  1. Thanks for your inputs Pete, appreciated.
  2. I don't know the previous owner who had the car so can't tell about that but will be surprised if it was. Today by luck i encounter another coupe and out of curiosity just took a look at the dashboard but wasn't misaligned, was perfectly centered. Was like damn...😢😄
  3. Yes, we can see from those pictures that the gap is generalized all the way top to bottom. Again the shrink theory may be a possibility but i have big doubts.. Also see the gap between the dashboard and the passenger pillar here below. Quite a significant gap...On the driver side i have no gap at all, dashboard almost touching the pillar and i think it's the reason why the dashboard can't "move" any further because of being blocked by the pillar. Just my theory.. I've never disassemble a CG dashboard so i don't know how those materials the dashboard is mounted and fixed are susceptible to "move" overtime. Also i'm not sure if while mounting a dashboard there is some room for adjustment, i think you can't, it may be just mount and fix. If someone have any experience would be glad to hear that.
  4. Your point of view is interesting. As you said if it was few mm only i would say sure very probable. But here it's an whole 1cm if not slightly more and i think it's quite a lot for a material to shrink if you ask me. Comapred to Ahsy even my driver side seems more tighter than his.
  5. Took pictures today of my dashboard and the difference is very very noticable. In the passenger side there is enough room to insert the tip of my finger. Now look at the 3rd picture, this is a very interesting detail...You can clearly see that there is a mark on the rubber and to me it's the initial dashboard position. For some reason i truly can't understand it seems that overtime the dashboard has moved to its left... How the hell could this be possible ?! The dashboard is supposed to be mounted on thick solid bars they can't bend or move just like that... Do you think this is fixable ?
  6. I tried a while back to get a pair but changed my mind. I had contacted the manufacturer Depo but doens't have any stock anymore nor any store still have them and i've contacted many..
  7. If i'm not mistaken those are Accord Type R wheels. As for the taillights those aren't oem, they were made by Depo some years ago and are discontinued. Still possible to found them used but a quite difficult task.
  8. Your coupe is one of the best maintained one i ever saw, a real pleasure to look at. Is the car body dent free ? It look like the body and paint is totaly immaculate...
  9. Mhhh..not quite sure about that tbh. I think it may have to do with the doorpanel itself or something happend in the montage line during a certain period of time. As i said i got other reports from user not in this forum saying having the same phenomenon with their coupe. Ahsy exemple is the first one i encounter that contradicting that.
  10. Indeed can't see any difference Ahsy, i'll try to post pictures of mine to make a side by side. My guess is that a difference in gap should be more because of the doorpanel rather than dashboard. What year construction is yours Ahsy ? Also do you often carry a passenger ? I ask because i may have a theory behind that..
  11. Looks perfect, you did the right thing 👌
  12. Yes would be nice if some other users could report, i'm curious..
  13. Thanks for feedback, yes so this gap seems to be a factory thing. At first i though something was off with my dashboard or doorpanels but from what i see it's normal..but still wondering why they would build it that way..
  14. I noticed that while doing my dashboard cleaning last time. The gap isn''t that much of a difference but still easely noticable. I got some reports from other coupe owners seeing that they have it too. Fixed mate ! Easiet mod haver made 😂
  15. I noticed something that doesn't make sense to me. Why do our coupe have a slightly larger gap between the passenger door panel and dashboard compared to the driver side ?
  16. The cluster was made by Ford. It has grey stripe around the mph graduation, the background color is more dark grey than black like on the older version, the police number has a more dumb looking, the needles are more reddish ( personaly prefer the older orange one )..So it's a matter of taste but for me the older ( like yours ) is way more appealing.
  17. Not a fan of those cluster rings mods and futuristics fancy dials. I prefer the oem look, more clean, sober and refined just as the spirit of the car. Those rings remind some italians and french car style trends .. Also the 98-00 cluster is way nicer than the updated post 2000 ugly ford version. Actually every single styling update to the post 2000 accord were never as good as the pre 2000 imho, but that's another topic...
  18. Thanks everyone, glad with the result just back to factory looking again, can't notice any difference anymore. Ahsy, i think the sheen we see is because the dashboard is completely clean now 😂 Prior to that there was lot of dust on the mat side and the plastic was very dry looking. Now it look perfect to me, nor too mat nor too shine just where it should be. As for the doors he didn't put anything on the leather inserts but on the vinyls only. The Nextzett is for plastic and vinyls but this alone didn't really help i had to use the isopropanol to dull them a bit just like i did with the dashboard. Thing is i don't know how they look from factory so i don't know how they should really look. If someone with the same color interior could tell me if those vinyls inserts look totally mat or slightly shiny would be helpful.
  19. I'm back with the results. I started yesterday and continued today a bit. When i first tried with the Nextzett product i saw no improvment at all. Once the surface was drying the shiny/gloss reappeared back to where it was. I tried 2-3 time and still the same results. At that point i was devastated, no way i could use my car and keep seeing this abominaton while sitting in it.. At this point this dashboard was done to me thanks to an asshole who had no clue what the heck he was doing. Just when i was to give up i though since the dashboard is done to me anyway let's try something different but perhaps something that may make it even worse. But at this point i was all in or nothing and i took my chance. I took my bottle of 99.9% isopropanol pour it to the microfibre towel and started to rub the dashboard quite hard. I then noticed that something was changing but not quit sure if it was in a good way or bad way but it was different than the mat side. In my mind i was like ok now i certainly made it even worse but didn't really care because of how pissed off i was. Then i took the Nextzett and applied it and noticed that the shine started to fade but just a smidge. Then i applied again isopropanol and after Nextzett and was doing this several times between the two. Everytime it was going better and better until at some point where i couldn't see the difference anymore between the two side.. i couldn't believe it....i did it. So the combination of those two products was perfect. Don't know what kind of devils product was applied on this dashobard but never saw something sticking so badly on a plastic surface.. The results Now that the dashobard is done i attacked the door panels, but it seems that it's even more difficult to dull them because its vinyl and not plastic and thus more porous. I managed to dull them a bit but i can't do more than how they are now and don't want to insist too much in order to damage the vinyl. Maybe is the door panels vinyls that are that way don't know.. I noticed that the dashboard vinyl is more mat and open color while the doors vinyl are slightly more shiny and a tad darker. Maybe they used a different vinyl for the doors from factory ? If someone with the same color interior as me could confirm that would be appreciated.
  20. The postman will deliver the nextzett today so earlier than expected. So today will be the day of truth ! The way i will proceed is spray it on the incriminated dashboard part then use a soft brush to spread it out evenly and let sit for 3 minute like the instructions suggest and then wipe out with a clean microfiber cloth and repeating this process probably few times depeding the results. Good lord i'm nervous...this devil thing HAS to go the F#!@ out of my car ! 😠
  21. Good to know Peter. There is no doubt the merchant i bought the car from used some products to "clean" the car. My door panels are also too shiny/glossy in my taste and doesn't look normal or "factory looking". I think he used the same product on the door panels and the dashboard because the gloss is very similar. As for the 1/3 of the dashboard i think either this guy received a call or had a duty to do or something and forgot to finish the dashboard or he run out of the product to continue and leaved it this way. So basically if you don't try to remove this silicon by any way it can stay forever and never fade out ?
  22. I'll come back to post the results, feel a bit nervous about the outcome already. Replacing the glove box should be pretty easy job isn't, why you didn't once you received it ?
