Yes warmer weather would be just the ticket. Having considered the options with regard to the lack of mot & the things that need attention to get it roadworthy again I relocated my car to a driveway several miles away but importantly I can declare it off the road (to the dvla) & go & work on it whenever I want & most importantly have access to running water & a kettle. There’s a lot of cleaning & fettling to be done & the ability to grab a brew when needed will help no end. It wasn’t cheap to get it moved but because the tax had run out I couldn’t risk it being impounded. Not only that but it’s now in the same town where I’ve found a firm who can remake any hydraulic pipe I take them. So I guess all in all a good day with my Honda coupe.

Hi there apologies for not introducing myself properly I’m Pete I live in Sheffield & have a 1998 3litre v6 accord coupe with a corroded bottom pipe of the two that go to the steering rack. At the garage where the pit was the mechanic said it was a high pressure pipe which is why I’ve stated that in my previous post. I’m grateful for any help in this situation.

Today I got my Honda over a pit to see where the power steering fluid was raining from… hmm… not good news as the bottom high pressure pipe to the steering rack has a hole in it & so far I’ve been unable to find a replacement online. It was too late to call the Honda dealer so I’ll continue to search online this evening & call tomorrow. If anyone knows of where I might find such a thing I’d appreciate it. Meanwhile I’m crossing my fingers (except when I’m typing)….

I’ve looked at a number of things online & the range of treatments is enormous so I feel I have to ask for your recommendation regarding the leather soaking & reconditioning etc .... much obliged.
