Administrators hughezee Posted September 9, 2016 Administrators Report Share Posted September 9, 2016 Following my concern on Project Emerald which had a stretched bonnet release cable which will very likely fail soon. So I decided to replace it and here's a few pictures for you to digest of a relatively easy swap compared with other some Honda models I removed the trim and located two 10mm head bolts which hold the leaver in position Now I removed some of the splash guard clips to gain access to the old cable attached to the cars structure under the wing.. Also as shown below it's probably wise to removed the retaining clips from the old cable before threading it through. The new cable did have new retaining clips but not the locating ones required for the engine bay, so I reused the old ones Loosing the bonnet latch will help with removing the old cable and attaching the new cable end into the mechanism. A couple of screw drivers to help locate the cable and plenty of penetrating spray will help clear any crime and aid an easier fitting. Job done and it works better than my cars cable but seriously if you have any questions just ask folks
