head unit

HI all newbie here looking for advice / comment .please.

 

I have a 2007 Elysion 2.4 petrol. IThere is an android fitted which ( as i have read in posts here) eliminate use of the joystick and cd/ dvd/ tv  working , is this true ?.

I wanted to take out the android and retrofit the original japanese head unit, in the hope that it will  get my CD/TV and DVD player working, not bothered about radio or sat nav.

Most of the head units have touchscreen and or remote keypad access so the joysticks of the original system tend to be disconnected. 

If you refit the original jap unit you should get those functions back unless they have been disconnected at the relevant unit.

Bear in mind a lot of the jap units have failed or at best intermittent but you could get lucky !!

The radio you can get most UK working by using a band expander...Sat nav...no chance !! Sea of Japan only !!!!
