  1. aaand its gone. @Retsof G did you buy it then?
  2. What's the stock exhaust diameter? 2.25inch?
  3. Phew, i can barely make toast so the thought of baking a headlight worried me haaha. You are too kind. I don't know if I will be able to come up that way soon enough so I may well have tried to repair the patchwork paint again....and probably only make it even worse lol. Thanks Pete and Bill. I have decided to go for a set of mufflers so that was very handy tips
  4. Literally watching primer and paint dry is what I did for 2 days! Ah well, have learned from the experience I think Ill be able to fix it. If I make it worse this time Ill just have to cough up for a professional repair. Mighty kind of you sir. The lens, is it easy to replace into my existing headlight? Doesnt involve baking the headlight in the oven or stuff like that? The engine mount, used would be good enough I reckon. Something for when I do make it to HQ maybe??
  5. This week I attempted to touch up the scratch on the left side rear bumper. I followed the very useful advise in the separate bumper respray thread, BUT i royally messed up and it looks even worse! i think i messed up in each step and over thought things so the end product was horrible (no im not exaggerating) and to save myself further embarassment I wont be uploading pics lol. The area that needs repair now is 3 times larger, will attempt to resand it down and respray one of these weekends, hopefully Ill have learned from my mistakes and make it right. I wish I left it alone and spent my time detailing the car instead. I have all the bits for this now so could have had a go and be smiling now instead. One positive is now I know the spray can paint I got is very close colour to the car. Oh yes I also messed up my driver side headlight. It became foggy again so the product I reviewed in the first post isnt good btw. So since I had the wet sand paper for the paint job I gave it a shot following youtube tutorials...probably over sanded as its now got stress marks all over and the clear coat dried weirdly. I need a replacement driver side headlight now. I then spent some time to correct my front number plate, got it straight and looking nice. Also got a pressed rear number plate as the regular one that came with the car had faded badly and the chrome surround got on my nerves lol, much prefer the clean pressed plate look at the back. Makes it look more foreign/unique. I then had a look at the exhaust as best I could laying on the floor and I found the source of the leak. Its the flange just before the rear muffler, driver side. Its completely snapped off and heavily rusted. The other side is rusted too but holding together so far. Now thinking of cheap fixes, youtube shows split flanges (like handcuffs) but cant find them on ebay UK. Any ideas how to attach these 2 pipes temporarily? Aim is to get new backboxes so will get welding work done properly once. Reading up these forums Im led to beleive my engine mount is also messed up as early in the morning when I turn on the car cold it jumps forward. Previously thought it was just a very powerful engine (v6 baby) but nah, maybe this also contributes to the jerkiness in gear changes.
  6. Hahaha tell me about it! Looking at this one on autotrader I went through a phase of deep regret of buying mine with so many previous owners and 46k more miles... for just a little less. I even considered doing a trade for mine haha but then I went out to look at my car and convince myself its ok, nice car, my car. Lol. It needs a name maybe to get me more attached to it?
  7. Hi Antharro, welcome to the forum. I recently joined and have been given so much useful advise and tips by very knowledgable members so you have definitely come to the right place. I know the discussion has progressed such that you have established your exact specifications...but my word this would be a stonking deal. I wish I was in the market for a second coupe - I would grab this with no hesitation. Plus there surely is some room for negotiation on price. Have a look at Bill's (Mangoman) coupe which is the same colour for inspiration, or as advised above think about doing a colour change later on if you will be keeping the car for a long time. Best of luck and hope to see your new coupe soon!
  8. Hi Bill. The coupe looks amazing. Is it the red Honda logo? Vtec logo?
  9. Thanks, Stu. Unfortunately that's not the answer I was hoping for Ah well, got to keep my eye out for a good deal on the cg2 specific springs!
