welland99
I bought this obd2 diagnostic adapter for my SMAX last year, but I no longer have the smax: http://www.smaxownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?10294-SMOC-Modified-ELM327-S-Max-Diagnostic-Tool&highlight=Elm327 (Don't know if that link will work for non-SMAXOC-members) Would this be any use for my cg4? What software would I need on my pc?
Administrators hughezee Posted February 13, 2018 Administrators Report Share Posted February 13, 2018 The 1998-2002 Accord coupe only moved to the standard OBD2 16 pin/plug socket, in late 2001 models with the F20B7 engine, so yours being an F20B5 engine will have the three pin connector and probably won't work on the protocols loaded on the scanner even with an adaptor cable?

welland99
That's a shame. Before I read your replies, I already did a bit of googling and found this site: https://www.outilsobdfacile.com/vehicle-list-compatible-obd2/honda I thought it was saying that there would be an OBD2 port on the CG4, but it can't be (or I was reading it wrong). So, is the following correct: OBD = 3 pin? OBD2 = 16 pin?

Basically yes, the info on that site refers to the European model, the early 1.8L UK built Accord also has a three pin plug until late 2000.

Stu, do you have any engine / vin numbers ranges for OBD2 series? Just wondering about mine. As far as three pin connectors go I presume one connection is an earth or return feed... Just wondering if the Roverguage system could be useful or adapted??
Administrators hughezee Posted February 14, 2018 Administrators Report Share Posted February 14, 2018 Late 2001-2002 coupes have the 16 pin socket only seen one 2002 coupe 3.0 with it and a couple of 2001 2.0L's, few pic's below which give a better description. 1

I have an Icarsoft CR Plus so hopefully should be able to do something !
