Elysion1987
Hi there, new here but taking a shot in the dark! Recently picked up a 2007 RR1 Elysion - it has an android installed into the head unit rather than the stock unit/setup. Looking to retrofit/remove this android unit and get an original (or near as) unit back in place... Though must admit I'm at a bit of a wall as finding any info on how to backtrack on this or even how the wiring is set up in the head unit - without having a manual on hand (of which can't find anywhere!). Wondering if any of you fine people have ever did a similar thing - maybe have any good advice/guides/imagery of how to tackle this? Much appreciated all!
Moderators PTR200S Posted October 6 Moderators Report Share Posted October 6 Think someone else was trying to do that recently but not heard any further on it. There is a good possibility that the original plugs are still behind the Android radio with the wires spliced to the new unit. Get the unit out to have a proper look if you haven't already ???? The original unit is a Japanese one, obviously, and you won't get the sat nav operational in the UK...and the radio will need a band expander as it runs on the incorrect frequency for the UK. Have you got an original unit ?? Bear in mind they are getting on for twenty years old and a lot of them are quite glitchy now.
