Administrators hughezee Posted March 23, 2017 Administrators Report Share Posted March 23, 2017 This is a common question with the problems that can arise as a result of using the incorrect engine oil and problems I have seen when the Honda 0W20 p/n: 08232P99K4LHE engine oil has been used in older engines, which results in oil leaks, high oil consumption and excessive valve train wear and engine noise. So I have illustrated a few of the most common oils used by myself or recommended by other members, so if you are looking for just a standard oil I would recommend Shell Helix HX7 AF 5w-30 Engine Oil or Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-30 Engine Oil. Owners looking for good fuel economy and good performance I would highly recommend Mobil 1 ESP Engine Oil 5W-30.
Founding Member Brett Posted July 27, 2017 Founding Member Report Share Posted July 27, 2017 Over the last 6 years I have tried a few types of engine oil and am now sticking to Mobil 1 5w-30. Iv used Ester based oil from Fuchs Titan pro and was very good indeed. Also tried Honda 0w-20 oil for the new tyre R and was not inpressed at all. The oil was to thin in my opinion and reverted back to 5w-30.
Founding Member Brett Posted July 28, 2017 Founding Member Report Share Posted July 28, 2017 Yep, I think I will try 5W40 that you recommended Stu as the car is getting older, especially looking at the link you sent about the oil pressure with 0w-20 oil is quite alarming. Thanks for the quick call.👍
