Just turned the air back to cold in the car and let it idle for fifteen mins, level has dropped a little, had another look around the rad the best I could seems to be dry but will probably replace as I reckon its been there for 17 years. Hard to believe that the car is 17 years old and still unbelievably reliable and the parts only now need replacing.

Hello Everyone, I seem to be loosing coolant somewhere and just can't figure where the leak could be. I have replaced all the hoses to do with engine cooling, replaced thermostat, used Honda blue coolant and prior to replacing the radiator cap the engine was hot. Now I have replaced the cap the engine is nice and warm to touch. After reading other cooling issues on here, I reckon its go to be the radiator itself that is on its way out because my rad seems to look like the pics on other threads. I did do a 50 mile round trip the other day and it didn't use any coolant and yesterday when I took the car out for a really good spin, and well keeping within the speed limits on the motorway and doing a 60 mile round trip it had used approx 400ml of coolant and the engine was warm to touch. This morning I topped up to max level and went to the petrol garage and back home which is a 3 mile trip, checked the coolant this morning and its approx 400ml above the max level. Am I just being paranoid or is it best to replace the rad? Temp gauge has always been at a third of the way up on the dash.

New Air Filter 1998 1999 2000 2001 Accord Coupe 3.0 V6
V6vtec replied to hughezee's topic in Engine & Faults
I have had those K&N air filters and oil filters for the past 15 years, the only difference is that the engine breathes easier and a small difference in mpg and a little improvement in acceleration. No problems so far I have had them in Porsche, Honda, BMW and more. -

I replaced my air and oil filter with K&N ones back in July and must say oil is still looks new and never dips. Have always had K&N filters. -
Hello Dave, Car is good, may be on the look out for another coupe soon or something else Japanese. Yamaha thing was sold and Lorna is great, trying to persuade her to buy Japanese but she insists on buying French rubbish lol. Will be replacing brakes all round and replacing tie rod ends too. Still averaging 35mpg plus on all driving conditions after filling up with Shell Optimax unleaded now for the past six months.

will79, If you need any tips and advice I'm here in Norwich. I have owned many Hondas including a Civic Coupe 1.6Vti, more Civic's, Prelude's, Accord's, Hrv and my V6 Coupe. The best car by far.

It will be great sight and definitely bringing my camera too. I want everyone to have a great day out and something to remember with our great coupes. If its a good turnout then it has to be the Peaks next year with some fantastic roads and scenery

Accord Coupe V6 Tensioner Pulley Failing "WHINING NOISE"
V6vtec replied to hughezee's topic in Engine & Faults
I have a noticed over the past couple of days a whining noise on start up on my V6 and soon goes away when the engine is warm. The auxiliary belt looks worn and me thinks it could need replacing. I have seen a link on just the tensioner replacement but not on how to release the tension and replace the belt. I guess I should have had the belt replace 15,000 miles ago when I had the cambelt done. Is it easy to replace? I have done lots before on other cars but not on the V6. -
Pmsl, having a great laugh with you guys.   I still have my very first Pioneer midi system with 6 disc changer from 1993, I paid £800 for it then when I used to be assistant manager for Rumbelows.
