Managed to put some sealant in the boot gutter of both coupe yesterday (before it started raining). The leaks in the blue coupe was quite bad in the boot, the water got collected in the plastic trays at the side and got iced over so was easy to clean, just had to get the block of ice out 😂🤣. I checked the boot after it started raining and it seems to have done the job. Will have to wait for torrential rain to really find out if the seals are holding well 🤞.

Thanks mate, yeah you’re right it does look quite nice in that frosty finish😂. Unfortunately doing the bodywork is a challenge when you’re open to the elements. Just need some good weather for a week to tidy up the paintwork, too much to ask for in December i guess😂😂.

Yes, unfortunately the flywheel was quite badly worn apparently, they said they could just fit the clutch, but the car wouldn’t drive properly and will keep juddering. Since this was my main car, I had no choice but to get it sorted ☹️

Will keep you up to date on any progress I make on the coupes 👍 Regarding the FRV, they’re quite versatile for a family of 6 as the seats are positioned 3+3 and the middle row seats move back and forth and the front middle seat turns into a sort of table with four cup holders, the floor is totally flat and the car is wider than your normal family hatch which makes it quite spacious. Also they are not as long as people carriers or SUV’s so easier to park.

To be honest with you I don’t really drive that much. Between myself and the Mrs (she drives a golf) we average about 5k miles a year. Sometimes I drop the kids off to school in the green coupe, can’ t resist the sound of the exhaust note. Got the FRV booked in for the mot, i’ve just changed the number plates as they were weathered and cracked and also changed the wiper blades, might also need two tyres. Just hope it doesn’t need any major welding or anything as I recently spent a small fortune on a new clutch and flywheel for it all fitted by my local Honda garage to the tune of just over £1,300!! I asked around and everyone quoted over £800 for a clutch and around £400 for a flywheel. 😤

Here’s some pics of my blue coupe everyone (sorry it’s icy cold this morning), unfortunately it has major lacquer peel as seems to be quite common with these American built coupes. It does have a good Honda history and was owned from new by my local Honda garage until a local gentleman bought it. I think it has 1 previous owner on the log book. The FRV is my daily driver and have owned it for over 6 years now, it is the ES spec and has a lovely manual 6 speed gearbox. Thanks mate. The exhaust seems to have the left side totally missing along with the right rear silencer. Although it makes a sweet sound, I don't think it looks appealing. I have plans to fit a custom Japanese style twin cat back system to bring out the sweet sound of the V6 engine. Will keep you posted.👍

@hughezee has given a very comprehensive overview of the Honda Bose audio system. My green coupe has the Bose speakers with the amplifier mounted in the boot as shown in the diagram posted by @hughezee and also the original cd auto-changer in the boot but came with an aftermarket head unit, I think it was a Pure DAB radio which was not connected to the cd auto-changer, it looked and sounded terrible, so I decided to source an original Honda radio. I bought one off Ebay thinking it would be the one that would go with the interior and also had the right connections for the cd auto-changer (8pin din), it looked in very good condition but did not come with the unlock code (what else do you want for a tenner!!!). I managed to crack the radio code (something I will share with you another day) so the radio was operational and fitted perfectly into the slot and looked factory finished. I then realised that other than the on/off volume knob, none of the buttons on the radio worked (only works initially when entering radio code), so I could not change the stations or bass, trebble, balance etc. However, when I put a cassette (miraculously I found one in my house) in to the player the sound was fantastic, luckily the eject button works. After trying to fix the radio for a week I gave up and decided to buy another one with the Honda Bose branding this time. It turns out both the radios are identical, the exception to the Bose is that it has a separate input for the Bose amplifier without which I will not get any sound coming out. My dilemma is that on my car there are no other separate wiring harness coming from the Bose amplifier, there is only one harness that houses all the controls and power for the radio. Suffice to say I cannot use the Bose radio unless I plug in the 12 pin connector for the amplifier which I can’t find in my car. If anyone knows how to get around the issue above, I would be very grateful as I don’t want to fit an aftermarket radio if I can help it. Thanks, but I’ve seen pictures of yours, it is at another level. One day I would like mine to look as tidy as yours, but the weather has been so bad now I barely get a chance to work on the cars. Also if you don’t mind, I’ve heard you’re bit of an expert when it comes to car audio, I will post something in the electrical/audio section that may be an interesting read for everyone and will benefit from your wisdom and input.
