  1. I've been reading the topic on which you show how to remove it, and the importance of cutting that pesky orange wire 😁
  2. I should have fitted a new stereo head unit by now. It was an EBay purchase a couple of weeks ago and it arrived promptly 😀. Unfortunately the adaptor didn't despite both coming from the same supplier 😒. It looks like I'm going to have to ask them to send another. The radio in the original has always been iffy, it sounds like it has a dodgy connection to the aerial. That didn't matter too much as I mostly listened to music off my phone via a cassette adaptor but the cassette player packed in. That left the CD changer but that has jammed. A new unit was the easy way out, I'm looking forward to 21st century in car entertainment 😁
  3. I'm not an Elysion owner, nor am I likely to be, but I am slightly drawn to this: It even has two-tone bodywork, it'll match my Coupe 😁 For sale on Autotrader
  4. He wasn't there, I don't know why his car was though. I pass this place on my journey to work and back but its the first time I've noticed it.
  5. I took my daughter's Civic around to our local tyre shop and this was on the front. It belongs to the owner apparently
  6. Battery is YBX3005. The Jazz is a 2004 car. The only problem we've had with it at MOT time is related to an inferior cat that was fitted by Halfords which Stu has managed to bodge to make it work something like the original. A sad story and a lesson learnt.
  7. Coincidentally I also fitted a new Yuasa battery in my coupe yesterday. The alarm went off but I was expecting that, I think it has always happened for me when I've had a dead battery, but the fob worked straight away. The car started straight away, turning over nicely, though its still Sorn'd so it couldn't go anywhere. Then the missus tried to go shopping in the Jazz and it would not start, nothing at all when she turned the key. So the first job for that poor new battery was to try and jump start the Jazz but without any joy. We called the RAC out but he was unable to get it started so it's gone to the garage to be sorted on Monday after we bump started it. I didn't think he would get far, but the cover includes up to 3 days car hire so I thought it worth going through the motions. But because of coronavirus the local hire shop is closed and getting hold of a car was going to be more effort than it was worth so we've given up on the idea. She's insured on the daughter's Civic now which cost £10 so no great hardship, especially when daughter is working from home and doesn't need the at herself. I'll probably tax the Coupe on Monday, I'm looking forward to driving it again.
  8. Oh dear, I've ordered one of ebay now. Thanks for the offer.
  9. Today I finally turned the car around. The battery was flat so I had to jump start it off my daughter's Civic. So I can show you what the front end looks like now with the repaired bib spoiler and the self adhesive number plate. The bad news is that the battery doesn't appear to be holding charge. I left the car ticking over for an hour but there wasn't enough juice to start the engine.
  10. I'm not sure that I want to, it might be better to be blissfully ignorant 😁
  11. Thank you all for your feedback. It will stay as it is then. I didn't notice any difference between the paint under the badges, I will look closer, but there are bigger issues with paint flaking on the rear bumper and scratches on the top of the boot which should be dealt with first anyway. I will store the badges away somewhere safe in case I change my mind sometime in the future, or if Stu wants his Honda badge back! @AhsyV6 your car looks stunning from that angle! I certainly have a long way to go.
  12. Last year the "da" fell off the boot of my coupe. Stuart gave me a new Honda badge that has been living in the side pocket of the boot ever since. While cleaning the car I found that the "Accord" badge was about to fall off so I removed it along with the "2.0 ES" badge. I cleaned everything up in readiness of sticking than all back on, but now I quite like the look. I have always intended to keep the car as original as possible, but now I'm not so sure, what do other people think?
  13. That's pretty much what my booth is. I've got a space just about big enough which is enclosed on 3 sides by the side gate, the fence to next door and a brick coal-bunker. I line this with dust sheets and move the wheelie bins across the 4th side to enclose it as much as possible. It still needs to be a pretty windless day though. Oh and my trestles are a pair of old folding garden chairs!
  14. OK I have now decided that I should have spent more time on preparation. Stu is never wrong! I have therefore sanded it all back again and I will start again. Unfortunately I am spraying outside and the weather has changed so it will have to wait.
  15. I think, no I know that you are right. I did spend some time on it but now I've got the paint on it I can see that I could have done more. Lesson learnt for next time
  16. I'm currently spraying my bib spoiler after carrying out extensive repair work by plastic welding. The first coat of paint went on yesterday. This photo was from Tuesday.
  17. I don't think my answer would be the same as yours Stu
  18. My ball joint failed just 3 weeks after my MOT. Just sayin'
  19. I have mine at at 24 most of the year and it is comfortable but is nowhere near 24°C. On very hot days when I'm driving into the sun I have to turn it down to 22 to offset the extra heat coming through the windscreen. Perhaps the position of the sensor means it always overestimates the cabin temperature?
  20. I'll try the paperclip method but we know that the battery is getting a bit tired so I'll arrange to come over before to long
  21. My SRS light has come on again, Stu reset it a few months ago. Is this something I can reset myself or will I have to bring it over again? I hope it won't mean a new controller though, it looks like a lot of work.
  22. Mine warms up very quickly, more than a minute though, more like about 3 minutes (as long as it takes me to get on the A5 from my house)
  23. I didn't realise the autos were anything other than ordinary slush boxes, I might have to consider a 3l one day
  24. In defence of the 2l, it is still a sweet engine despite not having the grunt of the 3l. It also has the advantage of coming with a proper gearbox ?, and the lighter weight should mean better handling, though I must admit to never having driven a 3l to make the comparison. And as Stu has said the trim spec is just as good so it's still a nice place to be sitting inside one.
  25. Silver's not my favourite either - but my car's silver. I have been playing around in Paint Shop Pro (cheap alternative to Photoshop) and I have come up with this: (not my car BTW - original photo robbed off the internet) A bit gaudy perhaps, but inspired by my classic Bianchi Marco Pantani bike: Perhaps it's a good thing that I don't have the money for the respray
