Couple of shots of Alan's motor, a well-maintained beast as well :) nevertheless in need of specialist knowledge and the correct tools as several garages couldn't help, all sorted now and a he's very happy :D

Welcome Alan. Nice motor!

What kind of special tools and knowledge were lacking at other garages?

I like registration numbers that have a good ring to them.   My old Merc e class (sadly now at the garage in the sky after 8 years ownership ) ended with Foxtrot Golf November, which I loved!  :D

It's funny I just automatically saw the phonetic alphabet... Mine not so much - "Sierra-Tango-Romeo". (A bit of a mouthful to say the least!). :(

Talking of the phonetic alphabet, until you mentioned it i hadn't realised something blatantly obvious :

Juliet Uniform Romeo

Victor Oscar Juliet

Lima Papa Juliet

Those are my Sterling, Coupé and Volvo respectively and oddly enough, my Jeep was Kilo Juliet Foxtrot. :o

The inability to fault find and diagnose the ABS system and SRS system, even the majority of main dealers no longer support the coupes software and cannot read all the codes. ;)

The most interesting Reg I ever had was on one of my Jeeps, as seen here:

2008-04-06_14.51.12-15.jpg

It was only after I had bought it that I realised that the letters and number all meant something. I suppose I should have kept it but wasn't sure if I could at the time....

"M" - My wife's name, Marinha.

"59" - The year of my birth.

"S" - My eldest daughter, Shelley-Anne.

"C" - My second daughter, Candice.

"J" - My son's name, Justin.

A major coincidence or what!

I believe the chap I sold it to was going to export it to Holland after his contract was over. I sold it in 2008 or thereabouts. :(

The reg is still on a Jeep according to the DVLA, tax expired 1/3/2010 and MoT about a year later so it looks like it has gone to Holland although there's no export marker that i could see.

Might be worth a phone call to DVLA to see if they can help track it down.
