Administrators hughezee Posted June 19, 2017 Administrators Report Share Posted June 19, 2017 I thought I share a few shots of me refurbishing my front lip, it had suffered a few stone chips and scrapes since it was last painted, also the wrong shade of gold as well looks much improved, despite no real before shots. Three cans of lacquer later and a good cutting and polish to follow in about a weeks time when it's on the car

Site Subscriber’s davebrads Posted April 25, 2020 Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted April 25, 2020 I'm currently spraying my bib spoiler after carrying out extensive repair work by plastic welding. The first coat of paint went on yesterday. This photo was from Tuesday.
Administrators hughezee Posted April 25, 2020 Author Administrators Report Share Posted April 25, 2020 Great stuff Dave, prep is key, I have spent a couple of days just getting the front of the bumper contoured and smooth...
Site Subscriber’s davebrads Posted April 25, 2020 Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted April 25, 2020 I think, no I know that you are right. I did spend some time on it but now I've got the paint on it I can see that I could have done more. Lesson learnt for next time
Moderators PTR200S Posted April 25, 2020 Moderators Report Share Posted April 25, 2020 hmmm, taken me a year with my rear spoiler 🙂 must do things a little bit quicker and be more organised !!
Site Subscriber’s davebrads Posted April 28, 2020 Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted April 28, 2020 OK I have now decided that I should have spent more time on preparation. Stu is never wrong! I have therefore sanded it all back again and I will start again. Unfortunately I am spraying outside and the weather has changed so it will have to wait. 2
Moderators PTR200S Posted April 28, 2020 Moderators Report Share Posted April 28, 2020 That's a pity but its better making that decision now rather than putting it back on the car and then deciding you don't like it! It usually means it will never get done unless there is some time to do it........oh, maybe !
Administrators hughezee Posted April 28, 2020 Author Administrators Report Share Posted April 28, 2020 I am using the weather to my advantage, wet sand nothing much else I can do either, I have cleared a space to paint and will build a booth with dust sheets near the back door. 5
Site Subscriber’s davebrads Posted April 28, 2020 Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted April 28, 2020 That's pretty much what my booth is. I've got a space just about big enough which is enclosed on 3 sides by the side gate, the fence to next door and a brick coal-bunker. I line this with dust sheets and move the wheelie bins across the 4th side to enclose it as much as possible. It still needs to be a pretty windless day though. Oh and my trestles are a pair of old folding garden chairs! 5
Site Subscriber’s davebrads Posted May 26, 2020 Site Subscriber’s Report Share Posted May 26, 2020 Today I finally turned the car around. The battery was flat so I had to jump start it off my daughter's Civic. So I can show you what the front end looks like now with the repaired bib spoiler and the self adhesive number plate. The bad news is that the battery doesn't appear to be holding charge. I left the car ticking over for an hour but there wasn't enough juice to start the engine. 4
