Sorry for missing this one I strongly recommend you disconnect the extra bulb and wire them both separately on a relay with a new power feed as everyone that's attempted a DIY overloaded the multiplexrer unit or damaged the fuse box.

I was in the unknown on this. Not easy finding OEM wiring for the rear fogs. I know it's a bit risky powering it off the original side. Am I right in understanding it's best to wire both of them with 2 relays, one for both sides? Also when you mention the power feed, is that by getting power direct from the fuse box or a different harness within the boot lid?

  2. Wasn't 100% sure on the best way to wire the passenger side, but after no reply, I just thought I would tackle it myself. So obviously the passenger side doesn't have a bulb socket holder, so I had to source and waste money on a corner light just for the socket wiring.

I extended the factory wiring with some 5 amp cables, enough to reach the driver side rear.

I wanted to keep the wiring colour coded but had to make do with what I had at the time. Factory black/white cable being negative, and the green/yellow being earth.

As mentioned way above on the thread, drill through the tail light using a big enough drill bit or a hole saw attachment (a circle outline is engraved, where the bulb sits inside, aswell as ventilation holes around the black bulb housing). Any debris from drilling, use an air line, compressed air or a vacuum to get them out. Feed the wire inside the boot lid reaching the other side.

With the extended wiring reaching the driver side, I used some cable connectors to tap into the factory wiring harness for the driver side rear fog. As shown above, factory black wire is the negative -, and the red/blue being the positive +.

    Finished result.

That looks gorgeous! Why do they insist on covering the reg though, can't check the history 🙄

Agree with you to some degree, but I think it will only help gauge more interest which will help. I think you cant judge a car too much by looking at it's history unless you can tell if it has been seriously abused. Needs to be seen in person and driven to be judged. I think that's more important if someone is serious.

  4. ...it went for £2,800 🤦‍♂️🥲😬. Someone managed to bag a bargain. Was hoping it would bid for more than that. However saying that, there are others on Gumtree with more mileage going for a lot more.

But good to know these cars are going for a lot more than a few years ago. Just depends on whether someone is able to pay a ridiculous amount for something rare, be it neglected or a good example.

  5. You are most welcome. If I can suggest a good source for part referencing try; https://www.parts-honda.uk/honda-cars/ACCORD-COUPE/2001

    Water pump: 19200-P0A-003T

    Timing belt: 14400-PDA-E01

    Belt Balancer: 13405-PAA-A03

But if you would prefer to save £££ and buy a kit in one go, I would suggest looking here.

Hope this helps you out. I'm sure the others will suggest further info and better sourcing 👍

  6. I have also had this problem on and off, but mine only revs high to 2000rpm when it's cold, but returns to normal idle after a couple of minutes warming up during winter.

I'm guessing reasons related to this could be the throttle body sticking, needing a good clean or maybe the idle control valve. The 2.3 engine is basically the same as the 2.0ltr.

OEM part number for the idle air control valve is: 36460-PAA-L21

You will be better off to buy new caliper. Just make sure you buy quality one.

Thanks, most likely what I am going to have to do. Any suggestions on good aftermarket brands, without going all out on OEM? My current ones are A.B.S., from AutoDoc.

how many clicks was it (before the problem) to get the handbrake on full?

The handbrake cables were replaced when I got the brakes done few years ago, although not genuine ones. Have always tried not to fully pull the brake excessively, but it was usually 3-4 clicks. But more recently it has moved further without clicking but very stiff. Might just replace them again but with genuine ones this time, just to be on the safe side.

  9. Was driving on Sunday, and noticed a burning smell. At first I thought it was someone's diesel car until I looked in the side mirror, smoke coming from rear alloy. Pulled over to see, a seized caliper 😑.The past couple of days I have noticed the handbrake has been unusually light on one side, so I thought maybe it's the hand brake cable or failing that seized caliper pin.

Had a look today at work, looks like the coil spring attached to the handbrake cable on the caliper is stiff and doesn't want to uncompress when the handbrake is down unless manually pryed. Have tried adjusting and lubricating but no luck. Rear calipers are new and only a few years old, so wouldn't make sense for them to seize unless the car was standing still for a long time or had been getting abused.

Could be a worser start to the year but a bit inconvenient seeing as winter is here. Maybe an early excuse to spend some more money on parts for the car 😁😁😅

Today was a sad day, Declared Sorn on the Coupe....

It will be up for sale towards the end of February,  probably with a new mot although the current one doesn't expire until April.

It has to go as it no longer fits in with my life duties and I can't afford to keep it as a total toy 😭 ..other vehicles will need to go too I think although currently Elly has had a reprieve so I will still be "Yo, Vtec" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can understand with everything being costly these days and at the same time with changes in life priorities. But can't you just put a cover on it, and let it sit and gather dust somewhere on the drive, until the interest and time comes back 🥲

  11. 1989 Legend coupe, on market place for £3400, with currently 64k. Hard to judge the bodywork from the photos, as it looks like it's been given a quick wash without drying. Got to be a tactic to hide any battle scars 🤔. For its mileage and after looking through it's MOT history, doesn't look bad at all. However the tints and the black accents on the decals, wheels and rear lights is subjective to opinion. Hood stickers on the bonnet, also in black 🤦‍♂️. Interior looks nice, but not sure if the piping is standard on them seats. Not roasting at all, but got to question what inspires these choices of styles/mods.

  12. Another that has come up on Facebook. 98" 2.0ltr manual on 140k. Looks interesting to say the least. The owner has mentioned he has fitted a skyline r33 spoiler, which actually doesn't look too bad in my opinion. Bodywork looks good apart from the passenger door. Lowered and with bumper skirt lips/extensions. Wouldn't call this a ricer but the mods are not that off-putting as some of the others found. £2800

Hi all, I've just purchased an 2000 accord coupe auto 2.0vtec

I can't find parts for there's anywhere. I love this car as I've owned one previously many years ago..

Need a bonnet ( any colour)

    And headlights.

    Please help 🤔🤔

Congratulations on getting the coupe. I remember seeing yours on Facebook marketplace. You are right about the parts being rare, majority of the sourcing can be found from the USA as there is alot of support and aftermarket choices for these cars over there.

If you are thinking about getting the headlights back to stock, I would suggest looking on eBay for a good used Stanley brand set, there are quite a few being sold in the UK. Another option is to go aftermarket and try Amazon or Andy Auto Sport, but again these are from the USA.
