Founding Member Mazda Man Posted July 23, 2019 Founding Member Report Share Posted July 23, 2019 I do love gadgets and after discovering that my wife’s CRV has a TPMS system - and my Legend doesn’t - well, I had to go aftermarket and these are en route: The replace the dust caps and then transmit the pressures onto the display. I’ll report back when I’ve fitted them. Oh the display is solar powered too!
Moderators Laird_Scooby Posted July 24, 2019 Moderators Report Share Posted July 24, 2019 I'll be interested to see firstly how accurate these are Geoff and secondly, how reliable the transmission of pressure data is. Some time back i bought the analogue variety which are (allegedly) calibrated to specific pressures. Fit them and if there's a 10% or more drop in pressure, the indicator in the cap changes from green to red. THis is the sort of thing i mean : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-CAR-TYRE-TIRE-PRESSURE-MONITOR-VALVE-AIR-CAP-SENSOR-INDICATOR-3-COLOUR-GUAGE/222384280779 Certainly wireless and a lot cheaper but to be honest, were about as accurate as hanging a stone on a piece of string to use as a weather forecasting station! 2
