Welcome Charles! Another coupe owner is very welcome and Stuart (Hughzee) is just about the most knowledgeable Honda Coupe expert there is - and definitely the most friendly and accessible..... I too have an interest in a roof rack (bikes too) for the coupe, but as yet have not found anything. Been looking at tow bar mounted racks too but cannot find a tow bar at less cost than a new car.....!!! I do hope you enjoy the club and look forward to meeting you at some point. Personally, I am in Manchester so some way from you, but one of the more northerly guys Cheers Paul....
  2. Any update as yet? Or does anyone have any suitable roof bars to sell me? Cheers Paul
  3. Just wondering about finding and fitting a tow bar (cycle carrier and occasional trailer use....). I always have to use another car to take the bikes anywhere..... as I only have tow bar mounted bike racks.... Has anyone fitted one? Indeed is one available for the coupes?
  4. Well the colder weather proves it - my air con is working fine all along.....
  5. Lucas fluid arrived and added - seems to be just fine! Thanks Stu.
  6. Not auto - just a displayed temp with the fan set to any setting apart from auto
  7. Thanks guys - I have ordered the Lucas fluid....What I have already is red.... Cheers Paul
  8. Fair comment - I will wait for the outside temp to drop below 18 and then try setting it to 22 and see what happens....
  9. My heater does not seem to give heat unless I set it above 26 C when it works fine but odes not seem to be 26 C but a bit less. setting at say 22 only blows cold..... I have tried with and without aircon on and it is still the same. Is there a sensor somewhere that might need a clean? Any other ideas? Cheers Paul
  10. I replaced the power steering cooling pipe and lost a little fluid in the process. Still above minimum, but is there any specific fluid I should use to top it up?
  11. Stu did a fantastic job all freezing day long. Even in my padded winter overalls and beany it was very cold,,,,,,even when I was working hard. Not that I warmed up even with the heater on and the heated seat on high all the way back to Manchester. Due to Stu's thorough preparation - spare exhaust manifolds plus various nuts, bolts, and clips were all ready at hand - without those we would not have been able to finish the jobs. Though not a tea drinker himself, Stu kept me well supplied so that I could at least warm my hands for a while....... With the exhaust swap It is probably fair to say that what could go wrong, probably did. We were not originally intending to swap the manifolds but with not one nut or bolt unscrewing cleanly on the originals there was little choice. I think we emptied a full can of penetrating oil and spray grease in the process. Sorry I used up ALL your hacksaw blades getting the old rear boxes off the old exhaust clamps...and only so that I could take the whole old exhaust back with me. Thanks to the new dipped beams (Stu fitted the bulbs which also proved less than straightforward in holders that had probably not been opened in 16 years), I could actually see all the way home. It has never been that good before. The car is now very quiet and today I had the aircon regassed for the first time in 2 years and - with no leaks - it gets cold inside even with the windows shut! And the final ATF U fluid change made the gears almost perfect - I now have to try to find the changes rather than as originally - before the first ATF change - behave like a nodding dog with every change.... Top marks to Stu for the long hours of preparation and determined dedication yesterday with friendly chat and banter all the way through the long session.! A great result from a very satisfied coupe owner! Paul
  12. Hi all, Thanks for the welcome. I guess the MPG is around 18 urban and around 30 on a run - so pretty standard according to the figures I have seen. But improvement suggestions are welcome..... I am on 205 55 16 tyres - does anyone use anything bigger (happy to stay on 16s, but thinking taller tyres = better mpg but will take advice... Has anyone changed the aircon cooler pipe in front of the radiator? If so, how does one get at it? The car is dark metallic blue with cream leather interior - dont know how to post pics - can anyone help? Cheers Paul
  13. Live in Manchester and have a W reg Accord Coupe 3.0 ES auto with 111k miles - owned for 2 years and I love it for everything but economy! Oh and the aircon pipe is leaky ..... Is anyone else around Manchester? Cheers Paul
