn't pay that much for the 3 that i've got already 😦 Still need to get the new red one an alternator sorted πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  4. Welcome mate, I also know very little about the Elysion's sadly but there's plenty of folk here who do Good luck with the search!
  5. Your coupe's both look like fantastic projects, looking forward to seeing what you decide to do with them πŸ™‚ I don't know much at all about FRV's, I always tend to notice them when i'm out and about but they always look abused
  6. She looks good! And has my favourite optional extra, front fogs 😁
  7. Hello mate, welcome! Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the cars
  8. I'm already on the case with this one, I have never seen one with front fog lights like that. It has me very curious. Going to ring tomorrow and arrange to go and see it I think (I'm stupid) And just as an aside, if anybody wants a 5th gen coupe: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275538821963 This one's absolutely gorgeous, i'm honestly considering selling the civic for this!

    I’m new here

    Welcome mate! 😁
  10. It's honestly such a nice car mate, I will be sad when I watch it go But needs must, I have the other Vic to focus on and i'm going travelling through part of the winter months so I need some funds to store the other cars away properly while i'm gone! Also, it opens up the possibility of owning another V6 eventually πŸ˜‰
  11. Hey folks, I've listed my Mercury up for sale, thought i'd stick it here incase anybody would have any interest in it πŸ™‚ I'd love to see it go to somebody I know as I don't really want to get rid of it ☹️ https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-cars/mercury-grand-marquis-gs-1999-4.6l-petrol-automatic/1442502865
  12. I saw it listed earlier mate when I was having a scan around, definitely a shame ☹️ Hope you're well and you manage to find a good home for it
  13. Bloody hell, something not right there! I'm with Adrian Flux on the Mercury, that only cost me just over Β£600 for a 24 year old with about 3/4yrs no claims πŸ€”
  14. Anybody fancy joining the Aerodeck club? Low mileage, fantastic MOT history and garage kept for the past 4 years, i'd be buying myself if I had the money and the space! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255685632681
  15. Welcome mate! πŸ™‚ Stunning looking car, the colour is perfect! You know you have a good car when you park and keep looking back at it πŸ˜„
  16. https://www.gumtree.com/p/honda/1994-honda-accord-2.2-rare-auto-coupe/1439269700 But it is cool though! πŸ˜„ I've never seen a kit on a mk5 πŸ€”
  17. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202207137750342 Spotted this, MOT history looks good, 1 owner from new and it's a manual!
  18. Sorry mate, didn't last long. They rang him and told him it wasn't in the public interest to investigate it now. Why all of a sudden that changed and how investigating crime isn't in the public interest is beyond me, but here we are. What a wonderful country we live in eh πŸ˜” What's to deter anybody from committing that crime if they actively admit they won't pursue it
  19. Sorry to see this mate πŸ˜” Friend of mine recently had his cats stolen as well, reported it to the police but expected nothing to really happen. They actually followed up with him the other day and are launching a full investigation apparently which surprised us, so maybe, hopefully they'll have a proper look into it? ☹️🀞
  20. oooh another '04 1.6 Civic! Although not for long πŸ˜‚ Welcome mate πŸ™‚
  21. This can be deleted or archived, both cars are under new ownership now! Hopefully S886 KOV will see the road again, it's gone to somebody who's going to have it fixed, not sure if he'll be keeping it or selling it on afterwards though.
  22. Ahh, I was the bloke who caught you to say hello just before you left, with the long hair πŸ˜‚ Your coupe is lovely mate and was good to meet you! There was a great turnout of Hondas on the day too!
  23. I think it's time to accept i'm not meant to own one of these cars. Honestly not even sure what either of them are worth money wise in their current states, any opinions on that are welcome πŸ˜• I'd rather offer them to the folks who are most likely to care about them first before making any further decisions. The interiors are both in lovely condition, in the right hands both cars are far from past their best but I am never going to be able to get them sorted how I want to when i've got other projects as well. S782 FRR is overdue a good engine service however it is in fine working order otherwise! It has some rot on the rear drivers side arch unfortunately and the paint isn't in the finest condition, especially on the roof however it has been kept in dry storage for the best part of the last 5 years. S886 KOV has had a severe failure somewhere causing the timing belt to shred itself, the cause of which I still don't know. I lack the time and knowledge to investigate myself and I think i'm going to have to cut my losses with it and just hope that somebody else is willing to do the work to an otherwise lovely car πŸ˜” Anybody that's remotely interested in the car, if you want to view the engine yourself, investigate the damage as best you can using a borescope etc I absolutely welcome it. I have nothing to hide with it, but I don't want to see the car rot away on my garden either.

Based on what I know and what i've been told, I know there will be damage but because the belt hasn't actually snapped completely it could be minimal or it could be a lot. And like you say, it could be things that aren't so obvious. Putting a new engine in has been suggested to me, doesn't seem right though and the costs and logistics of it are not what I need πŸ˜”

So... As it stands currently, I have my original 2.0 and the new V6. Along with my Aerodeck and Civic. As much as I love all these cars to bits, between recent events, a badly paid part time job, and a run of bad luck and bad decisions I seem to keep making, I don't think i'm ever going to be able to keep this up. The bad luck has hit hardest with this new car, as I mentioned in another thread a few weeks ago now it's suffered something which I definitely didn't need and i'm not really sure i'm prepared to deal with. The timing belt seems to have gone on me, after 300ish miles since buying. I've spoken with Stu and quite a few mechanics I know, including a friend from the US who knows these engines well. The three prominent causes that have been mentioned to me are water pump, tensioner or idler failure. Between me and another friend, we've taken off the rocker cover and discovered that one of the head bolts has broken which explained a loose washer I found when I removed the oil cap the night it happened. I haven't gone any further to discover the extent of the damage to the engine yet... I personally lack the skills to do so and I don't really have a clue how the logistics of it are ever going to work. The car is now sat on my drive blocking everything, as far up as the recovery truck could drop it. Quite frankly, i'm not in a position to deal with this, I bought the car because it was so well looked after and didn't need too much money spent on it unlike my 2.0 that i've never been able to gather enough funds for. So I don't know what my next move is, any suggestions are welcome. I'm starting to think I should have sold up and kept the Crown Vic πŸ˜”
