  1. Congratulations on your score and welcome to the forum I am sure you will sort out those small issues and enjoy many happy miles
  2. I was driving my friends to Birmingham and spotted a black Elly on m5 next to two blue blocks of flats around 2 hours ago. If you are here - hello there 😉
  3. Welcome aboard! Don't forget to share some pictures
  4. On 29th of May (quick update Ike, well done 🤦‍♂️) I had to drive through the glorious city of London and when leaving late at night I spotted a white Elysion parked right next to north circular. It was somewhere in the eastern part of the road, no precise location or plate as it was super late, and I was driving for like 14 hours at that time. I have almost broken my neck. It's the third Ely I saw in the wild ❤️
  5. Thought so. Alrighty, I believe we can close this thread, but wanted to put it out there for newcomers hehe
  6. Hi All Last week our Elysion developed..an error? I have a grey bar across the screen saying 'Please inser the program disk'. (I have a photo of it, but this description is really enough as the photo will not bring anything to the table) Nothing else displays on the screen besides rear view camera - IF the screen will turn on at all (as it had and still has its moods) Firstly, does anyone have said disc or image of it to share? Secondly, maybe I should leverage this opportunity to replace the head unit entirely? Thanks in advance
  7. Exactly our thinking @Laird_Scooby. We would not be able to match colour nor finish of the original paint, so whilst we are not ready to do it professionally, we can other looks
  8. Some of you might remember that our Elysion had a horrible looking bonnet. I don't know where the previous owner was driving and why did he decide to 'repair' it this way, but it looks like a victim of a nasty case of chicken pox. When we finally decide what do we want to do with it, we did. I am aware it will not be for everyone taste, but you know, you do you Yes it has a '3D effect', yes it was coated with protection. If you are curious, we plan to make a total overhaul in the unforeseeable future, but we wanted something to be done about it now. I will report on the progress later, as we are not done yet. Additionally, I re-attached the grill. A few weeks ago, I opened a thread asking how to deal with a damaged grill as the mounting points were mostly broken and thanks to @PTR200S and other contributors (THANK YOU! 👏) I figure out what to use and how to re-attach it. So far, so good, will report if it works in the long run after some driving I have to do in upcoming days. Hopefully I will inspire some of you to be brave, love your car and make it your own - even when it can be polarising. Cheers!
  9. Thank you for the diagram. Unfortunately, mounting points on the grill are mostly broken. 2 are in working condition, third I can reconstruct using a part of it I have. After considering my option, I decided to try to rescue the one I can, which will safely attach the 'top' part. For the bottom I will use rubber grommets glued to the grill which with a bit of luck will nicely set in existing holes in the bonnet. Will report when it will be done. As an additional treat I found a video I took when I've taken the grill off couple of weeks ago. It has a Polish narrative which essentially can be summed up as: Look here, chap, look how they put this together. It's a living proof that shed repairs just to make it work for the time of the sale process are common in England as well. Plus some more unfunny rubbish - just mute it for your own sake. 10. Indeed, the mounting points are damaged. Didn't want to take it off yet again to avoid further destruction before I'll figure out some kind of a solution. I took some photos for reference but they are not fantastic. https://photos.app.goo.gl/9AtnLLg44p4hCcPSA If you think that taking it off and properly photographing it would be beneficial, I can do it anytime.
  11. Hi all My adventures of sorting out issues with my Lisa continue. Bonnet on my car was in mediocre condition when I bought it and it went worse since. We decided to paint it, however we please as it is not the last visual overhaul this car will have and currently it looks sad. Unfortunately I discovered that the strangely looking front grill we have isn't looking like this because of the plastic clips underneath, but because that someone damaged the mounting points that those clips are suppose to go into. Currently it is barely holding on two out of 11 spots and I want to fix it before we will lose the entire thing. Can someone point me out to some kind of instruction, proven method or clever solution of figuring out new mounting points? The only alternative seems to be a new grill but it is a significant cost which I would prefer to avoid atm... How it currently looks. Photo taken a week ago whilst polishing the lamps, sorry for low quality: https://photos.app.goo.gl/i5hVmVeaBqe7XK9K6
  12. Alrighty then. A little update is due. Firstly, I polished headlamps using lovely weather here this weekend. The difference isn't huge, but it's clearly visible. Secondly, I 'fixed' the windscreen washers. I managed to replace the tri-connector (set of them, including additional piping, cost me around 7 pounds), so I regain the spray. Unfortunately, the pressure is miserable. On the back window it is fine, but front windscreen washers definitely work worse than in the past. As the pump is working, and I do not have any leaks now, does anyone have an idea where to look next?
  13. Yes, of course, I didn't have anti-freeze in the reservoir. I just cut corner, I meant the winter screenwash fluid. It was only a theory anyway and to be honest, doesn't really matter. What does, is the fact, that I will have a windscreen washing system working again ❤️
  14. As I have a lot on my plate now I replaced the fuse and will see how long will it take for it to die, then I will do the test procedure as you recommend @PTR200S. Doors are now fine, I realised that if the car is not used for a week (very rarely, but it does happen) then they need a few runs to not stutter. This time, they need like 3 open-close-open-close actions to start working normally. I did not use any WD40 - much appreciate the advice. Funny thing with the windscreen washer. The 3-way connector under the plastic cover was completely gone. Can take a picture if you want. Probably, the winter period caused the anti-freeze to dissolve it. I have never seen anything like that. New ones are on their way with some plastic clips as I managed to broke two of them. Everything available on Amazon in bundles. Headlamp polishing and a proper cleaning had to wait, courtesy of rainy Sunday.
  15. Oh my, thank you all for responses. Firstly, no wd40, I rather listen than be sorry. Battery is less than 6mths old, so it can't be it. Long runs are frequent fortunately. I believe Lights insight have original bulbs, but will have a look. I much appreciate all of you! Will report after the weekend.

