Funny you should mention that, ,, i used an airhose from a Kirby cleaner (dave!) when i wanted a cold feed on my GT6 . Two feeds actually,  direct to the Strombergs !

YOur best bet would be a replacement K&N that fits in the standard air filter box. Honda spent a lot of time and money tuning the intake and exhaust systems to match the VTEC inside the engine and if you replace what Honda created with a cone type filter, you alter the tuned length of the induction system. That means you alter the entire tuning of the engine and exhaust system too.

Worst case scenario, noisy, thirsty and gutless. Best case scenario, noisy, power and economy slightly down.

Best of both worlds with one of those, improved performance/economy and a little (it is only a little) more noise and a very long life. ;):D
