Administrators hughezee Posted March 13, 2016 Administrators Report Share Posted March 13, 2016 Well after successful installing a rear electromagnetic parking sensor for member George Green, I thought I would share a few shots of removing the rear bumper on a 1998-2002 Accord coupe Any questions, ask away as I will be repeating this process over the coming weeks on couple of other coupes
Steve in Ireland
Not very pretty without the bumper fitted! That is useful as need to have a go at refitting mine as it doesn't fit quite right at the moment. Think it has taken a knock at some time. Administrators hughezee Posted March 14, 2016 Author Administrators Report Share Posted March 14, 2016 Apologies it's not in more detail, but you get the idea anything specific like the upper clips (white) which ideally should be encouraged to come off with the bumper at least from one side as the holding point on the bumper is fragile I managed to free the black clips on the drivers side and carefully lifted the bumper out of the clips on the passenger side. welland99
I didn't know you had one that colour - looks the same as mine! I had to get mine off a couple of years ago as a car park incident (not my fault - I was stationary!) left it out of alignment. It has never fitted 100% correctly since as I think that a clip was broken. The next time you get one off, can you post up some close-up shots of the clips on the side - just below the rear lights? And the corresponding part on the back of the bumper? I've a feeling that the broken bit may have been a moulded part of the bumper. .
