This is a common question with the problems that can arise as a result of using the incorrect manual transmission fluid and the problems I have seen when the Honda MTF-3 p/n: 0826799902HE transmission fluid has been used in older transmissions when 10W40 or MTF-2 has been specified for the vehicle.

So I have illustrated two of the most common fluids used by myself as a Honda Specialist, so if you are looking for a standard fluid I would recommend any semi-synthetic or fully synthetic 75W-90 Honda or GL-4 compliant fluid (always check the label).
