Currently in need of one of these, having no luck so far locating one but perhaps looking at the wrong sites etc.

Anyone else had to buy one or a replacement?

Or can recommend a place that'll put new bearings in etc?

Cheers in advance

Have you tried using the original part number ?

31100-P8C-A03 is it off hand...

Have you got a company that overhauls starter motors , local to you ???

If so check there,  most of those places do alternator overhauls too.

I can recommend Middletons in Old Trafford, Manchester if that is any good for you.  I am sure they offer postal repairs.

The local guy just retired - nowhere local left now.

Googled Alternator and Starter Motor repairers but got 100's locally.

Saw a quote for alternators ranging from £45 - £85 so £100 for a brand new one seems good value. Be mindful of import duties though!

Spoke to a few local places advertising alternator repair but all sent them to the same guy who's just retired - I'm sure there'll be someone. I'll check with Knights in Nether tomorrow.

I found this one from our German friends @ autodoc although I will need to check some details: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/cv-psh/10300052

I saw that one but wasn't too sure if

1/ Autodoc was okay

2/ It was the right one. They also have a different one for the V6.

Found a place on Alibaba that does them for £50 if you buy 20 😂

I have found some things difficult to receive from Autodoc- maybe not their fault, but needing to clear UK customs has put the mockers on some bits arriving. So please check with Autodoc before ordering!

So I had the alternator rebuilt - at a place called Electro Start Ltd in Daventry, a small unit nestled near the Cummins and Ford factories.

The guy was super knowledgeable, hadn't seen this Honda one but reeled off some similar and then had a hunt for a new one. Couldn't locate one, saying the Autodoc one is slightly different but did find one on eBay that he thought "might" be the same but the picture weren't clear.

So £100 + parts + vat.

All genuine parts from Denso, bearings, regulator, rectifier etc and all bolt in place. I'll take a picture later but it looks fabulous.

Total cost £168 and I know it's the right one.

Good to know. Not that far from me either. Had I known Daventry was within your travelling distance I might have suggested Sheltune in Northampton. Always took my starter motors there years ago.

The guy who did Sheltune's has retired - in fact, they're all looking really old in there now!