  17. Hi All I will be attempting to fix a few things in my Elysion this weekend and was thinking if someone could advise what to look for. 1) interior lights fuse is keeping going off. Replace it twice already and will do this next time this week (bought a bunch some time ago) - should I replace all bulbs or there is a known issue somewhere? 2) I have a leak in the windscreen washer system, somewhere on the driver's side. How to get under the plastic tray and is there a typical spot to look for? 3) If I will not run out of time, would like to polish head lamps. Can anyone recommend a specific, trustworthy product for this operation, or any of the sets will do? Never done it in the past so I don't want to waste time and money 4) Sliding doors are having issues occasionally, so I plan to wd40 the mechanism and have a look if there is anything blocking them. It doesn't happen often, but when it stays still for a few days the operation is not smooth, and I don't want the mechanism to go off. 5) Good wash - she deserves it!

    Honda Elysion 2005

Welcome Lee Show us your machine!
  19. Thanks @hughezee, @Laird_Scooby - much appreciated:) Well guessed Scooby, it wasn't used a lot last year—less than 3k miles based on its MOT. It was also confirmed by the previous owner, they bought Jazz for a daily and neglected the Elysion. Let's hope it will behave like over the last few weeks, as when it is working it is a pure pleasure to own. :)
  20. Thanks for the tip @Cryistic. I will remember that on the next maintenance run
  21. Thanks for the link to the oil thread. Yes, deep service is next on my list. I don't know when the oil and filters were changed as well, so I plan to change everything at once and keep the intervals from that point on. I do drive quite a bit, so I don't want to risk it. As a long-term owner of Japanese vehicles, I can vouch for the importance of timely maintenance.
  22. Oh thank you, you're very kind Nope, I didn't clean the oil nor the filter as I was told that looking at how the gearbox is working, it's not necessary. I didn't want to argue, but I will do it soon as I don't want to mistreat my first auto box Great advice with the VSA, will have a look! I decided to fight through them (using garages as I don't own tools, skills and place to do it myself) as it was clearly the same thing that was misidentified. I don't know if I would be so persistent if the issues would be scattered or the list getting longer. So far so good
  23. Hah, thanks It sounds horrible and was frustrating, but a lot of this time was just me waiting for the availability of a recommended garage. So the initial problem was an old battery, which caused 3 a4 pages of faults. When replaced, two faults left. One was related to transmission, the solenoids were stuck. I replaced two of them, but two days later the other two (yes, there is 4 of them in total) developed a similar issue. Instead of buying another pair, we cleaned the old pair and replaced the faulty ones. For the sake of others, in the first run, Elysion could barely start to drive from fully stopped. When it was driving, it was…'fine'. In the second run of this issue the car was starting fine but didn't want to engage gears 3,4 and 5. As you can imagine, that was fun. From today's perspective, I believe I didn't have to replace them. They were getting stuck and not stopped working completely. I think that, because when the same problem appeared for the 3rd time (lucky me, right?), I read that one thing to try is to go through all the gears before driving. Literally, start the engine and go on every step of the gearbox 2 times and then D and off you go – believe me or not, but it did help and hadn't had this problem since. The outstanding issue is the VSA control light on the dashboard, as it appears after a minute or two of driving, breaking isn't affected I expect it to be a sensor of some sort. Additionally, I was informed on the MOT that one of the engine mounts are going off slowly. I plan to resolve those issues in the beginning of the new year. I hope I describe it clearly enough, but happy to make clarifications. English is not my first language, and I am aware that sometimes my writing can be convoluted – sorry for that
  24. Hi All Just joined the forum, even though I was lurking here before buying. We bought our Elysion from a private owner near Leeds at the beginning of September. We are based in Brighton&Hove area. It's a white 3.0 VX with Modulo kit on it. When I was buying it was one of 6 in the country for sale, and one of 3 with j30a which I wanted. I am saying hi only now, as for the best part of the first two months of ownership we had a troublesome relationship. Currently, I have only one issue that needs attention, and I plan to solve it at the beginning of the new year. I invite you to ask me anything about the car and obviously get in touch if you want to meet up, or I could help with anything. Cheers
