Great to see another V6 Coupe in Wales.
I've owned mine for nearly 5 years and still love it.
Ive been building a new garage/workshop for my car over the past few months, just the rendering, guttering and drains to finish.
But it's going to be a lovely stable for the Honda, and give me a nice space to work on it.
It's covered in sawdust in this image, but it's been washed and polished since.
It's a 1999 model with 47K on the clock, and runs perfectly.
The only thing that doesn't work at the moment is the dashboard bulb indication for the 'cruise control', which I'll replace as soon as.

Jam on first as well. Shocking.

Damn right jam goes on first!!!! That then allows an inch of the clotted stuff!

Had a good break then ? What's the weather like. ??

Lovely break thank you. Staying with my brother and his partner and just feels home from home. Weather has been a mix between overcast with very occasional “mizzle” and sun……could’ve been a tad warmer but we’ve had 3 good full days on the beach. Cornwall is a funny place for changeable weather

This is unusual , my other car is a 3.0d jaguar xf-s

That’s one of the options I’m looking at? It’s either a 65 plate 3.0d portfolio S or a 13-15 3.0 petrol supercharged portfolio (preferred option but VERY rare). What are you thoughts on ownership?

Does anyone know how to remove the rear seat backs from its hinges?

Hello mate, from memory there is a 10mm-14mm bolt in the gap between rear back seat and bottom rear seat. You’ll need an extension on a ratchet and it’s a bit fiddly. After undoing this grab the front of the bottom seat (where is meets the carpet) and pull up as there are a couple of clips (made of either metal or a strong plastic) that are imbedded in metal floor on which the seat sits.

Also any suggestions on how to remove the front driver seat before disconnecting the battery?

You’re right mate, undo the 4 bolts under the seat. You might have to move the seat forwards and backwards to get them. I also put the back of the seat forward as it is easier to take the seat out of the car.  I unplug the seat at the end.

I took my coupe in around 2 years ago to teh Honda dealer in Stockport but I am convinced they did nothing.  No sign of anything being disturbed, no extra marks and none of the existing marks seemed altered....

I got mine done last Monday and have to say I also questioned if they’d done anything as the interior was unmarked, smudge free and just how I had left it. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, they’d need to have disconnected the battery right? If so the clock was not back to 00.00 (unless they reset the time) also my radio presets weren’t reset either along with the audio settings?

The only way to have this confirmed would be to take the steering wheel off and check the bag right?

Finally made the decision regarding the suspension and choose the coilover route. Tein Street advance Z. I thought I might aswell take a chance on some reputable coilovers rather than spending the same amount if not more on aftermarket shocks and springs and not quite being satisfied. Quite chuffed with the quality. IMG20230202211600.jpg

What’s the update with these mate? Really looking forward to seeing the coupe with these installed.

I did some extreme OCD detail polishing on the headrests. The chrome rods holding the headrests were covered in a layer of oxidation built up over the years plus they were very stiff to adjust, so I thought I would do a little bit of a enhanced interior detail.

    Before:

    Products & Prep:

    IMG20230406182232.jpg

Firstly I had degreased the chrome to free up any residual surface grease. Masked up the bottom base of the rests to prevent any excess polish getting to the leather, and covered the leather with a carrier bag. I used 000 fine steel wool to help agitate the polish when scrubbing the chrome and buffed the excess with a micro fiber towel. After putting in much time and patience I finally managed to get that restored shine back.

There are better suited ceramic coatings for chrome, but I just simply used what I had to add some protection, that is if it does work in the long run.

    After:

Big difference in the before and after but looking much more presentable and has helped knock of some years from the interior for the eagle eye viewer. I don't think it is too much of a big deal, but it is a missed area when cleaning up the seats/interior.

Very impressive mate! Kind of detailing I really appreciate. They must glide up and down now?

What are you going to do if the Khanistan Kingdom Expansion doesn’t get stopped by the resistance by the few councils and the majority of the public in the outer zone???

Still undecided if I’ll keep it as a second car. Budget is tight and I’m considering a 2008 Lexus 450H.

There’s a little glimmer of hope inside me that this expansion will be reversed but then o come down to reality. What gets me is that there’s nothing in the mainstream media about all his dodgy antics around this entire process! It’s just on youtube. Anyway we’ll see.

    That looks fantastic,  brilliant  !!!

Cordless powerwash ? Interesting concept, so definitely worthwhile from what you say.

Does the sadist khunt ulez expansion affect you then ??

    Thank you as always.

The cordless pressure wash definitely has its place and is an excellent solution for my circumstances. It doesn’t blast away mud from the arches but has a good go at it. I don’t mind going to the petrol station jet wash and spending £1-£2 every month to blast the arches.

Also I have 2-3 parking spaces to myself when I wash the coupe and it’s so chilled and therapeutic.

We live 1 mile inside junction Junction 25 of the M25……need I say anymore?!?!?!

They’ve come out a treat mate. What did you use to seal them?

  12. I also invested in a cordless power wash……absolutely love it! Perfect for someone that lives in a flat. 6 buckets of water and can rinse, snow foam, rinse, 2 bucket wash and last rinse and still some water left. Obviously no where near as powerful as a proper jet wash but this is perfect for what I need to achieve.

I know I mentioned this on the WhatsApp group today but wanted to post it on the forum as well.

Finally got round to washing and waxing the coupe today after 2 months! I deep cleaned and waxed the wheels a couple of days ago along with the engine bay.

God I love this car!!!!! Effing ULEZ and Khan is doing my nut in……the thought of selling breaks my heart!

Hey mate it's from a next gen accord. Looks well I think just hasn't got the sharper angles on top

Ah that makes sense now. I just thought there was a slight tweak on the styling at somepoint. Looks very nice mate and the paint job looks lovely.  Yours has a clearance at the ends where it meets the tops of the rear quarter panels whereas mine has a 1 cm gap which means I have to lift the bootlid when washing in order to access the area the spoiler covers.  Does yours have ACCORD imprinted in the light cluster?

maybe keep both centre ones or just one.

You may know this already but leaving both connected means you’ll get a strong reflection off the spoiler from the rear screen brake light. This will most likely cause glare in your rear view mirror.
