Administrators hughezee Posted October 9, 2022 Administrators Report Share Posted October 9, 2022 The starter motor on the odyssey has been acting up now then, probably being sprayed with coolant not long ago didn't help.🙄 After originally drawing a blank as every reference: SM44204 came back with JDM-only models, but I wasn't convinced. So after a bit of research, I discovered the starter motor is compatible with various models worldwide. Isuzu: 2903726060, 5862026060, 5862061680 Mitsuba: SM42202, SM44202, SM44203 Honda: 06312PAA507RM, 31200P0A004, 31200P0A004RM, 31200P0AA04, 31200PAAA02, 31200PAAA02RM, PAA0W, PCB0X Autocharge: AS2030 Borg & Beck: BST2517 Cargo: 113398 Delco Remy: DRS0050 Delphi: SX3017, SX3041 Denso: 2806013 DRI: 322015092, 322027092 Elstock: 253160 Herth & Buss: J5214038 Lucas: LRS01631 Lucas Aftermarket: LRS01631 Miratec: MNS8534 PSH: 120528092 TYC: 117591, 117729 Unipoint: STR3606, STR3624 Universal: UNS1531 Vision: VS423 REMY: 17224, 17324, 99640 Anyway I managed to get one from good old Bay of e for less than 100 squid delivered next day, starts so quietly now too. 👍 1
Moderators PTR200S Posted October 9, 2022 Moderators Report Share Posted October 9, 2022 Nothing like a quiet starter ! when they start playing up its always a lottery on how bad the noise can be and a panicky feeling "what if its doesn't start this morning " ! Seems to be the same with alternators too, a lot of "compatible" versions from other sources....its just finding the right one !!! I wonder if the Elysion has the same starter ?? Some of the 2.4 Elysion owners have had trouble with starters but that would, seemingly, be one off the Accord 2.4.....
Founding Member PaulS Posted October 9, 2022 Founding Member Report Share Posted October 9, 2022 The starter motor seems well hidden will little room to get a spanner / socket im. I guess there was a fair bit of dismatling required to get at it for a swap out? Or was it easier than it looks?

A little awkward with the top gearbox mount, just whipped the battery out of the way to make it easier.👍
