Well, new boots fitted at local HiQ, definitely feels firmer but absorbs the bumps better and road noise greatly reduced, see how they hold up now. 👍

As a matter of interest what is the decibel rating ? Seems as if a lot of the new tyres are getting down to 68 ish as opposed to 72 ish....

70dB rated, the fronts had a pair of 3-year-old Dunlops on the front rated a 68dB very noisy compared with the budget ones I had on the back, the new tyres seem better by miles, see how they hold up.

Had that with some Michelins, almost seems as if they are rated low because they are new, once they get some age and miles under the tread it seems to change !!

Didn't VAG have a similar problem a few years back with diseasel emissions?

Totally different things i agree but maybe the same ideas are behind it - make it so it runs right for a while then despite the fact it's still relatively new, it no longer performs as it should so needs replacing.