  10. Yes you are right google did bring me here so many times lol. I'm not after maximum lowering as we have some horrible speed bumps and which I don't fancy scraping. It's just my car currently looks like its on stilts lol, so do need to lower it by say 1.5inch at the front and 1 inch at the back. I don't think the Acura and Integra were released in the UK but there must be a few examples, and I don't doubt the knowledge the members have so I'm sure I'll have an answer soon
  11. Long shot, but been googling for hours and not getting anywhere so thought to check with you guys...will lowering springs meant for Acura RSX and Integra DC5 fit the v6 accord coupe? From looking at pictures they look very similar but I get that's not enough to go on by. Weights of the cars are very similar. I do note that the RSX has MacPherson struts (per Wiki, not sure what it means) and so if my accord doesn't have this it is unlikely to fit. Please advise?
  12. Yup looks the exact same. Go for it.
  13. Aiming straight at the drivers door I've got the remote to work approx 15-18 feet away. If approaching from a different angle then I do have to get very close like 5 feet. When I had to replace my fob I got this one - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262191303963 Works well. I did change the battery at the same time too. Yes the remote doctor is very helpful and he has a whole other fob with new internals so in case yours is actually faulty you can have a fresh start. Apparently its very easy to programme too.
  14. You are right actually, mine did come with clips which I just disregarded after a few attempts of angling them in.
  15. So you must be immune from being pulled over then
  16. Haha isn't that the look we are going for though? Gives us some stories to tell lol. I remember once in my blacked out astra i got pulled over and blocked off by 3 cop cars! Kind of like in the movies. I put my hands up wondering what I had done. Put me in the back of one car. Searched my car. Didnt find anything and I was on my way. Hey at least they made me look tougher than I actually am lol
  17. Oh no that is frustrating! Hopefully the seller sorts it out asap and you can fit them on next week. I'm not sure if relevant for the tourer but when installing on the coupe it only had double sided tape on either end of the deflector. I thought of adding my own on the middle section where there is a slight indent but I didnt have any tape laying around so just installed as is. This means it does sag a tad bit in the middle and when you shut the windows fully the deflector gets pushed upwards by the window. Basically when you do get yours, i think adding some double sided tape or adhesive of some sort for a more secure fitting is a good idea.
  18. Yeah i can imagine. Having to roll windows down in the cold wouldnt be fun! Quite a car you have there, loud exhausts, blacked out windows...how many times have you got pulled over by the police? only kidding
  19. Safety. That's the reason I decided not to do the front but was getting tempted to try it out. It does look good in the pics you have posted! In fact it took me a couple of days to get used to the tinted deflectors when approaching roundabouts to clearly see if there is any car approaching from the right. Your tint looks darker. Is it limo black? The guy who did mine suggested 75% which I went for. Am assuming that its actually 25% and his material is labelled opposite.
  20. I might take you up on that offer, Stu, next time I'm up that way. Thanks!
  21. I went with a 16x4.4 inch plate stuck right to the bumper. In case it falls off...I have a vinyl number plate underneath lol Just a thought. I think the plate can be mounted at the bottom of the front bumper. Maybe the lip on yours will mean its angled slightly but could still look good. I saw it on an Mazda i think (on the road so didnt see it properly). Of course that would mean the drill holes on the couoe would need to be covered somehow and another respray of the bumper. Too much effort?
  22. Here is a pic of the car with rear tints and the deflectors. Sorry not the best pic as loads of reflections. I didnt go for limo black as wanted to be able to see behind when reversing. I might try doing the front windows myself. But i do like the look of the car much more now. Yeah I do have a heavy right foot to be honest. But when I tried to drive sensibly the difference in consumption was negligible so i just drive to enjoy. Still the mpgs I'm getting suggests something isnt right. Now the car is crying out to be lowered or for a bodykit to distract from the gaps. I wish there was a cheap way to bring parts in from USA. Oh. Got new sidelights. Very bright and visible in daylight, white too. Recommended. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272391891159 Im still waiting for a few bits to tackle the scratch so will likely detail the rest of car this week and leave the 2 panels for after respray.
  23. Show off Lol just kidding. I wonder why mine is so poor. Does sound like that now you mention it.
  24. It sounds like its coming from the boot tray area??? I even thought it could be something I have in the boot bouncing around. Need to get someone in the back to have a closer listen.
  25. These are the deflectors I got. Very nice tint to it and 2 minute installation. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181936513056
